    Good News it only takes 6 hours to charge the iGen160s on AC power not 7-8 hours as stated in the video!

      What I would like to know is how long it takes to charge when it's plugged into a car cigarette lighter plug, once it has been fully discharged - many of those power stations take 12-16 hrs to charge off car plugs or solar panels - they state that they will charge at the same rate as when there plugged in the wall but in fact often take twice as long to charge off a car or solar panels - that buzz or interference u heard on your device is because of the inverter it a FCC CLASS B inverter they create line noise, the CLASS A Part 15 inverters "create noise free powe"r but are exspensive - u did a good deminstration of what that unit can handle as far as up front loads - what u might do is see how long it will run while ur drawing off the 110 AC side with a light load - most power stations are over rated when it comes to actual battery capacity - if they state there battery's capacity is 150 watts - in reality with a lithium battery u might only have 50% of that capacity as usable energy & that's if u were charging or using a device that draws very little continues power - I would say 3-5 watts or so with that unit - if u use a fan that draws 25 watts it might only run 2 hrs or less and cut out on low voltage - as for a fan when camping lol it's an absolute must, in the south central & east in the summer - but u would need at least a 6-800 watt power station for a small fan to run all night at a 25 watt load - but it still has to be reilably charge the next day - LIFAN makes a small 600 watt camping inverter genretor( FCC Class A) - I don't recommend drawing more than 350 watts continues off that generator- it's ESI-860i-CA it will run a small fan for 7-9 hrs on a tank of gas or 1.5 quarts of gasoline ( but it does make noise) and can be hard to start it weighs about 15 lbs - ( it's better to use air cooled engine gas sold in lawnmower shops) instead of gasoline, that fuel doesn't gum things up like gasoline - I was an offshore oilfield electrician for decades - we generated all our own power so I have a full understanding of power production & battery tecnology - when my son's were young I would bring them on camping trips that lasted for mutable months and we used devices similar to that power station for fans, lights and the old Bag Phones lol - I used a Honda 650 watt camping generator and solar panels to charge the power station we had when living in a tent for long periods - I've been looking into that westinghouse 160 - so this was of interest to me -

    • @able880
      @able880 3 роки тому +1

      I've never used USB fans so I don't know any thing about what they draw - in the south when ur camping in a tent it helps to have a fan blowing air out of a tent - Mosquitos and Nats sence the Co2 we exhail if you have a fan blowing stagenet air out one of the openings of a tent when there is no breeze the mosquitos will smell the Co2 exiting at the fan and will try to gain entrance were the fan is blowing air out of a space instead of coming in thru screens or door ways - in the end u have a bug free space - for us that grew up in the south before air-conditioning know what I've mentioned

      @@Ectodex I'm guessing what ur saying is those Westinghouse electrical engineers haven't the slightest idea about what there saying when they say they designed that power station so it could be charged off a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug in a car - I'm guessing by your statement your also a electrical engineer and your far more intelegent and knowledgeable than the Westinghouse manurfactors engineers - could you give me an explanation to explane why you stated that Westinghouse engineers are not very intelegent - you have to be an engineer so I would appreciate a response from you thanks

    I just wanted to let everyone know that Westinghouse had nothing to do with the production of this generator. Westinghouse consumer products no longer exist as an entity except in a trademark that anyone (including you if you have enough money) can license and use. All consumer products with Westinghouse name on it is used under license. Westinghouse consumer products died in the 1970's. It's the same with other well-known US manufacturers such as RCA and GE. The names are used under license and the products are made by the Chinese. General Electric washers dryers and refrigerators are now owned by the Chinese. Some are still made in Louisville Kentucky. I foresee that production being shipped to China sometime in the future.

    I have those IKEA drawer LED lights that light up when you open the drawer. For my kitchen island that is on wheels and has no power, I'd like to try one of these. The LED strips are 2W to 10W and of course opened up just a few times a day for a few seconds. If I use one of these for the LED transformers, how long do you think it would last? Does the battery consume power with the fan when "on" but not putting out any power? I have no problem plugging in the battery every few months to re-charge it.
