    Listening to several top archers talk about reaching 50 meters with low poundage, I was surprised that no one mentioned using the bow shelf rather than the point. I don't know where I read about this method , but it's out there .

      Mesopotamia -IQ I agree 100%. I’ve learned more from watching Mr Demmer shoot than almost anyone else out there. I’ve learned to be a lot more careful about preparing the shot. Take the time to nock it correctly and place the draw hand where you want it before you do anything else. It’s helped me immensely!

    I'm a barebow archer; I shoot split finger because I would prefer to gap shoot than do 3 under. That said, after watching so many barebow archers, I'm still trying to understand why my coach has me anchoring under the side of my jawline instead of the side of my cheekbone.

    • @tonygedalovitch8958
      @tonygedalovitch8958 5 років тому

      Is he a bare bow archer?
      JD3 shoots the way he does because it works for him, we all have a slightly different style, our faces are different shapes, you will have to experiment a bit and find what anchor works for you and is repeatable.

    • @darlenelopez5632
      @darlenelopez5632 5 років тому

      @@tonygedalovitch8958 Hi Tony. No, the coach (level 4) shoots primarily Olympic, and he teaches all styles, but most of his students are compound or Olympic shooters. Even his family shoot Olympic. I agree, we are all different with different body structures. I want to trust my coach, but its hard when I see all top shooters anchoring along the side of their face.

      I love the Black Widow, but then I go split fingers for 100 yards and three under for everything else, if you don't shoot split fingers then I hear the Yost tabs are very good but as with so many things in this sport it is what you feel comfortable and confident with.
