@@rvlifediy You are absolutely right when you say that having all your facilities with you while travelling in your RV! Enjoy your time together making lasting family memories! ✝️🙏
We enjoyed having the 'toad' for the Needles hwy (87) & 16A roads through the tunnels at Custer & Mt Rushmore (Doane Robinson Tunnel view of the '4 heads'). Lots of rental 4-wheelers & Slingshots available in the Black Hills.
@MSMaifield yes that is one area we wished we had the towed for the needles highway. We almost rented a car but our schedule was a little too busy. Definitely a beautiful area.
The bed is pretty comfortable. But it cannot be used on the road. With the slide out in, the bed is folded and not usable. A kid can sleep in the unfolded section sideways though.
Hi . How does the RV perform in windy conditions? Wyoming gets a lot of wind and I want to get one and RV like what you have. But how does it do in 30 to 40 mph winds
I've had 3 RVs through Wyoming and this is the best one. It handles pretty good in wind but 30-40 mph will have you turning your wheel into the wind. You will feel it for sure, but won't have those scary white knuckle maneuvers. I'd give it a solid B plus in the wind handling.
That's a tough question. I would say 3 nights will cover Mt Rush, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, and Jewel and Wind Cave. Needless highway scenic drive and walk around Sylvan lake is recommended if you have a towed car. Last year we also went to Badlands National Park (boondock on "the wall") is a must do but it's hot during summer so check weather so you need to add at least 1 night. 4-5 nights will cover most areas there in my opinion. We stayed 4 nights in Yellowstone, and covered most areas of the park which was great. Then we went to Grand Tetons. Hope that helps.
I like these and looked at them prior to my Winnebago Navion. I like the smaller one with the theater seats and north south bed. I would prefer the Renegade Veracruz but they only made that in a Murphy bed. Renegade really needs to expand their floor plans in these models . The shakedown issues should not happen in this quality level coach. Just build them right.
The Veracruz was on my radar but the floorplan was basically same as the winnebago 24D I had so I didn't see any advantage switching. The shorter Dynamax isata 5 had too small of a living area (for us). It was actually smaller than the Winnebago. That's how we ended up with the 30FW floorplan. Wished it was shorter. I really like the floorplan on the Winnebago Vista National Park model. Wished they had that floorplan on the 4x4 truck chassis.
We did 3 day stops at Rushmore/Custer and Yellowstone and 2 days at TR NP on the way to & from an RVF rally in Oregon in our Isata 3 towing a CR-V. Our only RV issue was a failed slide topper 3 days into the trip. Our worries about towing in the mountain grades were resolved by the excellent Mercedes cruise control on steeper descents - set the safe speed and it would maintain it comfortably!
@MSMaifield the auto brake on the sprinter does work good but also uses the brakes and is not an engine or exhaust brake. Not sure how long (if any tangible) wear and tear on the brakes it does on long grades over time. The modern Cummins exhaust brake is definitely a total different type of braking and I like it much better if comparing to the sprinter auto brake. The main thing I didn't like about the sprinter auto brake is the brakes possibly overheating over time and not knowing about it.
Funny part is I actually follow your family and kids who knew lol 😆 on UA-cam
👍
Looks like a nice run and a lot of fun with family. Keep ‘em coming!!
Yes, seems those longer runs always turns out EPIC.
Lovely video! We really enjoyed it a lot. 😊
Thank you!
This video and scenery looks SPECTACULAR! Well done! The food looks tasty too! 😏

Nice summer trip! 😎

How did that bed work out? Any use while on the road? Great content thanks..

Did you impromptu the campgrounds or pre scheduled. I am never good at that.
We always pre-schedule. Some areas are really tough if not impossible to get into during busy season.
Hi
We are planning a trip exactly what your trip was.
How many days should we stay at Mt Rushmore ? And also at Yellow Stone ?
Thanks !

Are there no leveling jacks in the rear just up front ?
Has both front and back
Nice. We really enjoyed that area. We miss our exhaust brake on our Ram now that we have a Sprinter class C, but so far liking the rest.
Yes that exhaust brake definitely a bonus. Enjoy your new RV.
