The Drift Reached half way up to my 2nd Floor Bedroom. I could have done that because the drift was like 10-12 Feet High I was in High School in Fairfield
"I remember this so vividly! I had to work with the emergency crew at New England Memorial Hospital, where I worked for three straight days. This experience ultimately helped me make the difficult decision to leave my beloved town of Stoneham and move to Florida. Like many others, I even jumped from the second story into the snow below!"
I'm from Weymouth Ma & I was 10 years old when the storm hit & we got slammed! We had to walk to the store about 2 miles with a sled to pick up food The only good thing was no school for awhile! I hate the snow now, I don't even like saying the word
Lived/live in Attleboro area in 1978 which received 3+ feet. Seems to be plenty of revisionist history - that a monster storm was predicted. Not my memory, if so why did everyone go to work and school on that Monday?
Going through old photo albums I found a newspaper paper clipping and picture of what we had built. With the snow from this blizzard a few families had built the biggest dinosaur - a size so big, it was bigger than the house!! There was about 10 of us sitting ON TOP of the dinosaur. Hit the newspaper it was that big. As I just found this, I thought of today's kids. I wondered if they'd be inside their homes on their devices vs.outside creating such an awesome thing. I keep things, laughter always is there from others because I do - but thats okay. I'm always finding things that just make me say wow, or how cool is that.
I remember jumping off the second floor porch onto the snow piles ...Cambridge Massachusetts!! Was 5 then....and today I turn 50.....
