On the whole Grummz situation I just want to quote Arch:

The fact that Nick and his allies were in the chat to harass Grummz is pretty scummy. Interesting how Nick only wanted to come on today to create drama but wasnt interested in coming on tomorrow for a conversation. He is such low life.

Even if this was the address of an office building and not the home address of Grummz, people who say this wasn't doxxing need explain the following to me; What could possibly the intention to widely publicize an address which wasn't widely available befor? If its no big deal, why do it? Who would be interested in this? If the intent isn't malevolent then what is it?
Grummz not filing police reports and taking them to court is what enables them. They see weakness, they will never stop.

Easy for a youtube commenter sitting in a chair with nothing to lose to say. I don't think you realize what is illegal and what is legal, and what is actually involved in a proper lawsuit: ungodly amount of money, time, effort, nerves. Also absolutely zero guarantee you're going to win AND almost no chance you're actually going to get anything back for your efforts.
If it was that easy, people would be doing it all the time. Unfortunately, we live in a world in which you have next to no recourse against such things. Unless you're a powerful person and are filthy rich, you're screwed.
Sadly thing acutely have to be really bad otherwise you are seen as wasting the polices time and then risking them not coming or listening to you when something does happen.
Doxing is not illegal in the US so that wouldn't do anything. If there are to be consequences then it needs to be outside the courts.
You really start to wonder when there is a blatant double standard being enforced on these platforms. There’s no question that these people’s motivation to remove Grummz is political, and that his opponents will stop at nothing to silence him.
It's called Repressive Tolerance. It's a core tenet of leftism. It basically boils down to "my team can do nothing wrong, your team can do nothing right." James Lindsay as well as the Podcast of the Lotus Eaters have done videos on it. I believe Arch brought it up before on Side Scrollers as well. The Left will never apply the same standard to their own, deliberately.

What does he has company address same as home address having to do with how he runs his business? Great many of e.g. todays huge technology companies have started in someone home/garage. E.g. companies like Hewlett and Packard, Apple, Google or Amazon all started in someone's garage so that means they were run like jokes?
When you do not have huge money flows and you are starting something you save where you can which is actually wise way to run things to keep expenses low as possible. That is OPPOSITE of running it like a joke.
Also what any of do with criticism? What "criticism" is some random guy obsessing over Grummz and gathering information about him? Whole thing seems to have started when Grummz said something over the internet and guy started some personal campaign around him.
Is someone gathering all information about you, your family, your work etc. new form of criticism I am not aware?
Craig is overly generous. The sooner you can see that it's a war, the better prepared you'll be. Our opposition already sees it as a war. They already see us as enemy combatants. Pretending it is anything else only disadvantages ourselves. That doesn't mean we need to use all of their tactics. Just because they will attack civilians and use civilians as shields doesn't mean we need to do the same, but we need to treat it as a war where they are the enemy combatants.

The fact that Nick even asked for it DM's means he is rewarding the behavior. It's not hard to contact Grummz and there is no need to solicit or distribute such information.
Nick Caldera crossed the wrong line today. For the entirety of the Internet, both sides agree that when you dox someone’s address, you are the bad guy in this situation. If he spent ANY amount of time online, Nick should know this and gone out of his way to avoid this.
If he actually had a brain, he would’ve realized this was the WORST thing you could do right now as the CEO of Second Wind, a brand new company that could’ve replaced the old guard of IGN, Kotaku, etc. Now that he’s done this, he’s put the livelihood of his employees at risk because who is gonna trust Second Wind at this point?
I went to bat for him when he got fired from the Escapist, because frankly it was a bit of a bullcrap reason. But now I wonder if there was more going on than he was letting on. Either way, I’m done with anything he has to offer.

One thing you can do when creating smaller companies & LLCs is there are people who make it their job to be the mailbox & address for an LLC just so that it does not end up being your home, Nick Rekieta talked about it on a stream a while ago so I don't remember all the details of how it works, but while it might be too late as the dox is out there, it's still something to look into for future.

This the same guy by the way that everyone at Second Wind loved so much that they left the Escapist with him when he was fired. If you're like me and followed Yahtzee over there it might be time to think about giving him up. They are not upset about video games. This is a mistake people make. It's not the pixels on the screen but what that game represents, access/influence. Each game sold is access/influence to a mind potentially a child. If you can change the children you can change a culture. If they can make the changes then that puts them in control. I used to work in the business insurance division of a major insurance company. I'd guess more than fifty percent of the addresses for businesses were residential houses. For businesses where the nature of the business doesn't demand a dedicated space, the owner's home address is the norm. Anyone who can't make that connection and refuses to accept that the "corporate address" is a private residence is not only a fool, but incapable of basic use of google maps.

@HeyItsRicki85 Doubt it. The number of likes is staying visible and that's the only thing a browser extension could return by statistical methods like the youtube dislike extension uses. Figuring out what tweets someone liked without twitter telling you is going to be near impossible unless they retweet or reply to everything they like.

My friend who’s lived in Japan for over a decade at this point has mentioned to me that things like cross dressing guys are still seen as a oddity among the population. The entry in TTYD was almost assuredly done for humor originally but because its a basically a popculture ref thing over there and it was written out in NA since its was pretty much unheard of mainstream, served no deep service to the plot, it was easily removed. Now because of the controversy surrounding this in the west and it being not only a kids game but a Mario title, they actually had even more of a reason to avoid it imo.
An oddity? Yes. And one that appears far more often in pop culture than in reality.
