The Dark Side of Nickelodeon

  • Nickelodeon is a channel that an absolute ton of people grew up on and still continue to grow up on. But despite all the memories of Spongebob, The Fairly Odd Parents, Drake and Josh, Victorious, iCarly, and many, many others, the channel has had a dark side hidden below the surface. A lot has come to life with the release of Jeanette McCurdy's book. So let's peel back the layers and see what was kept out of view.

      Would you ever talk about a British show, I am really interested in delving deep into what happened with Christopher Eccleston during his time on Doctor Who, even if you don't know the show you could just brush through the first modern season and talk about what happened backstage.
      Edit: it would be great if you can just pick out a topic about Doctor Who since on the 23rd is its 60th Anniversary.

I had no idea about the weird animator dating a minor, and yeah I think your last point is very important, we all should not only point fingers at the abusers but also at the parents letting their kids being abused while present, those money hungry parents are the root of the reason their kids got abused bc they LET IT happen just for a quick buck.

    Speaking of feet stuff.
    I vividly remember, there was a scene in Zoey101 where a little boy was stuck laying in bed and his feet were trapped in foot stocks. Then a girl removed his shoes and socks and tickled his feet for like a good 30 seconds and the camera stayed focus on his feet the whole time.
    Like… most of the other feet stuff can be secretly hidden as “whacky humor” for a kid to not notice but that is just RIGHT on the nose pure fetish shit. Not even hidden as a joke in any way. 🤢

      Some people have a fetish for hands or mouths or any body part. Does that mean everyone has to hide thier feet forever ?

    • @grimtheghastly8878
      @grimtheghastly8878 7 місяців тому +12

       @trapez77 the scene was children being used for fetish content. Softcore CP. Nobody is objecting to the concept of a body part being fetishized, theyre objecting to the fact that minors were involve and it was broadcasted publicly, though judging by your other comments i don't think you have an issue with children being used for fetish content with either which is quite sus tbh

    • @trapez77
      @trapez77 7 місяців тому

      @@grimtheghastly8878 give me a break. It wasn’t fetish shit. The first ever episode of Sesame Street starts with a kid in the shower. Disney’s channels dog with a blog has an episode where a kid licks peanut butter off another kids feet. You probly think it’s fetish shot because you get off on it. The icarly reboot doesn’t have the silly random stuff like that and nobody likes it.

    • @grimtheghastly8878
      @grimtheghastly8878 7 місяців тому

      @trapez77 This is probably the stupidiest thing I've ever heard all day. it is absolutely fetish shit and on the case of Zoey 101 bit, it's 100% meant to be sexual. There's no joke, no gag, and no context where an interaction like that makes sense. Its fetish bait involving minors. Any person with even half a braincell can see that. The amount of projection and defensiveness over feet shit in children's media is fucking weird bro. Why does it make it you so angry that people find this questionable? Is it maybe because we're poking at something about yourself that you're not ready to process yet? Do you like it when there are weird extended scenes of minors playing with their feet for no reason. Does that do anything for you?

And I didn't forget to mention all the weird foot things and how they infantilize Cat and force her to put on a childish high voice.

    Nick has always kind of had a bad history of hiring sickos. One of their animators, Ezel "Ethan" Channel, is a pretty notorious child mo??estor who got placed in prison twice, second time he got caught was 7 years, but got out around 2012 for some dumb reason. When they hired him he was already busted for trying to teach his underage neighbor how to rub one out shortly after his work on Eight Crazy Nights, which he tried on the second arrest too. A lot of them in the studio knew also he was into kids, they also were weirdos who also joked about popping wood by just sitting inside a cool looking car.
    I actually had the displeasure of working with him in my early 20s a decade ago, let's just say he tried a lot of sick stuff on me while working for him and also was like "being trans is bad, being a man should be your most prideful thing!". Irony for all the homo er0tic stuff he kept trying was, he said he wasn't gay! Luckily after I told my mom about it, she sent him a text message threatening to cut off his c*ck. He tried to stalk me several years ago on FB after the event, but I have kind of managed to evade him. Tbh, I was kind of a coward back in the day because of the situation to report him, because I was a guy and my father told me not to report it. Idk, feel guilty for not doing so ngl. ,=,

    When I think of the greatest live-action Nick shows, I rarely think of Dan Schneider shows. "Kenan & Kel" and "All That" are the only ones from Schneider that I liked from the golden age.
    I preferred "Clarissa Explains It All", "Secret World of Alex Mack", "Are You Afraid of the Dark", "Adventures of Pete & Pete", "the Mystery Files of Shelby Woo", "the Journey of Allen Strange", "Cousin Skeeter", "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd", "Caitlin's Way", "Brothers Garcia", "Taina", "the Nick Cannon show", "True Jackson VP", etc. They were all way better than iCarly, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and Victorious. Also, the overkill of SpongeBob and Dan Schneider ruined the network. The variety got thrown out the window at Nickelodeon by the late 2000s, thus causing the dark age for the network.

    The controversy surrounding Dan is extremely ironic. You can’t accuse the man of being perverted without you yourself being perverted. I’m not saying he wasn’t a pervert but I am saying none of his actuations would even be considered as evidence in a courtroom because they are so harmless to a pure mind. They aren’t inherently perverted or wrong. At most he’s the creepy uncle. Todays society sexualizes everything and everyone including children. That’s why kindergarteners have dress codes and many people feel uncomfortable seeing literal baby’s without clothes. It has gotten to the point that if you are not perverse you’re the most likely person to labeled as a pervert. The whole feet thing is ridiculous as well. We’re operating under the belief that this man belongs to the 1% of men sexually attracted to feet. While Hollywood is know for being home to many pedophiles and sex trafficking, not everything is what it seems. And making someone uncomfortable is not sexual harassment or assault. I wish more people understood these basic concepts

    • @natefontana5757
      @natefontana5757 7 місяців тому

      Not sure where you got that 1% from because the number is around at least 20%

    • @remingtonwatson2812
      @remingtonwatson2812 7 місяців тому

      @@natefontana5757 well for comparison the hub for feet fetishes, Reddit, is home to the largest collective group on the internet with a measly 374k members. These people are also active in multiple other groups on Reddit and other sites. It’s also worth mentioning that not all of these people are men. Feet fetishes are not natural, just like many other kinds, they are influenced. Without the internet there would be very few of these freaks of nature. So we take it that the vast majority of people with feet fetishes are active online. If we round up to a healthy suggestion we get a number around 1-2 million. 1% of Earths population is roughly 80 million, so I gave lots of leeway. Now if you look at polls of course they will generally be around the number you gave simply because the most likely people to sign up for a poll about fetishes are people with fetishes. Feet fetishes are rare, but they’re still one of the most common. And of course polls drawl from a insignificant number of participants. The one that appears on Google used only 500 something participants. Most people will never actually meet someone with this fetish but it is growing. At the time of dans accusations, this fetish was nearly nonexistent, particularly in mainstream.
