Katelyn Rice them curls gotta eat too!
Katelyn Rice saaaameee ughhh
this made me laugh so hard. curly girl problems.
FOR REAL
Same girl same
When I deep-condition, what I like to do is tie a plastic bag around my head, then add a winter hat for insulation. Then I go off to the campus rec center and work out looking like a dork because my body heat will really help open my cuticle (low-po life... sigh), and that way I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. True story. I actually do this.
xbeautyandthegeekx hhahaha good thinking!
Curly Kat Marie I liked your logic
Curly Kat Marie omg me too😱
i do something kinda similar
OK THE WINTER HAT THING IS GENIUS AND IM DOING IT RN AHH
One section of your hair...... is like all of mine ;(
+sterre gockel me too :(
Jacinta Boudreau you need more protein. Try the greek yogurt thing curlypenny discussed.
her whole hair is like one section of mine lmao

bewarejoki so happy for you!
CurlyPenny er ma gerd, just found out you speak spanisch? Now i'm totally in love with you. I'm cereal. XD greetings from austria :)
bewarejoki haha well I am mexican haha xD
Another great video! I do a deep treatment at least once a week, I love the Eden by Bodyworks natural deep conditioner from Sally's. It's a natural product and has no silicones or sulfates. I also love that it is so slick and thick in my hair, my hair is thick so it's hard to find a silicone free conditioner that really works for me without having to use a ton of product :)
Yeah sameeee
i just deep conditioned doing this with my regular conditioner and now my curls are softer than ever i'm so happy
How do you keep your hair from getting dry and tangled between washes? Or is it just mine that does that...
Mine does that too! I find just every second or third day I wet my hair with a spray bottle and add a leave in conditioner or a hair creme and scrunch and plop
Wear a protective style overnight and sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase and refresh hair with a leave in or extra product and plop for abt 15 mins
caroline hammond Me too
I keep my hair in a bun til the next wash day or until the bun falls apart
No that is EXACTLY what happens when I shampoo NO MATER WHAT
penny i stoped using silicones and straightner and i am waiting for my hair to be loooong and growth like yours
Salma Flis haha aw good luck! make sure ALL your products be sulfate and silicone free
Cute profile pic💖

I just discovered a week ago that I have curly hair. It used to be stick straight and wouldn't even hold a curl done with heat.
So I'm a complete newbie to curly hair care and you are helping me a lot! Thank you so much!
+Marieke vd Veen
yay welcome to the curl world, its tons of fun :)
Even though i am older than you and from another country, I found you looking for solutions to my rebel curly hair and i must say from all the people i have seen, you are the best. You are friendly, funny and clever! I like all your tips and in just a few days my hair looks so much better. Thanks! XX

Im so happy i found your channel! I have hairs that curls exactly like yours but i'm waiting for it to be a little bit longer ( all on my shoulder) so i can stop using heat care (because right now my curl are just too crazy).. very good video, you explained the routine step and step clearly and to the point. i'm definitely trying this out.
Hey thank you so much for making such awesome videos and teaching me how to love my curls and how to take care of it.
Hi Penny, HUGS... Thank you for caring & sharing. I do my weekly oils combined with olive, grapeseed, avocado, Orange oil & almond oils etc., then add Argan & sometimes Jojoba to my scalp/hair, then spritz some water with conditioner to get my hair wet, then put wet towel in microwave for about 60 seconds on each side, then put on my head IF not to HOT, then I put a shower cap/bag over that, then I have 2 towel HOT & in my dryer, then put 1 of the dry hot towel on my head for about 10-15 minutes, then switch to the other HOT towel in the dryer, then throw the cooled off towel back in the dryer & repeat for 2 hrs. Then I take all off of my head, comb with wide tooth comb & let dry, then add more oils & massage into scalp/hair, then sleep in this all night, then gently shampoo/low poo, then conditioners added... My hair has gotten so soft, totally AMAZING & so WELCOMING & NEEDED... Take care 💞🎵🌷🌺 🌸 😆 👏 👍 💫 🌟 💛
Girl I just came across your videos. You are hilarious! I love your personality! Thanks for all the tips!
I have been using silicone free and sulfate free conditioner for almost a month now, and the results are amazing! Thank you so much❤ i'll try that deep conditioner, the results look great!
Sol Martinez
Ok so how do you keep your hair from looking like a rats nest 😂 between washes because with mine I have to get it wet or something for it to even look good so I’m so confused on what you do between washes
I really wanted to say: Thank you so much for making youtube videos! I follow many youtubers and no one could make me understand and control my hair like you. I never thought that my hair could ever look this good ^_^
BrokenWing yay so happy for you!

So happy i found your channel rightnow im starting my hair journey today !
I starter co-washing my hair last month and it responded very well. I haven't clarified it yet since then and every time I'll wash it it just feels so soft I feel amazed. So I guess I won't be needing deep-conditioning for a while : D

xdubdubx thats great that I can be helpful for both sides! thank you :D
I like every video you made and i can watch them over and over again, your so awesome!! :D
no one understands the troubles that curly girls have to go through lol
Exactly sometimes our hair has a mind of its own 😭 I dont know what my hair wants im like crazy researching moisturizers, protein masks, co wash, deep conditioning methods my hair doesn't work with me 😖😂
Do you have to wash your hair before doing the deep conditioner???
she said it a personal choice. just do what works 4 u. hahsh this comment is from a year ago, hows ur hair doing now?
Great video! Definitely gonna try this because my hair is really frizzy, thaaaanks ! :D
Erika Sanozido
Great video as always Penny! My hair loves honey and conditioner! I also use a thermal heating cap :D
Waterlily716 thanks!
Hey girl. you have really amazing tips. As well as your hair is beautiful.
I have a really really messy and fizzy dry curly hair. I straighten abit from the front about a year a back.
But yesterday I cut all those straightened areas of my hair and started following your advices. It'll take sometime to recover. But I'll have nice curls soon thanks to you. (Y)
Uththara Deshamani aw thanks! lemme know how it goes!
Hi I just wanted to say I'm so glad I found your channel! After 2 years of flat ironing my hair I'm going to go natural. I have 3b/3c hair. Do you reccommend the Shea Moisture products? I've heard good things but I really value your opinion.
LOVEEEE your videos you deff have a new sub!
Where did you get your cap?!? & can you make a video on how you deal with second or third day hair please!!
I love your videos! They have helped me with my hair in so many ways, thank you!!
Losena Crispin
When you say "rinse it out" do you mean that you only rinse with water or do you wash with shampoo, conditioner etc ?
Super helpful by the way thank you :)
Only rinse with water.
I love your videos so much they help like crazy, do you have any suggestions on colored curly hair?
Vanessa Galeano do these treatments on a weekly basis :)
I learn a lot from your videos :-D I would also like to know if its best to brush your hair after you take a shower, or when you dry your hair. Keep up the awesome videos!
Kayley Carter thanks :3 if you brush your hair do it BEFORE your shower, and dont do it again after your shower, you WILL get severe frizz.
Loved it!!! Quick question, did you shampoo it out or just rinsed it out?
I rinsed it out and then shampooed and continued my routine as usual :3
I love your hair I saw your video on how you grow your hair and it works
I deep condition my hair once a week because is very damaged (i bleach and dye my ends) i usually use a conditioner that it only have different oils and is very thick (it's also sylicone and sulfate free) to that i add olive and coconut oil. i usually apply it at night so the next morning i wash it out and my hair is all shiny and without frizz for days. Love the video (:
Ignacia Chacon nice!
hi penny :) I love you!!!! I love all your advise. thank you so much for everything! ❤❤ one question after you wash the deep conditioner off do you have to use an other conditioner after washing it or no?
Hey. I've watched this video a few times over the past year... I love it. Quick question... Do u apply conditioner after u deep condition or just rinse out? Thanks.
Heyy I loove your videos!💕 Could you please make a review on the Garnier Original Remedies Argan Mask and Leave in?🙏🏽
Gonna try this today.. I cut my relaxed hair 2 weeks now. And heatless, so far I see a better difference on my curly hair.. Thank you for your videos Penny 😁😁
I just changed my profile picture with my natural curls! If wanna see it. Thanks!
marites pilapil awesome!
CurlyPenny since your doing hot oil once a week. Are you doing deep treatment every week as well? Just curious..
marites pilapil I dont do those things anymore :3 I just dont need them that much. I only show them for video tutorials. If I do a treatment its a protein treatment :)
👍👍👍 gotcha! Thanks. 😀
Do you deep condition on a wash day? If yes, do you still use regular condition in the shower?
Do you deep condition on a non-shampoo day?
You should deep condition when you clarify.
I love your vids! I've been getting into taking care of my hair more. I use a sulfate and paraben free shampoo, do hair masks once a week, stay away from heat, and do no heat curling methods since my hair is straight ❤️
+Naomi Marquez
you have straight hair and youre natural? cool!
Hey penny I have very thick curly hair and I just yesterday did a treatment on my hair and it looked great accept I put coconut oil to and olive oil combined all In one the results looked awesome thanks for the vid;):)
yocie187 yay!
Hi Penny! I was wondering if you could make a video explaining what deep conditioning, protein treatments, and hair masks are, and if you could explain the differences between them because I get reallly confused. Ps, I love your videos!❤️
Hey penny loved the vid ☺️ my hair is growing super fast thanks to u I will never stop watching ur videos keep it up 👍..........I heat style like every three months is that damaging
Mala Francis :) hmmm... if you dont notice any split ends youre fine
Thanks penny i trim only when i c split ends 😊
I really liked the video!!! Can you make a video on maybe how to get rid of greasy hair??
Montanna Styles thanks! and sure :)
I honestley love your videos. I have hair just like yours. and these help so much
+Madalyn creed
thank you! I am glad I can help
Can you do a video on protective hairstyles for curly hair?
ps: love your videos =D!
several things. 1) where do you get that head wrap thingie that you used??? i want one too! 2) how did you wrap ur hair with it??? 3) can you put a oil at your roots (like coconut oil) when deep conditioning and you use a conditioner for the rest of your hair and 4) you do realize you are telling a curly gurl to part her hair right??? thats impossible!!! (at least for me ) ;) love you much! your the best!
MissLadyYuki
1) I think I got it at walmart a longggg time ago
2) and yes you can do that :3
3) its not that impossible haha. Just section it with clips :3
can you make a video on any hair products you specifically use? especially shampoo/conditioner?
***** I use Deep Cleansing African Black Soap Shampoo by Shea Moisture :)
Hello! I am a new subscriber. Live your videos! I never heard of over conditioning your hair?!? My hair is dry. I am curious about over conditioning my hair because I try not to shampoo my hair and put lots of conditioner. Please share more signs of this... Not sure what you mean by stretchy hair
Can you do a video about shea moisture jbco line plss
penny is it possible to have healthy curly hair even if i still shampoo and conditioner with sulfate in it?
Yes ofc. Just dont wash your hair all the time with sulflates, wash your hair every 1-2 weeks, and you will be good
foodlovesme8 -or you can get another bottle put like 1/3 of your sulfate shampoo and fill the whole bottle with water. That will decrease the amount of sulfate and it will help a lot.
@@mxriamn that's a really good trick man🥺
Irrelevant but i like your pfp
I love your channel and your gorgeous. I wish I had your hair but I guess I'll have to settle down for straight hair.
Could you just use a small towel to trap in the heat? I love your videos btw they saved my hair!!!
+heyitsabbey3 sure
I don't get what you mean by stretchy hair--I've never heard of such a thing!
If ur hair stretches and breaks easily
She also means if your hair is limp.
Can you please do a video on types of hairsprays/gels that work for curly hair? :)
Tia Nicole I actually dont recommend hairspray, it is extremely drying. As for gel I recommend DevaCurl, LA Looks, and Fructis Garnier Clean :)
I'm so happy I found this channel! Important question: Did your hair start growing after the very first month of you cutting all your damaged hair off? If so how many inches (usually 0.5" as a normal rate, which of course I don't have)
***** Yes :3 as soon as I cut my hair I stopped heat styling and trimming and just let it do its thing. I grew over 10 inches in 3 years :3
Wow! So after only one month of having chopped your damaged hair it had already grown a little :) Thanks!
yepp! but the key ingredient is to not heat style! the less you heat style, the more growth you will see!
Yeah I haven't touched my hair with heat in 3-4 years and I never will! Thanks Penny :)
Hey CurlyPenny loove your videos!! So happy I stumbled upon your channel woop! I do however have some questions and ideas that I can't seem to find on your channel yet..
1) I have changed my hairstyle a lot over the years and right now I am setting my hair be free and curly, ditched all my heating tools and sulfates and silicones, basically after your channel I'm left with one organic conditioner & bunch of oils.. :D
BUT my hair is dyed blonde and at least the moment I do not wish to change that. I have heard multiple times about shampoo for "blonde hair" (which I have been using) to prevent my hair darkening(!) due to regular shampoos and conditioners.. Now when I'm using the organic conditioner as co-washer I wander will it darken my hair again and is there any way to prevent this from happening? I know your hair is not blonde but maybe you have some knowledge about this. (Sorry for the novel-length comment.. :D)
2) When I airdry my hair it has volume and is curly, but the roots are a bit weighted down - any tips to get more volume in the roots whilst air drying..? :)
thanks a lot for everything already!!! :) cheers
Kat.
Katrīna Ģelze Hi!
To my knowledge cowashing will not fade your hair dye. For the most part they are acidic which help the hair shaft stay closed thus keeping in the color. Thats why we hear people say to not shampoo after dying your hair because shampoos are alkaline and open the hair shaft thus making the color bleed.
As for volume you can by duckbill clips and clip your roots and let your hair airdry with the clips :)
CurlyPenny thanks so much (y) Gonna try them out! :))
Hey penniel, you may recognise me (it's all ghee if you don't aha!) bug I have a request... Could you please do a ''meet my family'' type of video? I would soo love that 💞💞💞 love Sophie xx
I never let my hair down, I even sleep with it up Pretty sure this is causing ldamage to my hair. It's just so blah. Im glad I found your videos, maybe one day, I'll have the confidence you do.
You are so freaking gorgeous!!!!! I love you girl lol and all yur videos. Such a good inspiration.
jeanie tice thank you :')
Your hair is amaaaazzzziingg!
My phone was being a butthead and died. But i finally got home and charged it. So yay. I love you so much i look up to you. This video helped alot
Rawr Rae aw thank you
in that first photo because of the light she kind of looked like Kim Kardashian
Here in 2020 watching legit baby penny
Thanks for the great video Penny, when you wash out the deep conditioner do you shampoo it out or more like a rinse?? Thanks ☺️
nancy marques I do my whole shower routine with shampoo and all that jazz :)
Does the Deep Treatment Masque by Shea Moisture also work as a good leave in conditioner?
Is deep conditioner and deep treatment just the same? I want to buy one but i'm afraid of buying the wrong product and end up messing my hair more :(
Samantha Friginal it's the same thing:)
I believe the the deep conditioner is usually for moisture but the deep treatment is for repairing damaged hair ; it treats the hair if you know what I mean 😊
No paraben from today! But I can't find no alcohol conditioner here where I am :((
My hair is now in turban with mask because you inspired me. Thank you so much ❤️
Hey Curly Penny can you make a video on how to make dry curly hair moisturized and healthy? Thank you (:
Your videos have really inspired my to go natural. Starting today am throwing out all my unhealthy produce and staring over. lol you'll probably be getting a lot of questions from me later.
***** Ill be ready to give you answers :)
OMG can't believe how gorgeous your hair is! I already changed my hair products so I'm waiting for the changes Hahahaha. Jajajaja tanks for your videos we really appreciate the time to help us 😃. I have a question Hahaha do you speak Spanish?
Katy Gutidi thanks! and yes I do :3
You give the best advice ☺️
You are so pretty! Can u do a 'Winter after shower hairroutine' ?
Sam Lindsay thanks
Oh man you are awesome...i have a couple of questions..how often should i clarify cleanse? And, do i deep condition with my regular conditioner thesame way you did here? Thanks in advance :)
Hannah Hernandez Clarifying is a personal choice because everyones hair reacts differently to build up. If your hair gets build up quickly then you should clarify twice a month. If you get minimal build up then once a month is fine :) also, yes, you can use your regular conditioner the way I used mine
Thanks so much :) and also one more question, is it okay if I wash my hair with baking soda once a week instead of a sulfate free shampoo?
MsStephh9 jess :3
I just washed my hair and im gonna try doing a mask in the next wash day luv
I was wondering I'm really confused everyone says not to wash your hair every week because its really drying and damaging. I no longer use a sulfate shampoo so does that mean it would still dry out my hair snd damage it if I washed it everyday? I hope that makes sense.
laylaluvspb55 I know what you mean. If you want to wash your hair everyday go ahead, whatever works best for you.
ohh I've been looking for this, an all natural diy hair treatment mask. they sound like something I eat for breakfast though lol! btw you just said oil, but can I use coconut oil/ cream instead? also is it correct to assume that we must mash/ puree these together to make the mask right?
steelsheen yes and yes :D
