I am so happy you are back, Elle. I appreciate you and the beautiful soul you are. Just want you to know that you are valued so much and you bring so much joy and happiness to many people. Love the new kitty. I have missed Pinecone and Baby Cat and also Alex. Much love to you guys xxxx
I'm flying for the first time in about a week. I've searched online for hours and days seeking a practical packing strategy for a 12 day trip. Thank you for explaining everything as well as showing the things you packed. I feel more confident about not getting tackled and body slammed at security for not having the things packed correctly! LOL! This is amazing!
i thought this packing video was great, very realistic as i am an advocate for travelling light. Pack light = stress less. Your past packing videos were fun to watch but were way over the top. Loved this video!
Dear Elle, I have been watching your videos for a very long time, not gonna say from the beginning but for a few years. I always loved how sweet and respectful you were and found your videos interesting and kind of relaxing. I guess that like many other people I have realized that you are not uploading videos anymore, I have even heard that you call yourself ex-beauty guru and that you are not coming back. I don't know if it is true or not, and even if it was I would totally understand that you want to move on and do new things but I really wish that if this was the case, you would tell us, maybe do a goodbye video. I am not gonna judge you for disappearing cos I have no idea what your life is like now, but I would really appreciated if you would take the time to say goodbye and let us move on too instead of hoping for you to post again. I really hope you are doing well and I wish you the best in life. Take care!
MKarmele completely agree. Would be nice for her to come on and say why she's leaving and just a farewell/one final update on her life type deal so we're not all waiting. Still love her and her videos so much
Do yourselves a Very Big Favour! Check your airline about the liquids and it definitely will depend on what country you are flying from, and to. I counted all my liquids and made a nice list and put it I a clear plastic bag and the airport gave me another - smaller plastic bag and I couldn't take everything. I was flying from Canada. It wasn't the airline, it was the Federal Govt regulations.
in the UK, airport security is really strict about liquids, the bag you use to put them in etc. so just be careful and double check each countries rules before hand (i live in scotland this is my experience flying out from home) the liquids have to be in a liquid bag provided by the airport and the bag has to lie flat, fully close and allow all liquids to be easily seen. One bag only per person is allowed also so this way would not be allowed. its so frustrating and stressful theres so many rules to fly now
Packing light is smart when going to Europe, especially if you are using public transportation from airport to hotel & back again. It’s not easy to get big luggage on a crowded subway or carry upstairs in subway/train station. 😩 Great video.
So happy you're back on these channels Elle! I can't believe how mean some people in the comments have been, but please please know that there are thousands and thousands who love you and your videos and are so happy that you are uploading content like this again after your beautiful wedding! Much love x
GIRL!! I finally have time to get back into UA-cam videos and you're gone!!! MISS YOU, I even checked your other channel. I hope all is well. COME BACK!! I graduated college, got married and have two kids now since I was last on your channel but I still love ya (and your sis). CHEERS! Hugs & Love.
Every so often I come back to this channel just to see if she posted. Makes me so sad not to see videos any more. Wish there would have been a video to let us know there is going to be a long break or that she is leaving. It is kinda like watching pretty little liars all those years and then they decided not to do a finale. Thats how it feels with this channel!! This was one of my favorite channels! :-(
She said on her ellesglittergossip channel that she didnt make a goodbye video because she never intended to be gone, but she needed some time to figure out where her heart is with UA-cam. also she and Alex are expecting a baby so she has a lot of other things to focus on now :( I miss her too but I'm hoping she will come back to share her baby journey with us
-- I was not BORED at all with this video. It's so interesting to see the way other people pack. Plus, I'm an over packer, but I am getting better! LOL But I was so interested about how you packed for 12 days in a carry on!! Awesome video!! :)
wow! I'm proud Of you elle! compared to your other packing videos this is a breath of fresh air! I can't believe how minimal you've become. also I wanted to request a glitzy glam video! I want to see what new things you have in the shop! thx! happy holidays!
you seem so low maintenance here, I love that :) and I can't contain my excitment about you doing vlogmas, without it it's basically not even christmas for me.
Sweets Beauty she hasn't actually said it but it's pretty obvious. She hasn't posted a video here in such a long time and when she was doing vlogmas she disabled all the comments. I don't think she really enjoys it anymore and will just have her sticker channel from now on
Aimee Gilchrist I think she might be preggo she already looked a bit fuller on her wedding photos and she never shows anything below her chest so I think a window with no videos for 4 months is obvious :)
Yeah i thought so too at first but she was drinking alcohol on her wedding day so doubt she'd be drinking if she was. I did think it was odd she suddently stopped showing herself a lot though - especially on her vlogmas videos its so strange how he disabled all the comments. she didnt even finish vlogmas. Hope she's doing well anyway
She has a Facebook group for her sticker store and sticker channel and has said that the hate has been too much and now that she is married and has a full time job (her sticker store) she doesn't really want to make videos for this channel. It's not necessarily 100% over, she might post every so often, but I think she's just focused on other things now. Everyone changes as they get older and go through different seasons of life :) but yes. I will miss her makeup videos too💖
Love this! We did Paris, London and Amsterdam for 14 days last year and Virgin Atlantic lost our bags - We were 5 days in before they were all returned, and that's when we learned that less IS more when travelling abroad.
Mostly great tips! But you won't make it through security. You need to keep the liquids in 1 bag, ready to take out to show security, and all of your liquids can't exceed 100 ml. Buy a solid shampoo bar, conditioner bar, and solid moisturizer bars. Plan to buy other liquids (hair spray, etc.) at your destination. Use your carryon liquid allowance for a travel size toothpaste and travel size bottle of hand sanitizer.
I think this was actually a really awesome and helpful video. I've never traveled out of the US but I know those liquids wouldn't work like that here. But I usually am fine. But omg those compact bags!!!!!
This is weird but I'm about to write an exam and this video calmed me down so much! So organized and your voice is so calming. Always love watching your videos Elle xoxo
For anyone wondering, Delta airlines does NOT have a weight restriction for carry on's just a size requirement, plus a personal item. *I'm not saying that's the airline she took as I don't know haha*
What a great video! I travel for work and use a carry-on exclusively so I know how hard it can be to pack! Love you and your videos! You are my favorite, Elle.
Super jealous of your wisps. We can't get them in Aus anymore and to get them posted here costs a fortune. I miss those! I'm so impressed, I take more than this home to visit my Mum for the weekend. LOL.
hey, Elle! I would really like to see what your style looks like nowadays. Could you do a closet tour or a winter essentials, something like that? thank you sooo much
no pressure, of course. I just admire you a great deal and was wondering how your style had evolved with time. I remember your last style video where you wore a lot of bright colors :) take care! xxx
I actually went to Europe for 2 weeks and traveled all throughout Scandinavia with one carry on and a backpack. Life is more liberating when you have less things with you. It's the people and experiences that make it all worth while =)
Oh dear. I see this and just want to advise you all that if you are travelling international, with most airlines that operate in Asia Pacific and Europe, your carry on must fit in the square measure at the airport and can only in Total ( ie both bags) weigh 7kgs. You may get more in business but as most fly economy or coach, please be aware you will have to check this sized and weight of bag. In addition, your liquids would not comply. You only get one of the size zip loc bags, that you showed. You can’t use those slightly frosted bags (even if they are US TSA approved) as they are not allowed in many airport hubs throughout Asia and Australia. If you chose to have this much, the security guys that check your carry on, on the air bridge, after your boarding pass is swiped, will confiscate all your toiletries and makeup. Definitely no razors, nail files, nail clippers (they often have a little file on the back) or even tweezers. Also all your lipsticks, lip balms, mascaras, foundation or cream makeups, moisture wipes, concealers are considered as cremes and must go in that one clear zip loc bag. Please don,t bother bringing liquids in the form of water, even if you bought it after security, into the bin it will also have to go before boarding I fly every second week and im astounded that everyone is giving poor advice to infrequent travellers.
As for Europe: 1. Makeup wipes don't have to go into liquids? 2. They're not at all strict on nail stuff. My mom once had a knife by accident (she always takes that because she goes on a lot of hikes) and they didn't even see. I've never had my nail files taken away. Never. Same with razors, they're allowed in your carry-on suitcase (but usually not in your carry-on backpack/handbag). 3. You're right about the size and weight, they're really strict on that.
Agreed...it would be useful if dimensions and weight and destinations and airlines were included in the description...cabin bag, lots, small, minimal are all so subjective aren't they...
Regulations change all the time. You can now take even small nail scissors and I travel only carryon with nail clippers, tweezers and razors all the time. (Not the old fashioned razor blades, of course). Moist wipes, lipsticks and lip balms do NOT have to go in the clear bag. I ALWAYS buy water after Security and bring it on the plane. You only have to throw out your water to go through security, not to board the plane. Yes, everyone should check their airline’s website for carryon luggage sizes and weights as they vary widely. Her luggage was fine for flying from the US or Canada to Europe or Asia and back, but too large to carry on flying within Europe or Asia.
Jo-Anne Wright. No, they are not subjective at all. Each airline has clearly stated rules for the size and weight of the luggage they allow on their planes. You only have to check their website or phone them.
Wipes are not considered liquid but, with makeup wipes I carry the dry wipes so that they remain in my bag even when I’m not traveling. The dry makeup wipes won’t dry out over time.
Wow, really impressed with this! I do carry on only all the time, but never for cold weather! Can't believe you got away without a coat this time of the year :0 Good holidays to you and your loved ones
A majority of airlines now allow handbags to be taken on the plane so long as they fit under the seat in front of you. A handbag would be considered the one personal item allowed per passenger. These items include laptops, purses, cameras, coats, pillows, and similar items.
When I flew from Florida to Ohio on an economy airline the lady told me to stick my small purse into my backpack or I'd have to pay $35 for the purse....so it must be different for different airlines. This was 2 years ago when that happened to me. Happy New Year! Melody :)
We are headed to London, Paris and NYC in March for 13 days and only doing a carry on and a stroller (me, hubby and our two boys, 5&3 year old) this helped a ton!
Nearly a year since the last video. Assuming Elle has given up her UA-cam channel. Would have been nice to have had a little heads up given that most of us have been invested and supported this channel for years! X
Laura Staines people need to lay off her a bit she is settling down and now she is starting a family and doesnt have all the time in the world for youtube anymore like she used to, we just have to wait til she is ready to come back when she wants to
Wow I couldn't believe when you had a video up on this channel....it was a good one...but we didn't get to see you.....are you going to be doing any makeup videos ever again?
What I find difficult is not the amount of room in a carry-on but the weight restrictions. Most airlines only allow cabbin luggage to weigh 7kg (15lb). Including the weight of the bag itself it looks like it would weigh over the restrictions. If all of that stuff in the cabbin suitcase was less than 7kg that good job!
I have to do this for a whole 30 days in Europe in the winter. Kind of freaking out thinking about trying to fit everything and all the big sweaters and jackets
Hotels do laundry for you if you leave some in the appropriate bag. Also, you know there are stores all across Europe, right? We sell winter clothes. Or honestly just get a bigger luggage and check it in 🤷🏻♀️
Cameron Hartline I'm in her planner group on Facebook and she never posts on this channel for certain reasons. I can't remember exactly what she said but on the planner channel she doesn't need to show her face. And she loves planning so it works for her but she knows a lot of people miss her videos on this channel ❤
Thanks for the video! It really helped me to think how I should pack for the next trip. I'm so trying to find some kind of compression bag to make it easier to get more things along.
Out of all the "How to Pack Only in a Carry On" videos I've watched and articles I've read, this one has been by far the best and most helpful! Thank you making this video!
those packing cubes are GENIUS! I am totally doing that on my next trip. One question though... where are your purses? I find that purses and shoes always take up half of the stuff I bring, but I couldn't live without them. Also my DSLR would probably take up half of that carry on! lol
When u are going nowhere but just want to be nosy and see what other people carry 😙
Glad your back on this channel Elle!!
Girl, you have over a MILLION subscribers.... dont just throw this channel away!!!
You were the first beauty guru i ever watched! I was in fifth grade, now im a freshman in college! Times flies!
Could not have uploaded a more relevant video for my life recently, so happy to see you upload 😍💖

Would you do an update video? It feels like it's been so long since we've been updated on what's going on with you :)
And I don't mean anything too personal by that or course! I just love your videos, but I'm not into planners XO
ChapterStackss I second this!!!!
i thought this packing video was great, very realistic as i am an advocate for travelling light. Pack light = stress less. Your past packing videos were fun to watch but were way over the top. Loved this video!

When Elle posts a video after a long time AND it's a packing video (my fave), it's a good day. 😍😍
Nice to see Elle mature with her packing, what an improvement from her previous massive suitcases!
Ahhhhh 😱😱😱😱 Im soooo happy you are doing vlogmas!!! I have watched you for yrs now and I always enjoy your vlogmas the most! Missed you!!!

Yes! Climbing up flights of stairs in a tube station with a heavy bag = 😫😫😫

Yay!!!!!!!!! Very excited. And looking forward to your 12 days of vlogmas :) thanks for uploading Elle.
You know it's a good day when you start with a video from you and a cup of coffee. ☕💖💖💖 You made my day, welcome back, honey! 😙😻
Love this! We did Paris, London and Amsterdam for 14 days last year and Virgin Atlantic lost our bags - We were 5 days in before they were all returned, and that's when we learned that less IS more when travelling abroad.

yay! so glad you are back. Missed your videos :)
Omg seeing a video on this channel was so so exciting!! I can't wait for vlogmas, your vlogs are my favorite! ⛄️❄️
Missed you Elle welcome back
I've missed your vids! I'm excited for your mini vlogmas series :)
Those compression bags are AMAZING!! I need them ASAP haha. Thanks for sharing!
I have a final in an hour and I decided to watch this and it calmed me too! You're so right!
omg me too !!
For anyone wondering, Delta airlines does NOT have a weight restriction for carry on's just a size requirement, plus a personal item. *I'm not saying that's the airline she took as I don't know haha*
Just popping by to ask.. are you reeaallyy not doing anymore videos? For real?
Coz some of us are still waiting..😊
Wendy Lea she said on her planner channel (months ago) that she got inspired to start up this channel again. So I don’t think so☹️
Glad to see a video from you finally!
I'm missing her making videos... :( she and her sister were the first youtubers I ever watched...
Same! Back in 2008! I wonder what happened...
What a great video! I travel for work and use a carry-on exclusively so I know how hard it can be to pack! Love you and your videos! You are my favorite, Elle.
Miss you Elle!! Are you going to come back to UA-cam??
Gotta love Elle
Super jealous of your wisps. We can't get them in Aus anymore and to get them posted here costs a fortune. I miss those! I'm so impressed, I take more than this home to visit my Mum for the weekend. LOL.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos and stickers... you are amazing and I don't know how you do it all but thank you for your never ending dedication!!
Elle is still uploading on her other channel... ellesglittergossip her last one was two weeks ago.
hey, Elle! I would really like to see what your style looks like nowadays. Could you do a closet tour or a winter essentials, something like that? thank you sooo much
Sevvy4ever yes!
no pressure, of course.
It's the people and experiences that make it all worth while =)
Those compression packing cells are genius!
I always enjoy your packing videos Elle! I've started really trying to pack lighter as well- so much less of a hassle! :)
I’m going on a 6 day beach vacation 𓆉and I’m an over packer but I’m going to try packing everything in a carry on 😬😂
instead of folding up your sweater, pack everything then lay the sweater over the top of everything you packed and tuck the edges in

Please don,t bother bringing liquids in the form of water, even if you bought it after security, into the bin it will also have to go before boarding
I fly every second week and im astounded that everyone is giving poor advice to infrequent travellers.
I’m traveling to Europe soon, it’s a 9 day trip and would be my first plane ride. Would checking in a bag be extra or over packing?
As for Europe:

Wipes are not considered liquid but, with makeup wipes I carry the dry wipes so that they remain in my bag even when I’m not traveling. The dry makeup wipes won’t dry out over time.
Even if they dry out you can just asf water and they work perfectly still
Moist towlets don't need to go in your 5 x 7 bag, but your toothpaste does. Nice use of compact cube and pouch packing!
Elle!!!!!!! * sigh of relief * Missed you!! Lol 😝😘
I missed you so much!! I'm so glad you're back!
This video convinced me to go buy eagle creek and whole buncha travel organizers
Wow, really impressed with this! I do carry on only all the time, but never for cold weather! Can't believe you got away without a coat this time of the year :0 Good holidays to you and your loved ones
wow! those compression bags are amazing!
Also, it's worth knowing that lots of airlines won't let you take a handbag and a carry on case... You have to pack down to one.
A majority of airlines now allow handbags to be taken on the plane so long as they fit under the seat in front of you. A handbag would be considered the one personal item allowed per passenger. These items include laptops, purses, cameras, coats, pillows, and similar items.
LeeRoyMelissa right, but what I was saying is that lots don't.

Assuming Elle has given up her UA-cam channel.
Would have been nice to have had a little heads up given that most of us have been invested and supported this channel for years! X
Michelle Kendall she posts regularly on her glam planner Facebook group.
Laura Staines No offense, but I wouldn't call clicking a play button on your smart phone an "investment"... She doesn't owe anyone anything.
Amazing video , please don't disappear again , miss u 😍
I've missed you on this channel! Love your packing videos so this was a nice treat! Hope you're doing well, Elle :)
My guess is that this bag weighs more than 10 kg.
QuiteContrary hmm! Not impossible! Try to put the big pieces in plastic bags and vacuum the air out! Good luck and have an amazing trip! 😊
Just take stuff for 10 days and wash it on your trip. :)
Look into compression bags that you roll the air out of and plan to do laundry
Hotels do laundry for you if you leave some in the appropriate bag. Also, you know there are stores all across Europe, right? We sell winter clothes.
Or honestly just get a bigger luggage and check it in 🤷🏻♀️
Wow..i'm so outdated. Those eagle creeks cubes look so useful. I need to check it out. Thank u for introducing it.
Used to be high quality videos. Now she never uploads anymore. Sad.
Cameron Hartline I'm in her planner group on Facebook and she never posts on this channel for certain reasons. I can't remember exactly what she said but on the planner channel she doesn't need to show her face. And she loves planning so it works for her but she knows a lot of people miss her videos on this channel ❤
Love this Elle! Definitely going to try out the compressors! Thanks for the tip!
I MISS YOUR VIDEOS ELLE!!
WOW! I had forgotten that I was suscribe, it's been sooo long!!
I have clicked on this but I didn't believe you actually did it!
I'm glad your back...ur the reason I started my own channel ... my girl
You give really useful tips. I learnt a lot from you Elle! :)
Thanks for the video! It really helped me to think how I should pack for the next trip. I'm so trying to find some kind of compression bag to make it easier to get more things along.
is this channel over or will you upload here again eventually???
So nice to see you back!
Out of all the "How to Pack Only in a Carry On" videos I've watched and articles I've read, this one has been by far the best and most helpful! Thank you making this video!
Welcome back Elle 💗💗💗
Hi Ms Elle Fowler, can you do a vlog for the first timer travelling in Europe? Guidelines in the airport (step by step).pls..
those packing cubes are GENIUS! I am totally doing that on my next trip. One question though... where are your purses? I find that purses and shoes always take up half of the stuff I bring, but I couldn't live without them. Also my DSLR would probably take up half of that carry on! lol
Toothpaste should go in with your liquids. But the wipes don't need to go in the liquids bag as they are wipes, not a liquid
This was so fun and helpful! Thanks Elle! I hope we see more videos from you ☺️
Where do you pack the shopping you do ?? Buy another bag or case?
Yeah for a new video on this channel! Also great to see that it can work with a carry-on =) Looking forward to vlogmas
Thanks for the tips. How much did your suitcase weigh? I can pack a minimal bag but it's hard to keep the weight down.
I had not heard of compression bags before. Definitely something to check into.
jrd they are great! Organize and simplify.
Would have liked to see the outfits you were able to do with the clothes you packed. Great video thank you for sharing
