Man, I REALLY enjoyed that. I'm 59 now but I remember when I was younger we could stand in my Grandma's front yard and see The Flagship Hotel. Good memories!!! 👍
Wow my son graduate s in August and has been. Hiting it hard for 8 years soso proud of him first .1 of my 7 children to graduate college we r going to have such a awesome weekend to celebrate his accomplishment .cant wait .!!!
Im curious to know what camera filmed this it looks absolutely amazing 👏 like i think even better than in person, I've been to galveston alot. Wow such a beautiful video
It wasn't there until after the last hurricane wiped out most of the island that wasn't protected by the seawall. It took out that big fancy hotel, the Flagship. It was on the water. I went to nursing school there in the early 70's. So many memories.....
Galveston and it's beaches are a nice place. People love to take a big dump on Galveston and it's beaches, i.e., they're nasty, dirty, don't compare to California, Hawaii, Florida, etc, etc...or obviously not as pretty and cool as South Padre Island, but it's not that bad. Galveston beaches are not top tier, but they are not as shitty as people make them out to be. Galveston is a beautiful historical town, and the beaches are OK, nice enough. The breeze makes it cool, even in the summer months, much cooler than the rest of Texas.
galveston island (more specifically, pleasure pier) is probably my favorite place and i’ve been wanting to move there from dallas since i was a kid... i miss it like crazy and your videos have helped so much :((
Hah, you believe it was a hotel? Lol. That's exactly what the government wants you to think. The hotel was just a front. They turned it into Pleasure Pier since they needed a new disguise and it looks like they have you all fooled. Lol.
@yaya i was in a hotel there recently, I woke up in the middle of the night to see a big figure standing above me i was so scared but when i closed my eyes and then opened them back up the shadow was gone, I haven't told my parents becasue they would be scared to go back and i love Galveston.
The pier is historic because it was the place of the Flagship Hotel before a hurricane destroyed it. The amusement park is a great way to continue to give life to the pier.
@@chrisharper530 I live in Corpus and it is boring here unless you like to fish all day. Both Galveston and South Padre Islands are much better then North Padre Island.

Great place to visit. My family just visited about a week ago, we had a blast. It was so much fun ! Can't wait to go back.!
🍎 very cool walk. Really enjoyed seeing that pier. It reminds me a bit of Santa Monica though the beach is much different. Love all the colors. - H

I remember the flagship hotel being on the pier. I moved away to oklahoma. Came back and the flagship was gone and an amusement park was in its place.
very good😊 thank you as always😃
Arigato!
I can close my eyes and still see the hotel that was once there, and I remember the rails that kept rollerskaters from falling down the sea wall edge
If I’m not mistaken Hurricane Ike destroyed the hotel
@@chrisharper530 You are correct.
That hotel was awesome! It was kinda rundown but still fun
What hotel was that?
Excellent video!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!

I wish I was at the pier, just for the yummy food like chicken strips, fries, pizza, soda, cotton candy, popcorn, mozzarella sticks, etc.
I want to live there!

I was born in Galveston
But then we had to move because of the hurricane
Yes! Can you do please Sugar Land Town Square.
That pier built for Flag Ship Hotel and damaged in hurricane; then this built on pier.
Nothing left of the original one but the location. But yeah this one was built in 2011 opened in 2012
It was Saturday June 6th right? When you walked on the pier?
Me and my family been here for vacation
Santa Monica❤️
Nice vídeo
Reminds me of a similar location in GTA 5. :)
That's in Santa Monica Pier. You can see it here:

Santa Monica in California not Texas
@@californiamade5608 rm didn’t say it was anyway...
Is it good place for 6 year old boy ?
How much is admission for adults vs. kids to just get in the park?
I spent over $100 for 4 Adults admission. Nothing in Galveston is cheap. I lived there many years.
Sir I like your videos can you please some add cinamatic shoot .
Did the lady officer , security take the girls photo?
Ellis Pier...❣️💘

Renovation began in 2011? Lol. It was destroyed 1961. It was a hotel for years. Then it was rebuilt. Renovation? Lol.

Not really that historic. Everybody that lives here knows it's a money pit.
