another sword that shouldve been mentioned is the NG Gold Sword, its basically the same as Club except magic replaces the defense, so with +5 strength & magic you can have better elemental infusions + drills aside from that excellent video my man, great to see this kind of content for these parts of the game!!
Another awesome video, it’s honestly crazy how I used to play this game as a kid and even now as an adult people like you can still make this game feel very fresh
I always will use Green Knight, but still seemed very helpful, and sounds like something that would work. Also every time I see "Insane Mode", or hear it from you, it makes your "Level 1 Insane Mode Run!" Echo, echo around in my head!
I'm on a quest to complete insane mode with EVERY character, I have beat it with gray knight, blue knight, alien and barbarian in that order (with barbarian being the fastest of the 4). Right now I'm about to try with the pink knight, and next in line are the king and green knight.
why is this motivating me to continue my psycho first time insane mode challenge with green knight. I had already forgotten the dumb idea but why did I now remember it xd
This may be an unpopular take but ive been using the Skeletor Mace. The agility is so high I can run around and dodge attacks with such ease, its insane.
I bought the game again! And after 10 years of inactivity. I beat Troll Mother on Insane Mode. FIRST TRY, on a low-level character. My goal is to be at Worst’s skill level. But, that’d take a while. 💀 I gotta get the hang of the game again before I do that.
Thank you for the donation!! With enough practice, I’m confident you will make it to worst’s level! First trying troll mother is already an amazing feat
For those curious, Crit chance really gets way better with higher crit chances- it helps to visualize them as the smallest fraction. for example, Gold Skull Mace (my personal preferred weapon) has a 4% crit, or 1/25. Compared to the 3% crit, at 1/33. The jump from 1% to two is the biggest, from 1/100 to 1/50. The jump from 4 to 5 is the smallest, 1/25 to 1/20. While chainsaw technically has a higher crit, I prefer Gold for its +3 to strength and a slightly lower chance. Good luck, Crashers!
@romainaeschylus There is no very specific reason but the +7 defense is really good and red knight's magic is OP cos it stuns. It's a little slow killing things about halfway through the game but it lets you stun enemies which is great.
Finally somebody else truly recognizes Blue Knight's power. Man has a literal infinite and he isn't the best? Get outta here, I would've never beat the Groom solo with any other character lol
You can stunlock the groom with well timed, max agility bow shots if you are able to shoot him to the left wall. It works. The hardest part is just making sure he's in the correct position and getting the rhythm of the shots to be as fast as possible.
-Suggests Mancatcher to help beat insane mode. -Doesn't mention you get Mancatcher by effectively completely most of Insane mode (You buy it in the Snowlands store, exclusively in Insane Mode) EDIT: you get this right out of the gate on PC if you own the Blacksmith DLC; I forgot about that, sorry!
@@IDGCaptainRussia i didnt mention it in the video and is honestly an oversight by me, i forget that consoles get the mancatcher in the snow store insane, my bad
Yeah, I've been rocking the chainsaw on my ice knight for a bit now. I like the high defense, and I like the crits. Current pet's the snail because I seem to juggle better with lower agility, but I still need to improve somehow.
Hey Recker, binged most of your CC videos and love them but noticed you never mention the bow/agility? The bow can be extremely viable. The groom boss fight can be stunlocked with the bow if you hit him on the left side. As well as most mobs/beefys in the game you can juggle/stunlock with the bow and with the max agility you can easily reposition if they get too close.
Whenever I start a new character run I always level agility first. Since I'm going to juggle anyway I might as well get the most experience too since this game gives you EXP per hit, not per kill. So it makes sense to use weaker hits in the juggle. Faster agility/speed makes juggling much easier.
i would always priortise strength/defence over agility for insane mode due to the high number of enemies and juggling being the most effective way of defeating them. with blue knights magic, you dont really need to use the bow. but with that being said, bow is still good to use :)
Ahh, that definitely makes sense to upgrade strength/defense for insane mode. My reason for agility first, is to beat the first run with no strength to unlock insane mode. Then do the Troll Mother boss fight in insane mode a few times, completely ignoring her and focusing on the enemies she spawns to level up very quickly. It would be a grind, for sure, but a character can reach max level very early on insane mode doing the fight with no strength. I level agility to the max first, then magic for offense when the bow lacks DPS at times, then defense, and finally hold off on strength until I have enough skill points to fully max it out in one go. There might be faster exp methods that I don't know about. But that's what I discovered when the game first came out years ago.
The way crit calcs work out you’d want the Man-Catcher over something like the Golden Mace every time. Crit is best used to accentuate high base damage! Not a replacement stat.
I’m at the level where you get the telescope. I’m playing with the industrialist level 70 and boy is this hard hardly any room for error. 4 hits pretty much kills you. 😫😭 thieves forest and lava world have been absolutely brutal.

Currently stuck on the desert with the Iceskimo, and of course of ALL the levels to get stuck in, it has to be the desert.
I'm also stuck on it, it is so horrible...
i understand your pain
What's the biggest issue about the desert for you? The scarabs? Or the royal guards?
In every insane mode playthough I never first try desert . But full moon is the one I always get stuck on for insane , even with glitches

Character: Red Knight
Weapon: Unicorn Horn
Pet: Beholder (Bipolar Bear on Bosses)
I play castle crashers on console(Xbox 360)the club gives 5 strength 4 shield and minus 5 agility and it still has crit chance???
