Learn From The Masters #9 - The Jazz Blues in C with Ray Brown
In this video we're looking at the bass playing of legendary jazz bassist Ray Brown who played the double bass on the Oscar Peterson Trio album, "Night Train" released in 1963. The song is the Duke Ellington classic, "C Jam Blues" .

very fun to play
Amazing videos.
i never know what to play on the jazz blues but ive got plenty of ideas now thanks man!
2:42-3:17 I can actually play that... I mean, at least the piano part.
Can you tell, what stings ang eq setup do you use?
I have Ernie Ball flatwounds on the fretless. I record the bass through my bass amp with a condenser microphone. My typical settings are bass around noon, low mids around 3 o'clock, high mids around noon - 1 o'clock and treble off because the knob isn't working properly! :P
Well Dome👏🏻
all good....often saw Ray Brown in LA area with the LA 4....only uprite tho.....
LA4 is my absolute favorite Ray Brown project, so I’m very jealous you saw them live😳
