Do you know how wide the wood veneer you're using is? Cause I'd assume that would make a difference in the look and how big to cut the pieces. Also, do you happen to know what kind of wood it is? I like the light color... If I bought a light color like that would I be able to stain it? I mean I'd assume so since it's real wood... But I'd figured I'd ask in case you've tried it yourself. Lol.
Hi Alecia! I’m pretty sure the veneer is maple and the size is a little over 1.25” I honestly haven’t tried staining it, but if you have some stain from other projects you can test it out on a small piece and see if it works!

Hi Zipporah! I wouldn’t suggest using this material outside (especially if you live in a rainy/snowy area) - I think the rain would definitely ruin it. Vinyl could work but you would have to find a flexible one and make sure you have the right adhesive. I feel like rattan might be good for outdoors but have not tried it so I don’t know how easy it is to work with. If you do find something for outdoors, would love to know how you did it!

Thanks 🙏 You can get the veneer at the hardware store or on amazon. The one I used was maple veneer and was 1”3/8 wide. Hope that helps!
