We are looking to get a caravan in just a few years so we started looking around already and looked at a few caravans already. I really Love the look of the Basecamp, fresh and modern, and light and easy to tow, Perfect for your (and our…) plans for touring through Europe. But what puts me off for now is the door and the awning being at the back whilst the bbq connection is at the front, and more importantly for me personally, there is No place to sit down for a cuppa in the morning while the other half is still asleep... Maybe the Basecamp 3 could be a better option for us, but we will see about that when our time comes. I find the Basecamp range rather expensive, so maybe in due time we can find a good deal for a used van, just like you did.
Hi thanks for your comment. Totally agree with your reasoning and my advice would be to go and look around and sit it them all before you decide to buy, nothing says you have to buy from a dealer but we spent time looking around them and then bought private. We looked at all models. The BC2 has by far the biggest bed and I’m 6ft 4. Also the 5m gas pipe runs to the back of the van into the awning so no issues there from us. The porch awning is quite comfortable and whoever is up first tends to just go in there and stick the kettle and take a seat so it’s never bothered us. Brilliant vans all round though and I think you pay for what you get, if you are going private as for service inspections and carry out a CRiS check. Good luck with your search 🤘👍
@@Travelnortherners thanks for your positive reaction. I myself tend to have trouble sleeping, so I need a space to sit down, read a book and have a drink while my Mrs is fast asleep. The new 2023 model BC3 looks absolutely perfect for our purpose, so hopefully there will be a few of those up for sale at a reasonable price in the next few years. Forward thinking, hopefully that will work. I just love the fresh and modern interior of the BC range, that’s a breath of fresh air. But… we might just decide on a Hobby Beachy caravan, very basic and very cheap, but you can buy all necessities separately, it looks absolutely brilliant, Young and Fresh, a Huge bed, and… it takes an additional 400 Kgs of luggage……
@kazhilly yeah they are also nice vans. The BC3 should be the perfect fit for you but as you say they are quite pricey. Fingers crossed for you both we hope you get sorted very soon. In the meantime if there is anything you are unsure about with the BC just ask, we can show you on our channel :). Many thanks 🙏
@@lindarichards4108 aww thanks so much for your kind comment 🧡💙. We purchased from Amazon, hopefully link works below. They have been well worth it :) amzn.eu/d/2QmZWqx
Thanks for watching :). Yeah we realised after searching we found some cheaper for around that price, there must be a few people who have done the same thing 😂.
Liked your video, but you shouldn't use a pressure washer on a caravan. It's not worth it as you can damage the sealant and also get past the rubber seals as well.

Thanks so much for all your effort in putting this together. Really helpful and informative. A base camp is on our shortlist. Cheers!
Thank you so much really appreciate it. We are away in ours all next week so there will be more footage of it in action. Cheers 😊
Niggles and glitches and running repairs and improvements are definitely half the fun imo. Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋

Thanks for watching Colin, yeah it was on the lowest setting on the karcher. More like a fine spray than power matey. 👍
