Bought AOMEI Backupper Pro with lifetime updates seven years ago. Used it three-four times over the years, I appreciate it can be used on two systems at one time. Works well and has been good value, never had issues
OK so an update is called for. Aomei Backupper was not the source of the problem. Someone (ahem) managed to hit the tiny off button the the external drive. But Hasleo is working great! 😍😍
Remember imaging software like Macrium Reflect, Acronis etc allows you to install a new hard drive and restore the image to the new drive. This includes Windows and all the applications that were installed at the time that the image was created. Using Free FileSync will only restore those files that you sync'd to another location. It will not reinstall the operation system or applications. You will have to do that first and then restore your data.
Great video! In the MSP landscape, your tools set the standard. We've found our rhythm with reliable data backups and a solid BDR plan, a robust RMM, bulletproof cybersecurity, and Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX for voice solutions. This combination has been our key to success.
Thanks Brian. Back up your data everyone. Acronis use to be my go-to solution for creating back-ups. I now generally use the built in Windows system image creator, but this has proven to be very unreliable and doesn't always work as intended.
Stop using the build in Windows backup garbage asap. I am not going to bore you with the horrors I went through with that horrible software. As you said, it is unreliable. I have no idea what Microsoft devs were thinking, when they put in such unbelievable abnormal crap. It is criminal. They should be sued for it.
I use Aomei Backup. I bought the Pro version for $27 a few years ago during a promotion to users of the free version. I'd like to see you cover the Pro version in depth of all it's features. Thank you for your videos!
To a removable (hard or thumb) drive: A Robocopy script. It also can be done automatically via a Scheduled Task. To a DVD, Robocopy and CDBurnerXP. It's worked for me for 15 years.
Good video Brian! i been using Aomei and macrium for a whyer they are good products, one thing i like better about Aomei products is they offer the customer a lifetime licenses version for a little more money what a great deal lifetime updates and upgrades for life can't beat that :) Thanks for always sharing with us!💖👍😎JP

I use Cobian Reflector and choose the data folders that are important to me which are saved on an external hard drive. Incremental backups or full backups can be configured along with a time of day, week or other option.
I have used the free version of Macrium Reflect for years. It is set up to be incremental and I use it to make a clone every other month or so. This way if worse comes to worse I can just plug in the back up SSD and be up in running in a half hour. I just decided to pay for it. Once paid I just entered the license number and it went from free to paid. No hassles!
Backup newbie here. I guess the obvious reason to ask this question is, why not use the Windows system backup software? From a standpoint of simplicity, would it not be easier to configure in its native environment? I'm confused. I just purchased a 4 bay DAS unit configured to RAID 5, and I'm just looking for a sweet and simple solution to do incremental backups during my workday. Thanks for any and all responses, I'm looking to learn before doing something wrong right out of the gate.
🙏I was just reading about reflect, I found it last year when cloning a laptop SSD, the GPT/MBR came in handy. EOL is sad and the price tag is a bit much for an occasional user. Please do a vid on Hasleo.👍✌
Britec The biggest issue I'm having is making a bootable usb flash drive. The other is I want an image file not a clone software. But the bootable usb is way harder than it should be for me I have had no luck making.
I use and recommend the IDrive cloud backup software and service. The cloud backup service does require an annual payment, but you get peace of mind knowing that your backup is safe in another location. Unfortunately, just having a local backup is insufficient as the local backup can be lost due to burglary, fire, storms, and even power surges. I use IDrive for both creating a local backup and a cloud backup.
I don't recommend idrive, it's unreliable. I went to recover my data after a crash and could not find my files. It was just an empty folder tree. Support couldn't help. I'm switching to Backblaze for online backup.
Hi, I have a question about Macrium Reflect: I have cloned a number of HDDs to SSD with it, but on the last occasion, while cloning a 500 Gb HDD to a 2Tb SSD, the cloning went OK, except for the fact that the SSD was also reduced to 500 Gb. I retried a few times, the result being that the SSD packed it in. Do you know any way I can avoid this from happening in the future? I use Windows 11. Thank you in advance. Frankie. PS. Keep up the good work.
I just start with sing Haslo as I need bitlocker support it's great software but I hope they update to where you can chose high compression toake backup smaller
I tried Ashampoo Backup Pro 16 but it took days and days to finish on a 5 TB external drive, and then when it tried to verify the backup it said the backup was corrupted. So I'm still looking for a reliable software. I'll try the ones in the video.
Is there a way or a software that just copies the folder and files in the original source structure so when i connect the "destination" hard disk to another pc i can read those folder and files normally, without me needing the backup software to read or restore those files? I can not find one. I tried many and they all, after the backup, create ONE SINGLE FILE that can only be read from the software that created it. And if i connect that external HD to another pc, I can not read those copied files coz the backup software is not installed in that second pc.
UrBackup lets you do what your asking for. It does both Partial/Full File/Folder Backups and Partial/Full Image Backups. Best of all, its free open source. You don't have to worry about them going out of business or changing to a paid subscription as many others have done.
synctoy is simple, stable and free, but requires a little work to work with W10, For linux, one can use grsync for remote back-up, while for local back-up, timeshift is very good.
I highly rec recommend the Aomei. If you pay for the pro version, you will be able to restore to a different system, useful if you want to transfer to a different computer.
Acronis is gone to a yearly subscription model. You have to have a valid subscription I believe for the product to work unless perhaps you boot off USB flash drive to do you imaging.
Thank you for the video.... This is my sons first PC build and he wanted not only speed but a backup option.... I admit I'm a bit old school so I went with two 2TB NVME drives and a 4TB 7200rpm drive. He has a 2TB NVME for his OS (Win 10Pro), pictures, videos, and documents. The second 2TB NVME is for his games from Steam, Origins, etc.. I am trying to find a software to clone each of the NVME drives to the 4TB drive (compressed) as backups.
ive used rescuezilla many times for ssd and nvme, but i have gotten errors doing images from nvme,,you must have secure boot off in bios..disable hibernation in windows and disable fast boot i believe..So now i use rescuezilla strictly for cloning....i have great results with cloning and images with easus partition master pro...have had no errors yet that i remember...I definitely recommend those 2 and rescuezilla is free and so easy to use. partition pro is not free but well worth the price...Ive used free minitool partition and i may consider purchasing it...

Well Brian I suspect that all of these free software's will eventually do as Macrium are doing now. Well Brian I suspect that all of these free software's will eventually do as Macrium are doing now. I myself use AOMEI and I find it less confusing and easier to use than Macrium as I have used the latter a few times and have been very frustrated when trying figure out what the program wanted me to do as I find it very convoluted when setting it up to backup or whatever.
Cool
Thanks
Why the woman in the thumbnail?
I think it's his wife.
To lure in horny, young men. I'm an old geezer. I had to go and check the thumbnail you were referring to, as I never noticed. I was lured in by the channel name.
robocopy xD
change your video title to say "which" instead of "what." it's called proper grammar.
