Solder won’t stick to the pots?
Solder won’t stick to the spring claw?
This is what I do to make it much easier for the solder to stick.
Also make sure you have a good tip on your soldering iron, and it is heating properly.
I recommend at least a 30watt iron.
Thanks for watching!

Hey man just want you to know that after a year of you posting this, its still useful. Thank you very much
Your welcome, I’ve been doing it a long time and it will work. Also get yourself a good solder iron, not a cheap one. More than 15watts. Mine is a 30-65watt.
Good tip. Thanks! Happy New Year!👍😎🎸🎶
Thanks dart!! I’m sure you probably new that already… I just got done wiring the LP. Doing a setup right now and soon I’ll have a review and demo of it. Hope you had a good Christmas and Happy New Year!👍🎶🎸
Awesome thx for the tip. Have a great New Year.
Your welcome Tony!! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I hope this works, I've been trying to build a guitar and soldering to the pots is by far the hardest part for me, its depressing really
I have been soldering guitars since the 80’s. I used to get frustrated too until I tried this. Make sure you have a good soldering iron too, 30-60watts, 15 will work eventually but it takes a long time to get hot enough. Use a clean tip and tin it first. Hope this helps. You can do it!
Super helpful thank you sir!
No problem, glad to help
yes remove all oxidation first
Volume pots need to come with a tab to solder the grounds. Save all this crap. I have ruffled my pots, soldered pots, still won't stick, even tried flux. Still won't stick. Its not working for me.
Maybe you need a new soldering iron. I had a cheap 15watt one for a while and it took forever to work. Now I have a 60watt one and it is so much easier with it. It does help to scratch up where you are going to solder.
