So the 7800X3D is now 15-20% faster in gaming than Intel's best for less than half the price and with 4X the efficiency.

4x the efficiency...no it doesn't not at all actually for gaming it's pretty much 1:1 if only reviewers did their job rather than "content" people would know now :/ intel idling 13w 800mhz 0,8V 34°C amd idling 50w 4-5ghz 1.2+V 54°C - gaming both are in the 70-100w and amd is actually hotter (on a triple rad custom loop with my 4090 never going above 45°C stock so don't try to blame my cooling) - if 100% usage cinebench is your game amd wins, that's reality, intel still trashes amd efficieny wise for everything BUT 100% cpu usage that said...,.in march 23 I started saying "something wrong with my 13900k it's degrading incredibly fast" nobody cared they all said user error nothing to see here, my comments were censored by youtubers and tech forums...and here we are in 2024 I was right, people still inhaling copium trying to say "their" cpu is ok when it's not all intel p-e cpus will fail it has serious design flaws and I'm on a 7950x now (until 9000x3d is released) is it perfect no but it works in aug 2024 (totally didn't end 2022 which is why i went back to intel as an early adopter amd ddr5 didnt work at more than 4800mhz bios froze ! gaming didn't work windows scheduler and power management didn't work nothing worked 1y ago on x670e..it does now and I'm running plugandplay 2x16gbs 6200mhz xmp sticks from my dead intel pc)

That's good. It's also good to keep in mind that relative performance between chips can change a lot over time. Zen 5 has a lot of new architectural features which COULD see performance improve significantly as more software becomes better optimized for those features. As far as I can tell, Zen 5 has introduced more new architectural features/ changes over previous gen chips than any AMD CPU since Zen 1.
There are already some applications, and even some games, where Zen 5 has a significant performance improvement over Zen 4 (15% faster in Assetto Corsa, and significantly faster performance in Photoshop, to name two examples). So, it at least seems possible that a wider range of applications will see better improvements over Zen 4.
That being said, I would just go for Zen 4 now unless maybe some of your favorite games or applications ALREADY see a significant performance improvement with Zen 5. Zen 6 will likely offer an excellent and low-cost upgrade option for Zen 4 anyway. Upgrading every generation usually doesn't make sense. It usually makes more sense to wait two generations (or more) before upgrading your CPU, unless you suddenly find yourself wanting more heavily threaded performance, which you can obviously get by upgrading to a higher core count, even if it's a cpu from the same generation.

As someone else has stated, this is probably a cpu chip. We are expecting the X3D’s in november, and this lines up nicely. They ran it with integrated ram/vram which is odd, but if they are testing this for laptops its makes sense.
It would also explain the insanely low score as integrated graphics are often a 2-3 generations behind
