Although the 2018 SEMA Show doesn't officially start until Tuesday, there are still a ton of built up Jeeps out in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center and as you can imagine, many of them are the all new JL Wrangler. In this short pre-show video, you'll get to go on walk with Cindy and I and see some of the cool and crazy things that we've been seeing. We hope you enjoy.
That last orange rebel JL was nice 👍🏽
4:47 Grill delete: how to make your jeep lose its soul...
VOLVO TP21 "SUGGA" (1953 to 1958) ..... what do you think ?? ....
ua-cam.com/video/l0ra5duIppw/v-deo.html ... cheers !!!
I’m like you, I just don’t understand why they would change out the grill. That’s one of the things that make a Jeep a Jeep.
Blows my mind when ppl lose their head over the grill when yet almost everything else is swapped out. Oh but i kept the grill so im a true jeep dude.
Yeah, I don't particularly like those bulbous type grills on the jeep. It takes away from the good looks of the jeep. And as for the big wheels, no thank you, in my humble opinion it turns it from a trail rig to a boulevard rig. Excellent coverage as always brother. Makes me feel like I'm there. Thank you. Looking forward to tomorrow's vlog!!
Thanks very much for the video, not sure when we will get the JL in Australia at the moment a new 2018 Wrangler is a JK . Again I love the video, thanks.
some of those Jeeps should be considered hate crimes
You need to get your own tv show you’re very knowledgeable funny and positive
LOL - I'm flattered that you'd say as much.
I'm really liking the modest builds by King and Rebel....maybe I'm a bit biased as I have a Punkin' colored JL
John Grodski Me too! 👍
Distinctly missing .... the 2 door builds....where are they hiding?
Bro, your commentary and camera work is the best. I can't stand the videos with pointless commentary or just a crappy music bed. Your videos are a pleasure to watch and informative. Keep it real and authentic and don't change. Thank you. We're following you....!
Thank you, we really do appreciate it and glad you've been enjoying our videos :)
I used to love 4 wheeling and wanted a Jeep. I had a 93 dodge Dakota in Hawaii. When I found your channel, I really like watching you do the things you do and why. My dream jeep would have the Dana 60's with the air system in them. and of course the AEV conversion. I will miss the rear bumper water tank but I do like that they raised the bumper in the front by 2 inches to make approach angles even better. I hope you got the skid plates for your axles I always wondered why people didn't use them. Keep up the good work I look for you all the time on my smartcast on tv.
does the salt air rust every thing out there ? seems every springs here in Iowa Im cleaning ad repainting the suspension
Thanks for the video. BTW, kudos for ‘touching’ the rigs. Doesn’t bother me a bit.
LOL!! Thank you.
Keep up the good work dude.I would click thumb's up more then once if I could.
Thank you, we really do appreciate it
Ohhhhhhhhh Rebel Off Road. I love their jeeps. Boy are the expensive but so pretty. Off topic, but do you guys let people join you when youre heading to near by trails? Cause I live pretty near rubicon trail and would love to catch some jeep carnage with yall one day!
Any size over 18" for wheels is absolutely useless off-road.
We are getting ready for Winter here in Canada! Thank you for bringing me to a sunny part of the US and more importantly, to SEMA!
"now that's a face that only a mother can love" finally someone hates grill covers as much as I do. I mean its a jeep wrangler, stop trying to build a transformer
cameron wadle you’re old school every generation is different I still have my original grill in my garage when I turn 30 or so I may need it
Jeeps that look like transformers are absolutely disgusting. Plus, those jeeps tell me all I need to know about the owner.
Another great video.. always am happy with what you put out !
So glad to hear it, thank you :)
Super ❤️
First Jeep is total over kill. Looks stupid. The rest of them are cool!
I hate these useless Wheel trending so much
Eddie, I understand individualism, however these big wheels with low profile sidewall tires people are running, ruins the function of a Jeep.
i am happy to see more companies making fenders that have the JL style lights. to me its important to keep the JL look when switching fenders.
You were in the background in one of the AEV videos from SEMA...😜👍🏻
Thanks for taking the time to cover so many jeeps and jeep product. Love the shots when we can see the whole jeep. Keep em coming.
Ugly ass rims on the trucks. Ugliest rims you can get on a Jeep or truck, are the ones that are over 17 inches.
The ugliest thing is when they mess with the grill! Anything else is fair game but the grill is holy and to be left alone! They just dont get it..
Awesome video my friend.
Love looking at different jeeps and different ideas they come up with so are good some ok and some let's just say strange. Lol
LOL - SEMA is coming in November and we hope you'll tune in to see more of all this stuff :)
@@wayalife looking forward to seeing it. We should be in wind rock in nov.some of their trails are pretty awesome especially if its been raining and wet.this will be our 5 time there.this will be our first time there using our 513 gears last year we had our 456 gears done great hoping to do better this year.
So many horrible wheels!
Mall crawlers must be the new yuppy and pimp thing .. This also explain why the cost of the Wranglers have gone thru the ceiling ..Very sad and a SEMA 2018 show of pure ugly .. Not one except for the last was dirt worthy ..
LOL!! In all fairness, you've just been looking at featured vehicles. The good stuff is inside.
Please stop touching every car you see. Please. Your not in the desert or on a trail. Please respect how much effort everyone puts into makeing there cars or trucks look perfect for such a big name show. Please show some respect
@ bryan warnecke this is not a car show, this is SEMA, the SPECIALTY EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION show. Manufacturers are here to try and SELL the products that they make - NOT to show how pretty their Jeeps are. If there really is a manufacturer that's afraid of me touching their products, they are clearly not something I'd want to buy. Please take some time and learn about what this show is all about before preaching at people.
Wayalife I do know how much time and energy and effort that goes into a sema car and if my shop had a jeep there this year and you put your hands all over my perfect build. I would punch you in the face
Clearly, you don't make products and if you did, they wouldn't be ones I would want to buy.
@@wayalife you're so right. The products are there to be seen and touched. If they were afraid of you touching it they'd put ropes or some sort of barrier around it. Or at least a sign. But as you said this is sema, it's about the products not the rides, they're just the showcase or shelf for such said part. Just saying
Sorry, don't have a clue as to who you are or what trucks you might have out here but since you seemed to have missed it, I'm not interested in truck parts. Needless to say, I would have no interest in touching any trucks.
Bolt on shit products. Carpet wheelers.
I get that it’s companies showcasing their products, but so many hideous designs. I’m guessing many of these companies make most of their money off guys that either don’t off-road, or are just into tacky blinged out show vehicles begging for attention. I want to see those tires on the 26” rims aired down! Lol
Wowww that whit jeep looked like assssss
Wowww that whit jeep looked like assssss
What moron would do this to a Jeep!
A lot of barf moments
On that silver grill, thought you were going to say, that psycho dudes prison mask in "Silence of the Lambs"...
I'm not a car guy so I don't know what's the suspension parts are for.
But I'm saving to buy a Rubicon in a year and I love off roading a lot so I might add/tune mine to fully utilize it. So my question here is: is there some website/channel who teach what are the necessary parts depending on what you are using it for?
Can’t hear you ~ get a better microphone or lapel microphone 🎤‼️
LOL - sorry, we're doing the best we can with what we've got. Please send us better equipment and we'll be sure to use it :)
Awesome as usual! Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you, we really do appreciate it.
The cargo cover is a slipstream by diabolical Inc. When put together correctly there is a lip that goes against the door and makes cargo area have no access at all
Does anyone know who made the aftermarket fenders for the jl with the running lights built in
Jeeps have seven slots PERIOD!
Yup, couldn't agree more!
Can barely hear you, turns up volume only to be shocked by the music noise! also was reading the rest of the comments... ua-cam.com/video/otCpCn0l4Wo/v-deo.html
Sorry about that. We've had a crazy amount of Jeeps to cover and very little time to do it. We're trying our best to do it right but are struggling.
I still enjoy your channel @@wayalife. You have a perspective that is rare on youtube. these guys don't understand that SEMA is not a car show and the vehicles there are not show cars but advertisements for the newest cutting edge parts. Pay the haters no mind, keep up the great work!
@Aaron Nicholson Thank you and we appreciate your understanding.
i wonder who makes the ROOF-RACK on that blue/gray JL any name!!! thx!!
Great video Should be interesting to see what comes out in the after market Once sema is finished
Great video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you
Who makes those led side mirrors for the JL anybody knows?
Literally every inch of every car you look at. You even go as far as opening someone else’s car. Come on
Right, because you somehow know for a fact that they wouldn't want me to. THIS IS SEMA. If you were in the industry, you'd be here and know what I'm talking about instead of just preaching at me from your computer screen.
Wayalife you are going to lose all your fans if you continue to be a asshole to them in the comments. You were one of my favorite off roading channels. But then I come to find out your kinda a dick when we are only telling you this so you don’t make a absolute joke of your self. I can’t wait to watch trail recon from here on out. Because IV met him and is actually a decent human being
bryan warnecke I can assure you that I would never have a desire to meet such a self-righteous guy like yourself. In fact, I consider myself fortunate that you would no longer be a fan. God forbid people might associate me with someone like you.
Wayalife get fucking trolled now every one knows your a dick!!!!
LOL!! peace ;)
Good job! Great video
Thank you :)
Should check out the steer smarts booth they have a nice JL 6.4 swapped what could be an every day build if wanted to be really clean.
Sorry, not a fan of Steer Smarts.
Awesome offroad jeep tuning have a good day
Diuumk
you going to make a video of the hemi release???
What’s the song in the background
Man it must feel awesome to walk around the facility before the massive crowds come. Keep up the great job.
Yes, it is and now that the show has started, it's near impossible to get any shots.
UGH! I guess that's what you can expect from SEMA.
Sad but true. Here, it's all about being flashy.
Valeu obrigado por esta apresentação um abraço brasil
Been to SEMA a few times and I’m just like you and stick my nose into the builds like most car enthusiast because I like to see the in depth of the build BUT slight FYI not everyone at SEMA appreciates you touching there shit or just opening doors and touching body panels . I’ve seen a few owners flip shit cause the last thing they want is all this exposure and there cars are full of smudges after they spent countless hours or money paying people to walk around through out the show , day and night ,to be cleaning rigs up
Food for thought
Just an FYI, SEMA is NOT opened to the public and I am covering the show as a JOURNALIST. I'm not touching "everyone's" Jeep. I am touching a few products on a select few Jeeps that are there to sell to guys like me. Vehicles that don't want to be touched are typically roped off. I've talked to numerous manufacturers about this and NONE of them had a clue as to what guys like you are talking about. If guys are afraid of having someone touch products on their Jeep, they're clearly not something I'd ever want to buy as clearly, the products aren't made to go off road. Finally, if guys don't want "exposure", they shouldn't be showing off their Jeeps at SEMA.
FYI...this is not a carshow….it is a show where people are trying to sell their products....big big difference
Great content. One small thing, the music volume compared to your voice is not balanced well. Super loud music.
Sorry. It's pretty difficult to edit sound when you're on the go and just using ear buds. We'll try harder next time around.
@@wayalife I gotcha. Makes sense. As always though, great content the both of you provide. Appreciate your stuff which I've been watching for years now. :)
loving the coverage.. did that Cliffride also relocate the exhaust? I didn't see the tailpipe in any of the shots..
I think they just removed the muffler
Yes those are RKSport hoods.
“Sky high Look” and it’s not even tall. 😂😂😂😂
LOL - taller than I'd prefer but it does look cool
I want half doors!!!!
0:05 That articulation.
1 star crash rating
Thank you.
Glad you were able to watch a video from last year and still like it :)
Anyone else anxiaty threw the roof when he kept touching all the different jeeps lol
What I'm touching are products made by manufacturers who are trying to sell them to guys like me. That's the whole point of SEMA. People who don't want their Jeeps touched have them fenced off.
@@wayalife I'm not saying YOU are doing anything wrong it's from years of car shows I know the point of sema and understand the purpose of it that's why I didnt say why are you doing it, or your doing something wrong. Just years of "dont touch" drilled in my head lol. Enjoy the show. Look for a friend of mines build both 20149. Yukon gear and axle booth
LOL!! Fair enough. It's been weird that I've been getting so much flak over this today. I've been covering SEMA for well over 15 years and have NEVER had anyone give me grief about touching products. In fact, I talked to countless manufacturers about this today and they all looked at me weird like - "really? people are getting upset about this"? I'll try to swing by Yukon.
@rebeloffroad sucks. If they build or even touch your Jeep, it will fall apart. They build mall crawlers--not real Jeeps. They "look" good on the street but the minute you take it for some REAL wheeling, expect problem after problem after problem.
Yeah that makes total sense. Very credible statement with excellent corroborative evidence.
@@kylewlewis Actually, Kyle... Rebel built my first Jeep. It spent more time in Rebel's garage than it did my own. Always having to take it back to get fixed. I had to sell my Jeep and get a new one and take it to OCM to get built. That Jeep was fucked up by Rebel. And I know waaaaay too many serious off-roaders who have had the same experience. So it's pretty consistent. They build nice Jeeps for people who don't do serious wheeling... therefore they don't have many problems.
I must say
Great reporting! Keep up the great work.
Thanks, we appreciate it.
INDIA
Do we have any Hemi swaps yet?
Probably but it's hard to tell unless we get a closer look.
