It's easy to attribute one man's contribution to another man when all 5 men can contribute any and everything to the mix! Reactors regularly forget that Chance was the bass singer in his previous band... why? Because these guys probably don't care who gets the credit since none of them is driven by ego. Chance is more of an introvert, especially when on stage with extraverts like Tim and Austin! Love these guys! The sum is greater than the parts.
Jeremy, you've finally seen the light on Ol' Chance 🤣 He brings such a unique set of skills that make Home Free complete in my eyes. As much as Chris means to Home Free, it's the addition of Chance that was the breakthrough moment for the band, artistically.
Chance was the bass for his previous group, and the way that Chance and Tim swap bass lines without a hitch, and you can barely tell, if you can at all, when that happens if you aren't watching a performance.
A lot of people say Home Free brings new life to old songs. And you really hit on just how deep that statement is. You notice things (sometimes lyrics) that you never noticed before, even though you THOUGHT you knew the song. They really are masters of their craft!!!
I love the clarity that HomeFree always has in the lyrics of their songs. I have never had to look up one of their songs to just figure out what is being said. Ok, once on Sea Shanty medley. When Austin says " Napoleon of the West". I was never sure of that first word.😂 Thanks for your HomeFree Fridays. Love them.❤✌️😊
Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout--has brought along many HF converts. (The editing is unbelievable; it's not immediately obvious that these performances did not even take place in the same state!!) Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!!
FYI, this was done in tribute to Kenny after he passed...obviously a friendship developed after doing "Children go where I send thee". I can only imagine what else they would have done if Kenny were still here. I look forward to them doing more collabs with established artists and would love to have them collab with Dolly on a version of 9-5. Pentatonix already partnered with Dolly on Jolene....and won a grammy for that.
These guys are amazing & always put a smile on my face. They were very creative during quarantine. This was recorded in their separate homes & then edited together. They did a great job of this song & nice tribute to Kenny Rogers. And Adam was awesome as usual with his vocal percussion. The lyrics are talking about learning life lessons & uses gambling as a metaphor.
Jeremy - I'll say this about Chance...what he adds to this group is an intangible presence that makes him...IMHO...the MVP of the group. I know I'll get crucified for saying this - everybody has their favorite but the way he adds his part(s) as well as solo vocals...if he wasn't there, the group as a whole would be less effective. I had the privilege of meeting all of them at a Meet-N-Greet in Atlanta and they all are just plain, unpretentious guys who are the REAL DEAL. BTW - you have to look at a short video entitled "Between Two Tim's" that came out right after Chance joined the group. I almost wet my pants I laughed so hard at both Tim and Chance - they could have their own comedy special for real.... Anyway - I really appreciate your reactions to these guys - you are real dude, and honest and I can see why the Ninja thinks you're the Top Dude!! Keep up the great work! RichieC (Atlanta
This was during Covid and they did a good job. Looks like Rob won to me. I used to gamble but lost too much so I stopped but recently my husband and I were on the road and stopped at some restaurants that had small casinos so I played a little and won $300! That was fun. Good reaction Jeremy!😍
This is one of the "quarantine" series, filmed individually during the Covid lockdown. This was an homage to the late Kenny Rogers with whom they'd collaborated on "Children Go Where I Send Thee". HF is blessed to have a bass with 5+ octaves and a bass/baritone that can switch off with him. Of course the harmonies, beatboxing & singing are terrific - it's Home Free.
You're like a kid in a candy store when Tim drops those precious little nuggets of bass in any song. You get the biggest grin, your face lights up, and it's wonderful to see! ❤
I saw Kenny Rogers do this live back in the dark ages. Although it’s considered straight country now, back then it was a crossover. If you don’t know it, check out Kenny’s song, Lucille, just for fun. The chorus is funny because of the way it is sung, but the verses are very serious. Thanks, Jeremy!
I already love this song anyway, but Home Free managed to make it a great cover again. Especially Chance solo I think is awesome here, the perfect voice for this song. And sometimes I forget it's A-Capella. Adam is so freaking good. He's no human😉 But here you can hear how important all the background sounds/vocals and the just right voice for every part of the song is. All of them are one by one so important that it becomes incredible R.I.P. Kenny Rogers
Interestingly, hearing this during lockdown was also the first time I properly listened to the lyrics! I couldn't tell you why either, but it helps that the words are so clear so that probably had something to do with it. Anyway, love this version, and I sing along to it often.
As you love Tim's bass check out the guys singing Ring of Fire for the sing off. Tim's bass will truly blow you away. It was the icing when they won and have not looked back.😮
With Tim and Chance, it can be hard to tell. They will trade the bassline back in forth in the same song seamlessly. I can tell when they are singing and I used to be able to tell on the bassline but Chance has gotten so good at the bassline I can no longer tell.
Chance covers the bass line when Tim does the led and visa versa. As they say in their shows Tim is grateful every day that Chance did not join Pentatonix. :) Note: this was a tribute to Kenny Rogers when he passed during quarentine times.
Jeremy, sing if you want to. The home fries know the songs backwards and forwards, and we sing along with these, too. I"m here for the commentary along the way, a sixth voice is a bonus.
Who originally sang The Gambler? The title track "The Gambler" was written by Don Schlitz, who was the first to record it. It was also covered by several other artists, but it was Kenny Rogers' adaptation of the tale that went on to top the country charts and win a Song of the Year Grammy, later becoming Rogers' signature song.
Great reaction to this tribute for Kenny Rogers done during covid Chance added more than another bass he is like their utility player not flashy but valuable.
Hey Jeremy! 👋🏻👋🏻 I’m late to the party, but I just subscribed. 👍🏼 I have been watching your Home Free reactions since you started. I thoroughly enjoy each of your reactions and when your tiny Ninja is with you they are just as great. I have a son named Jeremy, he is also a red head. 😁( Although I think he’s probably older than you….yep, I’m old, 🤣) I especially love this song because it makes me think of my precious Dad. He passed in February 2010. Dad was a gambler at heart. The dog races (greyhounds in Florida), football and poker. He definitely wasn’t great at it, but he loved the challenge. I’ve been a Home Free fan since I stumbled across them in February 2016 while recovering from shoulder surgery and it’s been a fantastic experience since. I look forward to Home Free Frydays!!
Ramble away. Most of us have had similar reactions, anyway. Tim and Chance trade off parts so seamlessly, that I have simply given up trying to tell who is who sometimes. And it is the same with all of the guys. How Great Thou Art, for example - I know for a fact that Tim, Adam, and Austin all do the high, long tone - but it always sounds the same. How 5 guys with distinct voices/ranges can all sound the same is totally beyond my ken.
No disrespect to Chris, but Chance was a great addition to Home Free's lineup because his low lows allow Tim the freedom to use his upper range, instead of always being down in the depths.
Tim calls Chance Home Free's secret weapon. He's not wrong. 😊

I suspect Chance’s creativity and personality contribute as much to the groups success as his vocal skills.
For a normal bass line, I often can't tell the difference between Tim and Chance. Both hold down the bass line so well.
Tim and Chance together give Home Free such a rich sound ... it's the combo that makes them different!

Thank you, Jeremy, for your Home Free Fridays. It is so nice to look forward to! Hope you can continue this great tradition!

Chance is like a great utility player, just does whats needed, when needed without fanfare.
Loved your full assessment of what Adam Chance brings to Home Free. He is the gem that is the whipped cream on top.

Rob sings: "his face lost all expression"
Camera switches to Tim
Camera switches back to Rob
Rob sings next line
😂 I always thought this was hilarious

This was another Quarantine vid. and such a great tribute to Kenny, TYVM for the reaction, Cya in the next one. Have a great day U2.
Chance has grown on me. And, someone in the group still surprises me in each song.

This version makes me wanna dance! They are so good! ❤
The answer to “Who is winning?” Is “Us!”
Another great song, interpreted by a great band! ❤🎶
Sing all you want! It adds to your reaction! 😉
You're like a kid in a candy store when Tim drops those precious little nuggets of bass in any song. You get the biggest grin, your face lights up, and it's wonderful to see! ❤
This was filmed during Quarantine and was their tribute to Kenny when passed. RIP Kenny. Another good reaction.
One of my favorites! A great tribute to Kenny! ❤❤
Thanks for your great reaction!❤

& yet another banger 🔥
These guys are amazing, they certainly show how a song can be sing.
This is so very awesome! Home Free always deliver. Love your reaction!

I do remember you not feeling Chance and I love it when he surprises you

I love this cover of this song. RIP Kenny Rogers
Did you notice that Tim wasn’t playing with the same deck of cards as the others? His were a much lighter blue.
Without going back to check, I think the chips vary among the guys, too.
@@nancyholter5646 you’re correct - they are different.
One thing most older country songs did, is tell a story. Most new country lacks that
Thanks for the "pick-me-up" on this busy, stressful Friday! ❤ Continued blessings! ❤
This is great since they did the song with Kenny. You do such great reactions! Love this!
Jeremy, sing if you want to. The home fries know the songs backwards and forwards, and we sing along with these, too. I"m here for the commentary along the way, a sixth voice is a bonus.

Great song as usual from the guys. Always enjoy your reaction to these guys.

If you don't sing along, you ain't human 😮😊
A bit of trivia, Jeremy. They were not around a table... They weren't even in the same building. it was during Covid lock-down.
They actually use the fact that they have 2 bass singers very well. Also, they have to consider how to sing songs live
Speaking of so many covered this song.....even the Chipmunks did. 🐿 😂
You should listen to Bye Bye Bye the NSync cover - so good x
Just posted right now (1pm EDT)...how's that for timing?!!? ✌🏽
