Great video. I feel confident now. I'm sure you save me a lot of time reading and trying to figure it out with the black and white instructions they sent! I'm so excited to use this new incubator. I have a hovobator which works fine, but this one seems so much more precise. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking your time to do this video.
Thanks for the clear instructions. I also got mine today, didn't know about the functioning of the peristaltic pump and was worried it would all get tangled up and force the motor, but I can see the water travelling along the silicone pipe now! I shortened the pipe as you said and there is some spare in case of wear and tear, good old English. Going to leave it on tonight and put my fertile eggs in there tomorrow hopefully.
So glad I found this video. I didn't have the tubing hooked up properly on the pump. The directions are good but apparently I didn't understand that step. Can't wait to set up a batch of duck eggs. Thank You!
Thanks buddy. Your video was a big help. When I first opened the box, I was worried they sent me a used unit based on the appearance of the interior cardboard and loose literature inside. Same with bits and pieces of cardboard and what not inside the unit.. Mine was exactly the same. I’ll go check out your other video on the operation of this unit.
@@hazelcreekheritagefarm8092 we just had 2 chicks hatch at 11 days incubation. They look good. Could the people we got our eggs from miscalculated on theirs ?
I just got mine set up. the tubing was a little difficult to connect. I made a small slit in the end. I soaked that end a few minutes in very hot water. I used bright light and my strongest glasses to get it on. Once I got the end barely on I just kept pushing it repeatedly until it was all the way on. Maybe 5 or 6 times of pushing with my fingertips was needed. Hopefully that will help someone!
Can you make a second video on how to set up the temperature, humidity, 21 day hatching cycle, 18 day turning cycle, etc etc. You know how to use the buttons on it. I found your videos very thorough and helpful and would appreciate all the next steps. Thanks
Hi, thank you very much for your video. I have 2 questions about the 56 EX. Can you tell me if there is an alternative for the evaporation blocks? And can you tell me the diameter for the water hose? Pump hose? I think 2x3 or 3x4 mm? Many thanks for your help Greetings Toni
Awesome! I’m Glad I could help! I have used paper towel in place of the the blocks, as thick as the depth of the holder, and have found no difference between the two, so that should save some money/ wait time for delivery, as for the tubing , I couldn’t tell you the exact size, however it is widely available at www.good2goco.ca , or the brinsea website.
at day 18, lockdown... I cant find any information in the manual what to do with the ovation EX 28 to increase the humidity. Should you manually fill the hatcher with water or should you just increase the % in settings and the pump will do that job? The hatchers ive used before, you just added water in an extra area. A area for 1-18 and +B for day 19-21. Increasing the area of water alot. Thanks
Hey there! So we find that putting the humidity to 56 at lockdown, because as the eggs hatch, the humidity goes up on its own. It works well for us, trust the brinsea… it will figure it out😜
I love this incubator, had an amazing hatch! However, now after cleaning my turner if not right. I did exactly how I was supposed to but it won’t sit right in place. Any suggestions?!
First of all thank you for watching! And thanx for the comment. I have a fairly recent video up of dialing in the incubator which explains how to set the incubator up as if you were ready to put in your eggs to start incubating. It explains the right placement for the top cover over the turner gear… I’m sorry I don’t quite understand what your asking exactly, but I hope this updated video helps with your question , and if not, let me know!
Ya no problem! Set your temperature at 99.5 F. Set your humidity 50% until day 18 and then put it up to 55% - 56% when on lockdown. But the humidity settings do depend on the area your in, so try those settings and you might have to adjust accordingly if you live in more of a moist area. Our turning mose is always set to 45 mins. Let me know if that’s what your looking for and if you have any more questions!
Hey there. No these incubators are factory calibrated, and I have tested them with another temperature/ hydrometer to se sure it’s accurate. It is very accurate even after hatching for three years. Thanks for the comment and watching! Hope this helps!!
