My sister has a 19-year-old Tennessee Walker gelding who is the same way. When a colt is old enough to be turned out with the other horses, Dakota is its guardian protecting from it the other scolding adult horses. Must learn boundaries.
I had a gelding that loved babies too! He would strut his stuff as if he was their stud! LOL! I think that lil' filly was having a fit because she didn't like that halter! Lol!
So when you go to the barn these days you'll have to factor in an extra hour each time for cuddling with the foals 😄 Sooo good for the soul ❤ Your children are lucky to have you. Bless.
I just re-watched the video on Apollo’s homecoming and transformation yesterday! He’s even more amazing now!! Beautiful moms, babies, and fingernails!! 💅
I remember when you purchased apollo, and he's not the same horse. He's a magnificent animal, and youve put so much time, money, and love into who he is today.! And the babies are amazing. Fun to watch them grow up! You have a wonderful live, living among these gentle giants!! ❤❤❤
I had to laugh when you said that Finn was the opposite of peaceful! 😆😆 I have 6 grandsons and raised one boy. My son was peaceful, sort of, but the grandsons?? Not so much! LOL! It'll come, dad, just takes 15 or 20 years! Love your family, including Apollo!
the foals are adorable 🥰 so sweet how Apollo is the big protective uncle (or body guard) lol i wish i could meet him, i love him from clear across the country! ❤❤
So beautiful ! In my life I’ve had 3 horses and 2 donkeys. I’m now 70 and so wish I could go back to that time. Was the most rewarding and loving time of my life. Miss them. ❤️ Keep videos coming. I look forward to them. Thank you 🐎🫏
Ireland must not want to leave the stables with all those darling babies there. Horse's can sense or read the aura's of people I believe . And foals recognize another "kid". That's why that skittish foal liked and enjoyed your company and affection. Very sweet! Yes, I have noticed the drafts are calm and seem to really like people. Because of their size and strength, those traits must have been chosen and developed for safety reasons. Makes them all the more wonderful and endearing. Fun video. . . wished I could have been there too to pet and smell them. 😍
Thanks for the visit with these beautiful foals. I have never heard of a mare coming home from the vet after giving birth. The mares usually give birth in their stall.
They are absolutely adorable. It was amazing to see Apollo so interested in all the babies. So cute. Ireland is such a natural area That you went to visit were gorgeous and so sweet Thank you so much I only wish I had found your channel when my mom was alive. She would’ve absolutely loved it. Sending California vibes from LIZ💜🤟🏻😎 🐎🇺🇸
I see you haven't posted in a while. Just checking...Everything ok? Hope all is well w Apollo, family and such...Thk you for sharing this beautiful boy w us! Haven't seen in a while and it just popped up on my feed.❤🐎❤
Aww baby horses are always the cutest little things! I was wondering if you could do like an update video about Apollo and Little miss, I'd like to see little miss in more of your videos! Xx
I'm not gonna lie the baby thing makes me wonder if Apollo was a father at some point and is missing a baby ): I know horses tend to form strong familial bonds, maybe you know the full history and he just loves babies! But that crossed my mind... so glad he has a loving family with you and yours!
I learned just last week that it’s normal and actually healthy for a foal to eat manure Boy you sure wouldn’t think so huh !! Grrros ! Lol Oh and if I bonded with a foal that would be it. I’d be broke because I’d have to have him. Lol. Much to cute !!! I really enjoyed this vid and seeing the majestic Perserion at the end. So gentle and great with your daughter.
@@apollotheshire I’m so glad to hear he calmed down 💜 that’s what’s most important! You’re welcome - I’m enjoying watching your reels ☺️ Have a wonderful weekend!!
This may seem a weird observation, but your channel only just found me today. Anyway, the day you had the collection guy send you a photo of Apollo's condition.... his manure in that video was more like a cow pat.... he's digestive system has definitely improved! 💩
@@BessBright horses grow a winter coat, it gets pretty long and is messy. Hair EVERYWHERE!! Plus when they exercise they get extra sweaty. It’s like you go to the gym in the summer in workout clothes and workout you sweat. In the winter you go to the gym wearing a coat but you take it off when you get to the gym. Horses can’t do that, they get too sweaty and it takes hours and hours for them to dry off. If it’s 30° outside it’s not healthy for them to be all wet. You put a winter blanket on them so they don’t grow the natural winter coat, it stays short. That way when you exercise/ride them they don’t get sick after from being wet. They still sweat but it dries much quicker. That’s the main reason.
Please don't show yourself or anybody hand feeding a horse of any size or age with your thumb out! The thumb must ALWAYS be in contact with the side of the hand. Lest you lose that thumb because it looks like a carrot.
So you keep putting your hands on the chin and mouth, even cupping. Then you smack at the baby when it gets mouthy? And this isn’t your horse? Do you have permission to touch and pet these animals? Do not tease with your hands and fingers any more than you would if it was a puppy or kitten please.
Haha,… well the mane is made of hair… and the hair sticks up. We have three horses we are a horse family… sorry I didn’t use the right verbiage for you 🤣😂😅 I guess that means it’s not a real horse channel.

Your daughter has great communication with horses. She'll be a fantastic equestrian one day.
I think I’m biased but I think she already is!! 🤣😂
Thanks for watching ! So glad you commented

Hahah, some horses are just like that, thanks for watching 🙂
Who can resist foals? Both graceful and awkward. The Percherons were so quiet and gentle....seemed entranced with Ireland. I love Spring.
They are just too cute to pass up!!
Ireland is a beauty! I foresee many late nights in your future 😂

I looovvvee babies - I worked on a Standardbred breeding farm many years ago where we had up to 200 babies a year -
Wow, now that would be incredible!! Thanks for watching 🙂

Makes sense I guess it’s their mom’s digested food, so it would be easier for the new baby to digest.. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for watching!
Foal: eating poop
Apollo: 👁️👄👁️

Haha jk hes such a cool horse.
I'm missing new Apollo videos!
What a wonderful horse 😘😘
Do you know already the song Heavy Horses of Jethro Tull ?
@8:57 maybe the harness is freaking out the foal? It’s holding its head like it’s trying to back away from whatever is on its head.
It’s possible, for all I know it’s the first time he had it on. But… who knows. Baby calmed down and was ok. Thanks for watching 🙂

Please explain the purpose for some horses wearing a coat, other than bad weather.

Scours in some of the foals?
🤔 I’m not sure what that means
@@apollotheshire runny poops 😁
Doesn't seem like scours?
job me

Foals don’t have teeth to chew treats yet. Please don’t try to feed them to them.

Their "hair". Nope. Not a real horse channel. That would be their "mane". Hey, YT: Boycott BS horse channels!

Maybe just go away and watch something else, then ... 😬
Do they all get turn out time to run, get that energy out? 🫠
Yes hours and hours, but they also need calm quiet time… even if they disagree 😂🤣
