The quality of this final is no where near the two semi final of the Men games yesterday, totally two different levels.
I still pray for Zheng every match she plays. At the first 2 set she still keep play safe just hit cross court back where Kalinskaya is standing to wait, like Rybakina did recently and lost the match instead of changing direction to strike down the line, the last set she changed the way back to which she good at, changing ball direction down the line then she got the set with higher scores than other first 2 sets. I am so happy for her victory, please finish what you wish for, my queen

Zheng Qinwen is having a great start to the season. One more win and she's in the final. Whoever she would face goes in with having already won a Major, but it's going to come down to nerves for the talented Chinese player if she gets there. Exciting times.

Zheng went into 5th gear in the third set. Started being aggressive on the key shots and her unforced error rate dropped significantly.

So excited for her! She's been consistently moving up the rankings since her near win against Swiatek at the FO a few years back. She has enough experience to do well in a final. She is definitely fit enough and is a superb athlete. Come on Qinwen!!! She should handle Yastremska fairly well as Yastremska hits a big ball and qinwen likes a lot of pace so she can get into a rhythm. Also how cool is it that the Grand Slam that is the grand slam for the Pan Asian world has a big Asian name like Qinwen in a good place to get to the finals! First Chinese since Li Na!

Zheng is special silky smooth especially the backhand on top of that she is an explosive athlete could be a number one player soon
Kalinskaya showed she’s got loads of potential and can play with the favorites. Qinwen was just superior and showed it through the 2nd set until the end.

Zheng has what it takes to win a major if she manages her emotions well. Anna reminded me of Dementieva, but with a far better serve. Good match!

Qinwen is always fun to watch. That forehand when she can control it is a force to be reckoned with. I do think tho she needs to learn not to aim back at opponent but hit away. She has a tendency to hit it back to them, making it easy. Then setting a losing shot for herself bc she didn’t have time to respond. She needs to learn strategy & smoothing out that serve. She has a hitch and I think it’s due to her nerves. Not feeling totally confident. She has the height and force, she has to work on her mental game & know she’s got it

If I were a woman anywhere near the top 25 I wouldn’t retire.
I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics.
Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
Appointing "flag police" at the AO 2023 was not even childish... it was embarrassing and insane...
Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq.
Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza.
