I have saved so many of your tutorials. Delighted to say that I am employing this technique for my upstairs bathroom in 10 days once the bathroom renovators are finished. Well let you know the turnout and send a photo as well. P.S. Will mention your name and UA-cam tutorial library at the Royal Design Studio when I order the stencils.
I tried clicking the links and it said page not found sorry. Are these products still available? I am a safra certified Italian Venetian plaster applicator, however I have not done any plasterwork in 10 years or so. Safra closed years back and I have had trouble finding decent lime based products.
I am so overwhelmed with which treatment I would like for my walls now. after watching video after video, I must say, you are making it more difficult to decide which I'd like on my walls. This is both a blessing and curse at the same time. LOL I live in a place where the plaster has been knocked off/stripped from the (exterior) brick. (three layers of brick of course) but nonetheless, the plaster is no longer the interior portion of the wall and I have only exposed brick in MOST areas. Only here and there is there a small trace of a patch of plaster. Easy to knock off and start with a clean slate of brick. Can you do this directly over brick? Starting with the primer of course over the brick? Will I need to do any additional prep work to the brick or can I just prime over it ready to receive the plaster? Do you have any suggestions or information for me what I need to do to apply this over direct brick? Lastly, I would REALLY love to be able to insulate my walls. Can insulation fiberglass microfibers be embedded? I somehow feel the fiberglass microfibers should be incorporated into a layer of plaster first before applying this treatment. Please tell me I' right so I can feel liekI know what I'm somewhat doing. LOL Thanks. I love your content and your work. You really do make it difficult for me to decide what I want. :-)
Lots of questions, first thank you for watching. You can do this directly over break but what I would do would first be to make sure the brick is clean of course and I would put a bonding agent on the brick and then I would use a product such as Gauging plaster that can go on a stick is an inch and a half and give you a much smoother base and save you a lot of money. Gauging plaster is not as expensive as these materials and get some staging plaster is a line based product you can put the venetian o directly over top of it without a primer.. there is a plaster that I get from a distributor in New York that does have an insulating value to it it’s supposed to help reduce your heat and air-conditioning expenses by as much as a third. I can check with them tomorrow and send you The information if you would mind Email the studio and I’ll get that information for you it’s sales@theFaux School.com
@@RonaldLayman Oh man! You are the best. Thank for all of your information and time responding to my questions. Yes, may questions for someone who has never done anything like this. I do have many questions. I thank you so much for your time and efforts to answer them. I will definitely e-mail you regarding the specialized plaster to help me with insulation. I live in St. Louis, MO and brick is the prize of our city. Also, my home was built in 1889 so I am interested in insulation without having to use 2x4's, extending the room inward on all sides, and building a wall of air to fill with insulation. I want to try to remain true to the building yet still have modern technology built into it as much as possible. I am not exactly rich and I can't afford someone to come in do all of this for me, I can afford the materials and products and do it myself. As in life, where you cannot pay for something outright, you will pay with time on your own. I am willing. I hope that you understand, while you took the time to create the videos and share your knowledge, you have at least one person out here who is falling in love with what you've done for us and I plan on using what you've thought me through your videos. As they say, "As Iron can only sharpen iron, so too shall man sharpen man." I for one recognize it and I appreciate you! Just know that you someone out there will apply what they have learned from you, and enjoy the fruits of the labor and that you gave that person that ability. Godspeed brother! you rock!
Wow, I love the textural subtlety of this technique. You have a talent for this. Thanks for your videos, they inspire me to try it myself.
Thank you and thank you for watching
