Update: So I replaced both CR1220 batteries and it's working flawlessly now. I think that's what might be the main issue with these slipboxes, one guy even reported a battery missing. Just remember to slowly pull the box up so that both magnets activate the LEDs or you'll have one eye blinking then it'll be out of sync.

My copy arrived this week. From the first pass one eye works fine but the other one stays lit and simply will not turn off. Troubling shooting the packaging and batteries provided no solution. So mine has Cathy's Cyclops Curse. The case would be very cool if it worked properly. Too bad. Severin made a good attempt but this issue will be a major embarrassment and headache for them. With your copy I would keep trying by making sure the inside flap with the two magnets are making close proximity passing over the batteries. At this point your case won't get any worse by fooling with it.
I did take mine a part the magnets are connecting to the LEDs but they still won't light up. I'm assuming it may be the batteries but what are the odds of both of them not working? A really badly made product in my opinion.
I had the same issue. Problem was there were no batteries inside! I added batteries and everything works 100% now. I very sure all the copies work, but are missing one or both batteries due to a factory error. The batteries are cr1220.

Thats a nice 4k edition of Cathy's Curse. Pity the LED lights dont work.

I think it's the batteries so I ordered some, hopefully it works after they're replaced.
