Your Videos Tom, are helping me so much with a neighbour's dog called Charlie (Shelter rescue) I walk him four days a week. He is two years old, Queensland Heeler (Australian Cattle dog) Boxer cross who has never been trained, and is hugely reactive to wildlife etc, etc. I now have him walking on heel, sitting, threshold sitting, lying down, shaking paws, and coming, on leash, ONLY. He can also do all this on a long leash without me holding it by my side. I am now working on " leave it "and " place". His owner keeps him on Leash constantly day and night as he will disappear and chase wild life and pay no attention to him at all. I so wish I had you to help this guy understand his dog. Thank you for all the tips that have helped me to help Charlie to begin to have happy walks out in nature with me. He is a great little buddy. Many Thanks Muffy from Oz (Australia) . PS We cannot use many of the tools you use in Australia which I know would help Charlie with his recall and reactivity, it's a real pity.

Henry really came far. Also, I’ve been thinking about this recently where a meetup could be set up in different communities where people with neutral or aggressive or unsocialized dogs could get together for practice. Because thats the hardest part, real world practice around other dogs with responsible owners. Like I’m fine if a dog has issues, but I’m a lot less fine if it comes with an owner that doesn’t at the very least know how to keep them restrained (with proper equipment if its necessary). I get a lot of attention when I’m out training my dogs, but I still don’t bring them too close to other dogs because its enough keeping both eyes on and handling them, and I know I can’t trust the people around me that have dogs after seeing their lack of dog walking skills letting their dogs walk too far in front, jump, or drag them.

Great video.. All of them are great.. I told myself after the passing of my German Shepherd Renegade in Jan. 2023 that I would devote more time for learning what Tom does. I received Renegade as a puppy & he lived almost 10yrs. I learned so much about training him & also what I did right & wrong. I enjoy watching Tom's videos & learn so much from them & look forward to using all I have learned with my new fur-pup when I get him or her. My goal..... To be able to have a fur-pup just like Tom's dog Lakota & also to be able to if possible teach others how to help or handle their pups as well.. Thank you Tom & staff.. I also joined the 'No Bad Dogs Army" as well to learn even more.

We're about to start a training class with about a dozen other dogs so it's going to be interesting to see how he handles it. He's not truly an aggressive dog if he's introduced to another dog the right way he'll usually end up being friends and they can play. So I know it's not pure aggression. He's intact if that makes a difference in his a Dalmatian with Australian cattle Dog and some extra Australian dingo. Working with him has been a real challenge at the same time it's been really fun because he's a very smart dog!

Less than a week ago, we rescued a 5 month old German Shepherd mix puppy. We currently have a reactive 14.5yo Aussie. This puppy has been an all around gem, fast learner, super sane and stable and sociel, she's responding awesomely to my Aussie's grumpy reactions (they're doing well together). I started watching your videos before I picked her up, and have continued to do so. My question is, how do I keep her this way?! Lol. I would desperately like to avoid the typical GSD behavioral issues that arise with GSD pet owners. I have fostered and kind of trained dogs for 15 years, but it's been years since I had a puppy and I'm terrified I'm going to screw her up.

By adding structure (a daily routine, basic obedience, leash skills) it give your dog a more easy way at life. Also check out the no bad dogs kickstart course.
