नैन हीन को राह दिखा प्रभू
This is an eternal Bhajan / Prayer of every person of any race, creed or religion. It reignites the flame of complete surrender to his Lord.
KL Saigal, sang it in his intense heart piercing voice for the movie Bakat Surdas. I feel, only sarswati Lata ji can bring the depth of feelings of the words expressed by Kundanlal Saigal.
The great poet DN Madhok wrote this beautiful piece of poetry and the grand composer Gyan Dutt created this fabulous composition..
I have compiled this video keeping in mind the love and devotion of Meera ji to her Lord, who prays for the right path to reach Him.

स्ववरसम्राज्ञी लताजी ने अपनी श्रद्धाङ्जली के रूप मे पुनः उसी तर्ज-संगीत मे यह गीत गाया और चार चाँद लगा दिये. सौभाग्य की बात है कि, आज लताजी वाले उसी गीत पर आपने जो व्हिडीओ बनाया..संत सूरदास मन मे छा गये...आँखे नम हो गयी. इस गीत के प्रत्येक शब्द, प्रत्येक पंक्ति को आपने ठीक सूझबूझ के साथ चित्रान्वित किया.
" तुम्हारी नगरिया की कठीन डगरिया
चलत चलत गिर जाऊँ, प्रभू.." अथवा

पूरा गीत तो श्रवणीय है ही, पर आपकी इस करामत से मै प्रभावित हो उठा. धन्यवाद, मुख़्तार भाई.●

Thank you Mr. Mukhtar and UA-cam and this wonderful modern age of technology. A beautiful song with timeless wisdom. I looked up Sehgal's version also but was disappointed at the recording quality. I am sure those who had the pleasure of listening to him in his era carry lifelong memories.
I have the original song by K L Saigal on a 78RPM record with the best sound quality: H. 1026. The original was better than the tribute version however Lata ji has rendered it nicely as well
The original 78 rpm record has much better sound quality. From the research papers on sound recording it can be seen that the sudden improvement took place in 1948! There were many deficiencies earlier: absence of lower frequency spectrum that is Bass, very high audio volume compression (this suppresses original उतार चढ़ाव, distortion and extremely high intermodulaion distortion of the order of 18% against max. permissible 1% -- overall effect is the reproduced sound becomes telephonic. Lata ji's recording includes sound enhancing techniques. The rerecorded Saigal's versions again introduced further sound compression?
If you listen to the 78 rpm version and employ volume Volume expanders, the real voice quality of Saigal would be discovered, which is far superior to other versions recorded by so many artists including LataDidi.
My journey is from Shri K L Sehgal to Smt. Lataji. Yes, technical difference is explicitly visible and it's impact can be felt. Still, K L Sehgal's rendering is appreciable with lots of limitations in technical terms. Similar technical limitations can be seen in Holy dance by Sandhya in Navrang film. It's master piece dance.
So you can enjoy art in every sphere of film of that age. Each artist will give more than 100% of his or her capabilities. Theirs hard work is no matching of today's so called great artist. the title they provide to themselves Sadi ka Mahanayak 🤔

This non-film heart rending song is not sung by Geeta Dutt ji, actually this poignant renderings by Asha ji. The Lyrics are by Bharat Viyas ji and the beautiful composition is by Nikhil Ghosh ji.
