    When I deep-condition, what I like to do is tie a plastic bag around my head, then add a winter hat for insulation. Then I go off to the campus rec center and work out looking like a dork because my body heat will really help open my cuticle (low-po life... sigh), and that way I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. True story. I actually do this.

    Another great video! I do a deep treatment at least once a week, I love the Eden by Bodyworks natural deep conditioner from Sally's. It's a natural product and has no silicones or sulfates. I also love that it is so slick and thick in my hair, my hair is thick so it's hard to find a silicone free conditioner that really works for me without having to use a ton of product :)

    Hi Penny, HUGS... Thank you for caring & sharing. I do my weekly oils combined with olive, grapeseed, avocado, Orange oil & almond oils etc., then add Argan & sometimes Jojoba to my scalp/hair, then spritz some water with conditioner to get my hair wet, then put wet towel in microwave for about 60 seconds on each side, then put on my head IF not to HOT, then I put a shower cap/bag over that, then I have 2 towel HOT & in my dryer, then put 1 of the dry hot towel on my head for about 10-15 minutes, then switch to the other HOT towel in the dryer, then throw the cooled off towel back in the dryer & repeat for 2 hrs. Then I take all off of my head, comb with wide tooth comb & let dry, then add more oils & massage into scalp/hair, then sleep in this all night, then gently shampoo/low poo, then conditioners added... My hair has gotten so soft, totally AMAZING & so WELCOMING & NEEDED... Take care 💞🎵🌷🌺 🌸 😆 👏 👍 💫 🌟 💛

    I deep condition my hair once a week because is very damaged (i bleach and dye my ends) i usually use a conditioner that it only have different oils and is very thick (it's also sylicone and sulfate free) to that i add olive and coconut oil. i usually apply it at night so the next morning i wash it out and my hair is all shiny and without frizz for days. Love the video (:

    several things. 1) where do you get that head wrap thingie that you used??? i want one too! 2) how did you wrap ur hair with it??? 3) can you put a oil at your roots (like coconut oil) when deep conditioning and you use a conditioner for the rest of your hair and 4) you do realize you are telling a curly gurl to part her hair right??? thats impossible!!! (at least for me ) ;) love you much! your the best!

      Yes ofc. Just dont wash your hair all the time with sulflates, wash your hair every 1-2 weeks, and you will be good

      foodlovesme8 -or you can get another bottle put like 1/3 of your sulfate shampoo and fill the whole bottle with water. That will decrease the amount of sulfate and it will help a lot.

    I'm so happy I found this channel! Important question: Did your hair start growing after the very first month of you cutting all your damaged hair off? If so how many inches (usually 0.5" as a normal rate, which of course I don't have)

    • @PennyTovar
      @PennyTovar  9 років тому

      ***** Yes :3 as soon as I cut my hair I stopped heat styling and trimming and just let it do its thing. I grew over 10 inches in 3 years :3

    Hey CurlyPenny loove your videos!! So happy I stumbled upon your channel woop! I do however have some questions and ideas that I can't seem to find on your channel yet..
    1) I have changed my hairstyle a lot over the years and right now I am setting my hair be free and curly, ditched all my heating tools and sulfates and silicones, basically after your channel I'm left with one organic conditioner & bunch of oils.. :D
    BUT my hair is dyed blonde and at least the moment I do not wish to change that. I have heard multiple times about shampoo for "blonde hair" (which I have been using) to prevent my hair darkening(!) due to regular shampoos and conditioners.. Now when I'm using the organic conditioner as co-washer I wander will it darken my hair again and is there any way to prevent this from happening? I know your hair is not blonde but maybe you have some knowledge about this. (Sorry for the novel-length comment.. :D)
    2) When I airdry my hair it has volume and is curly, but the roots are a bit weighted down - any tips to get more volume in the roots whilst air drying..? :)
    thanks a lot for everything already!!! :) cheers
    Kat.

    • @PennyTovar
      @PennyTovar  9 років тому

      Katrīna Ģelze Hi!
      To my knowledge cowashing will not fade your hair dye. For the most part they are acidic which help the hair shaft stay closed thus keeping in the color. Thats why we hear people say to not shampoo after dying your hair because shampoos are alkaline and open the hair shaft thus making the color bleed.
      As for volume you can by duckbill clips and clip your roots and let your hair airdry with the clips :)

    • @PennyTovar
      @PennyTovar  9 років тому

      Hannah Hernandez Clarifying is a personal choice because everyones hair reacts differently to build up. If your hair gets build up quickly then you should clarify twice a month. If you get minimal build up then once a month is fine :) also, yes, you can use your regular conditioner the way I used mine

    I was wondering I'm really confused everyone says not to wash your hair every week because its really drying and damaging. I no longer use a sulfate shampoo so does that mean it would still dry out my hair snd damage it if I washed it everyday? I hope that makes sense.

    • @PennyTovar
