Shout out to the Myanmar people for accepting and embracing this guy.
Most of us consider him as Burmese
That “dance”they showed him doing at the end of the video was a ceremonial Lethwei pre fight routine. As I understand it, the warriors and pro lethwei fighters have done for centuries. The people of Myanmar accepted him with open arms, partially bc of his rush to embrace their culture.
@James Alexander Duh! No I don't. Me no understand.... 🤪

Just watching the agony on his face when he knew he just couldn’t get back up no matter how badly he wanted to. That guy gave it everything he had.
Yes, so much heart.
For that people should respect his tenacity, it is well earned, the strength to drag the body until it breaks is rare if not nonexistent in this generation.
Manly men.
This is why UA-cam exists man. To hear the story of a humble man born as ordinary as they come, and who just believes so fiercely in himself, and controls the monster within.
Unbelievable.
I can hear this on a sports channel. Dont need youtube. Matter of fact Rumble should be the platform everyone moves to if anything. UA-cam has become political trash
clearly this story was told on Joe Rogan experience.@ Spotify. someone just edited videos on top of it.
Also not such an amazing story when he is foot and a half TALLER than his opponents. with a significant reach advantage.. He is obviously a good fighter but i doubt he would have beaten the champions as an amateur if they would have same reach... its hard to headbutt a taller opponent. also elbows have really short reach and are not so usefull with a taller opponent.

I've never gotten emotional watching a fight. Seeing the 2nd legend fight through the pain after his leg was injured. Seeing the pain in his face and him still getting up. He's fighting for his life! When he couldn't stand and he started crying. I'll admit, I did too, the level of desperation he got to knowing he can't get up, with blood pouring out of the top of his head. Unbelievable spirit from both and an unbelievable story.
this cmt is just beautiful.
It is sad to see that Htun Htun Min is not the same fighter after that leg injury but i am so glad his 2 younger brothers are taking over.
No, you didn't start crying. Why do people make dumbass comments like this for likes? Such a stupid attention seeking behavior
I can't get over He's a Canadian and had to get kicked out and didn't make mature decisions before the kick.
Watch MMA there's a lot of broken faces and and legs
Sums it up beautifully, thanks!
Dave Leduc is an awesome guy. When i first learned about the sport when i was 16 i send him a DM and asked a couple of questions (how the hell you train your head for example)
Dude took the time and answered everything, awesome chat with an incredibly cool dude

While brutal the Dave Leduc story is one of love. Dave is proof that a man’s drive coupled with the encouragement of a woman that loves him is a nigh unstoppable force. Myanmar and Lethwei saw this, recognized it, and integrated them for the good of the sport and all involved. Cool video, man.

I remember hearing from Leduc when I was living in Thailand (2005-2015) and being sceptical about the whole thing altogether.
Boy, was I wrong !!
The guy's a LEGEND!!

@@Wasupde yes yes!
Must've been a hell of a lot of pressure for the defending champ fighting a foreigner in front of the whole nation. In Myanmar I imagine this situation was highly uncommon, unlike in Thailand today. Guy literally cannot give up without giving his absolute all.
I could feel his pain when he lost and was crying. He looked like he gave it his all during the fight.
I never heard of this sport inspite of living so close in the border of Myanmar. I am from Manipur,India.. N i grow up from Myanmar foods and products. I hve even visited their side of the country too.. And i must say, much respect to the country near and dear to me.
That story was so amazing it actually drew tears from me because of the commitment this man had for love and for life it was utterly amazing. God bless him

My dad trained lethwai for many years before I was born, he showed me a few things when I was younger. Definitely a brutal sport.

Straight out of a 80's martial arts action movie..
This should be made into a movie. Has everything. Heartache, Love, Perseverance, and finally victory.
I think you're on to something there!
Somebody please make a movie of this man’s life already. Incredible!!!

you know it's a savage sport when a full grown man cries from extreme pain. I have train crazy in my life even today could barely walk home after a heavy leg session. also trained boxing and kickboxing most of my life lol used to punch brick walls to toughen hands but these lethwei guys are next level crazy.
it's literally a 1-1 brawl but with basic rules. Kinda crazy thinking about it, fatality goes up the rooof man, bare knuckles are no jokes
My shin still hurts from one of my kicks getting checked a week ago in training. Much respect, these dudes are insanely tough. That guys leg was clearly injured and he still fought on until he literally couldn’t stand.
I have to admit I have never heard about Dave Leduc until I stumbled across this UA-cam video. What a fighter, he has made Canada proud.
Proud of a giant man fighting smaller third worlders who grew up malnourished and with little education and have to fight to make ends meet? 😂😂😂
Lol. Get some more information about him and you will realize he's not that great nor humble
Man, this docu is so well produced!!! Hats off
Great guy, a beast in the ring, fighting for his life and dreams.
And also his wife, together with him in the bad moments, without giving up, following him.
Great Documental.
I actually attended a seminar taught by this monster in Denver, CO. I had been training Muay Thai for about 5 years, and Krav Maga before that, so I was excited to revisit headbutts. He was a gentleman. A cosmically terrifying gentleman. Fantastic vid man! Superb music too.
One of the best videos I,ve seen on youtube. Mad respect for the guy, hope this is made into a movie
I really needed this. Thank you Dave. I will continue to fight , cry and be the best man I can be.
Much love and respect to all fighting for something.
Hell yeah!very inspiring.
Good on you young man, everyone is born with a purpose, you found yours and climbed to the top. That can never be taken away ... peace and happiness👊👍
I left myanmar at 18 to Australia and I recently found out about him and gives me joy in my heart while I’m watching this humanity is so amazing and beautiful how someone across the world born in different race respect and dedicated his life towards my culture he even did marriage ceremony in our way how astonishing that is me who born and raised in that country couldn’t see that value. Wow.. blown away by this. Lethwei has just become my favorite sport! Can't believe I just now heard of it. And the marriage on top of it is amazing!
Thank you for creating this edit. I have never heard of this sport before. Thank you again.

What a passion you can see it in their eyes in hear it in their voice. Both Dave and Joe are exceptional martial artist!!
Joe is absolutely right you have to believe in yourself and follow your passion and putting a lot of hard work in it.
For anyone here who is reads this, let me tell you that they are absolutely right. I put the same effort with a lot of passion and hard work in to achieve my goals in the military/SOF, KEEP IT UP & ROCKING IT😉🙃🤘
Really enjoyed this video man, Dave Leduc is a beast 👊
what an insperation ! Bravo Dave Leduc and Mrs Leduc. What I would like to know is why Thailand. Goerge Saint-Pierre now Dave Leduc both kings in my heart.
It just goes to show that behind every good man is a great woman.
Dave Leduc is a good man? 😂😂😂
This video is so beautifully put together
Without discounting Leduc’s grit and toughness which are unmatched, I think it says a lot about the technical superiority of Muay Thai over the brute approach of Lethwei that an inexperienced Thai boxer could so quickly overcome an elite veteran Lethwei fighter
Lethwei seems like a less technical Muay Thai with head butts but ultimately, it all boils down to the fighter.
Like boxing vs bjj(brazilian ju jitsu*)
@@Turco949It is. Lethwei scene isnt as developed as muay thai scene so less ppl bc less money so less talent
Sadly lethwei isn't as appreciated here nowadays among the youngsters and funnily/sadly they do usually skips over the lethwei when they think of martial arts and also I can tell you it's not only the technicality you can throw the beasts of Muay Thai to Dave and he still would dominate them due to his fierce body and the combined knowledges he got from his Martial arts

So much courage and respect. Well done. What a lot of people who have never been in a real fight don't understand, it often causes a lot of damage to deliver blows, not just to receive them.
