Cool video. I'm actually watching a dvd from Trains Magazine on the Joint Line right now. They show when they went there in 1999 then they show what changed from then to today.
Geno, thanks. Glad you're liking the videos. I do agree that I got pretty lucky in 2014 with a lot of the trains I caught. Stay tuned for more. Cheers, Kevin
hi Kevin... another fantastic catch along with great info... thanks for sharing.. have you heard anything about the exec / merger paint schemes being painted to H3 colors??? vinny
Vinny, thanks. I haven't heard anything about painting locomotives into H3 except for the regular repainting that's done as the locomotives go in for service. I imagine all the locomotives that are still in SF warbonnet or BN executive paint will all get repainted at some point.
Hey Kevin, long time since I commented on any video's, sorry bout that, with my move and everything going on right now, its a bear to get out and check out all these video's! I really enjoy seeing your vids though, even the ones without structures! :) I feel I should give you a hard time, looking forward to seeing some more structures in your work here and layout. Something I never noticed here you pointed out was the coal loads, your right, they are not even, a lot of variation in the actual load. Just a thought, hope you dont mind a small suggestion, your video's are always well put together, I noticed that many of these, you put up text to explain, I spend a lot of time reading and not seeing the actual video that you have shot, maybe narration instead? Just a thought, I know I spend some time skipping back to see the video that your talking about. These SD70ace's look fantastic, its amazing how close you can get and not get arrested! Just excellent coverage and great capture of the power here. As always Kevin, thanks so much for sharing, the clarity of the video is awesome and I really enjoy visiting your channel.
Mike, thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. I've thought about narrating the videos rather than putting the text in, but haven't done that yet--other than my how to videos. I'm sure I'll try narrating one at some point and see how it goes. Hope the move went well. I've lived in both Germany and South Korea too. Cheers, Kevin
Yea, I think narration would be great on these. I am enjoying South Korea so far, lots to do, great public transportation and just all around interesting. After 7 years in Germany, I was ready for a change, now, if I can just my models and modeling tools! :) Looking forward to hooking up with you in a hangout sometime soon, new builders live show on the way to! Catch you soon.
Very cool video! I would love to check out trains like these in Colorado but I sadly live to far away. I have been thinking about BNSF. It seems as if BN and SF Merged to make one new railroad. That has just been on my mind but I don't know if its exactly true, Wonderful video as always!
Noah, yes. My channel is about Colorado's Joint Line, both my model of it and the prototype trains that operate over it. I also have some videos from other railfanning trips I've taken around the country. I also have tutorial videos, demonstrations, tips and tricks that I've learned over my 20+ years of model railroading. Cheers, Kevin

James, thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. You are correct that BN and SF merged back in 1995 to form BNSF. Cheers, Kevin
6:20 look at the exhaust heat !! That thing is WFO . !!!!😄😄😄
How steep were railroad tracks
Hugo Guzman The grade in the area is about 1.5%.
...
so, i take it you're not just about model trains.
