Hi Rory, Here is a Really Good Documentary about the Year Elvis Exploded onto the Scene in 56. E L V I S 5 6 Lightyear Entertainment 1 Hour Documentary
They remind me of being a kid as well. My brothers were adults when I came along out of the blue when Mum thought she'd gone through the stage of having any more babes. When I got married, one of the wedding gifts was a guitar clock from my big brother. I agree with you about Tommy Cooper, Elvis was such a great performer as we all know, and the ability to talk and joke, definitely has a ring of Tommy's stand up comedy. Listening to these tracks, having watched yhe videos, you can see in your mind, all the moves and facial expressions 🙂 Even after all these years, people are still wishing him Happy Birthday. Happy heavenly birthday Elvis xx ❤
1969 elvis was like a wild animal that had just escaped 9yrs locked in a cage (hollywood/movie soundtracks) a pure raw powerful excited elvis a literal crime it wasn't professionally filmed and most of the live albums are bootlegs or from soundboard thankfully most of these live recordings have been remastered thanks rory:)
@@belinda35_77 thank you so much! ☀️ I am enjoying Zakk celebrates Elvis at the moment. I love it!💚 Thank you for doing so much for Elvis and the Elvis fans! ❤️✨
@@marion_R im so happy you found zakks elvis bday livestream and are enjoying it! i asked him to do it and hoped other fans would find his ch because of it!
The Title "Hot August Night" was on the cover of a Neil Diamond album cover. The year 1969 was a mysterious one. Three of his movies were released yes, but no professional filming of his grand opening in Las Vegas. And what's more Elvis did not wear white jumpsuits then. That didn't start until 1970. He was rail thin in 1969. He looked in better shape than he was in his 20s.
Hi Rory, funny, heard this concert from this CD yesterday. It´s absolutely fire. In my opinion the best time in his career. FTD stands for Follow That Dream and it´s the label. This show ist from August 25th 1969. There are some cut shows from August 1969 on CD from that label, also studio outtakes.
This album is so great. Why someone didn’t video tape this his first live performance in 9 years is beyond me. It’s now historic and all we have are still photos. The album is so great. Great heartfelt reaction. 😊❤❤🎸🕺🏻🎸🕺🏻🎤🎤
this is aug 25th 1969 his return to live shows after being stuck in Hollywood & doing movie soundtracks for nine yrs in las vegas at the international hotel this is coming off the 68 special :)
FYI, Bruce Springsteen does an different version of Elvis’ Follow that Dream. It’s on UA-cam. He is in another country and is wearing black. He mentions Elvis whom he loved. Check it out. ❤
yeah this is pure raw excited elvis so much power and raw energy like a caged animal that has finally bust loose from 9 yrs imprisonment in a small cage this should have been "thats the way it is" not the 1970 engagement (though i love it too) but just imagine if 1969 had gotten thats the way it is treatment i wanna cry when i think about it!!
@@belinda35_77 yeah, i wish there was good quality footage of '69 elvis. I saw some months ago footage here on youtube of elvis in late 1970. Maybe september or october of that year? Elvis sounded even better than in "that's the way it is"! He was singing the start of hound dog really high. It's as if he came off a led zeppelin concert and got really inspired hahaha.
@@virtualsnake1994 i think your talking about sept 1970 but i know what your referring to i am thankful we have the lil bit of 8mm film from 69 thanks to the fans maybe someday it'll be properly remastered..or even better some private collector will release some hidden footage from 69 they've been sitting on i know there is some unseen stuff out there there has to be
Absolutely love the reactions to full shows. Please do more! I have a large collection of Elvis 8mm films if you would want to react to some and I will post them as the ones I have on my channel currently aren't the greatest quality. I can also edit it in with the full concert audio.
just checked out your ch and am looking forward to checking out some of the clips ive probably seen most of them but always watch because there's always that chance of seeing a performance for the first time!! id love to see rory do some of them! subbed to your ch :)

This is one of THE greatest gigs ever recorded. The bulk of it was used on the LIVE AT THE INTERNATIONAL live LP released in 1969. The CD is as rare as hens teeth. It's on the FTD label (Follow That Dream) which is a collector's offshoot of RCA. If you ever come across it, just buy it. Thanks for reacting to this one Rory.

He did a few concerts in 1961, plus his 1968 shows for the Christmas special, so it wasn't really nine years. Our man was enjoying himself!
Also, he wasn't stuck with anything. He did more than movies and soundtracks during the '60's. Hit after hit after hit.
