@@christinaculver5678 with ptsd, the central nervous system basically snaps. According to Peterson, it originates from not having a sufficient theory of evil to protect you from it. But I think that pretty much anyone, with enough push, can snap. The way out of ptsd is to create a sufficient understanding of what happened so that your CNS can basically be recalibrated to take on all the “bullshit”. The problem being, when you grew up in a war zone with so much going on…how are you supposed to piece all of that together in your mind? I have CPTSD from childhood trauma, but I can’t imagine what it must have been like growing up in that area. It sounds awful.

At least you should've learned a basic thing from all Dr Peterson's lectures on religions that no religion can be dangerous in and of itself. It's more fucking complicated than that, especially in the case of Islam because honey if you truly get educated on Islam you will hardly find any difference in the fundamentals of all 3 religions. If you still gonna oversimplify complex situations and mix all shit together ( war and religion and politics and your fucking presuppositions), you're gonna end up as dogmatic as the people that you see as terrorists
Hebrews 2:14-15 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
At the beginning, why are they showing pictures of the Temple Mount and the Wailing Wall when mentioning Hamas? Those places are Jewish and Christian holy sites.
How does it feel knowing you most likely only follow your religion because your ancestors were enslaved into it and couldn't leave due to apostasy laws?
Anytime you think you have a supernatural divinity on your side, you can excuse any horror. Allah, Yahweh, Brahma, Quetzalcoatl, Enki, whatever. I agree with almost everything you said, except IMHO I don't think it's religion that poisons everything, but lack of objective, critical thinking that does so, by making religion becoming effective/usable.
Religion doesn't poison everything. Although certain religions have dangerous beliefs, certainly amongst some religions that promote terrorism. However, I would rephrase your comment and say it's people who poison everything, not religion.

Fear will create your hell. Courage, compassion, and love will create your heaven.
Especially the courage part.
True but with PTSD..some peoples Fear wasn’t created from within it and Heaven is Missing

God willing, these talks will help open Dr. Peterson's eyes to the dire dangers of [the religion of pieces].
I think he knows but is being careful. All problems today in the west can be traced back to [the religion of pieces].

He's already aware of the nature of religion where the perfect man was a psychotic child molester.
his first experience with doubt came from discovering that a blatant lie wasn't really true. sounds like that is a pattern
Interesting.

There's an Islamic mosque there too. All 3 of the Abrahamic religions are represented there

Christopher Hitchens is scapegoating religion to avoid confronting the scary idea of humans being deluded murderers when they get the chance.
