Battery registration after install is not required . I have dealer software and there is option for 12v battery registration for car . It auto adjusts
Good job Ish really helped me change my battery. Its worth mentioning the weight of the battery (very heavy). I would add to help, the the securing clamp has to be taken completely out before removing the old battery.👍
Glad it helped . Make sure u get it coded when I can
1st great video. 2nd 2021 (or at least mine) have Torx T55 bolts on that big cross bar... 👀
Good video just a question, did you have to reset the BMS after battery change
New battery on this vehicle requires registration/bms reset make sure you use the obd2 reset tool you can find one fairly cheap online otherwise the vehicle will cook your new battery.
No there is no bms reset on these cars . The car auto learns new battery . I have pathfinder which is dealer software and there is no option for reset .
Hi
I took the cover of last night to charge the battery, I’m having issues getting the clips back in. Do they screw in or force them in ?
Dear: I really appreciate your video helps me save $100 - $200 at the dealer, to improve the quality of your video I suggest a list of tools and materials needed at the description of the video. Thank you a lot
great help ..thanks !!!
When changing the battery in a 2017 Evoque any reset tool needed ? Will everything work with the power cut off changing battery
You should get the battery reset but it’s not urgent . Battery will be fine . Try timing it with a service and get garage to do reset at same time . When changing battery you should pop hood and take wireless key and leave 20 m from car . Set timer for 20 min to allow car to go to sleep then do battery change . This will ensure no power left in BCM or modules . You can also touch positive and neg terminals of car together once battery disconnected to discharge car .
Just out of curiosity does this car have a second battery?
If it’s hybrid there may be aux battery in boot on the left or right if not under hood
Great video, would have preferred each step being shown as opposed jumping to “now it’s out” if you get what I mean 😂😂. But thanks anyway!!! Well done
It’s hard to do one handed that way . Also I have to work it out then record to show best way to do it .
@@ishanperusinghelooks like you need someone to record you, a Go-Pro, or if you record with your phone; then a head mount for it.
@@EJR20 it’s easier to do video after each section . As I need to figure it out as I’m going . Otherwise it will look a complete mess and video will go on for ages and be even harder to follow . I only do videos if there isn’t one already
@@ishanperusinghe got it. That’s why you can always edit the video. As in cut out the parts you feel aren’t necessary like you figuring out the next step. Or if you don’t wanna edit, and you’re lucky to have someone record you; have them stop recording during those parts cause compiling videos into one is easier that editing long footage.
Great video, very poor engineering from LR. Batteries shouldn’t need hrs of labour to be replaced.
Was same on old evoque too . Engineering is very lazy on evoque and while I understand it on the mark one . They should not have applied lessons learned to the mark two
Is this a diesel or hybrid? My evoque only has one wire on the left hand side, the top one labelled ‘Littlefuse”mega 300A. I have the bottom fuse labelled “Mega 400A” but there doesn’t seem to be a cable there? There is also no earth terminal in the lower 09 section. Nor is there one in the 125 section ( 3rd from the top) Do you know where i can find out what all of these are supposed to do? Im having issues with the battery not charging even after replacing the battery. The car has only done 13000 kms
I have a 2020 R-Dynamic P250E
Mine is mild hybrid . Not full like yours . Check this site out for workshop manual cardiagn.com/2018-2022-range-rover-evoque-l551-2-0l-petrol-aj20-workshop-manual/
@@CAPTALISM I have a RR sport full hybrid and 12v battery terminals are the same . Do a continuity test on the strip fuses to see if any have gone . There are some under battery also. If u changed battery u will need topix or pathfinder to register new battery with car . That might be your issue
@@ishanperusingheMine if a 2.0 litre petrol if that makes any difference.
@@ishanperusinghes that some kind of Software that a only a mechanic would have? I will remove the battery tomorrow and check for any fuses underneath. I find it a bit odd for it to have a 400amp fuse but nothing connected to the other side. I was hopping that id somehow missed the wire and it would explain why the alternator isn’t charging. Seems I’m not so lucky.
Ps: What does registering the battery actually do? Is software preventing it from charging?
