i do the hand on top of the ball as well. it works perfectly for me and i love it. i turn my feet as well and shoot from my eye. the shot feels effortless
You're 1000% right about the exaggerated elbow tuck man. I had that same problem with ring finger releases and was trying to compensate in all kinds of crazy ways. Then I watched guys like Booker, PG, and Lillard and noticed they load at midline or slightly left which creates a natural elbow flare. Now my releases are waaay cleaner, less sidespin and fewer left right misses. Trae's way is just another method to avoid that same mistake. Dope content!
Petar Švonja there is no perfect jump shot tbh, Ray Allen shot was two motion kind of, or at least 2k makes it look like that plus the highlights i watched
Great video coach. Quick question: how do you shoot turnaround shots with a one-motion, lower-set-point shot? I think the emphasis shifts to your footwork (e.g. step-backs; step-outs - so you can't watch Jordan, Kobe, D Wade, Kawhi too closely.) Would be great to get your take, though.
I had a coach like that :( 80% free throw shooter till they told me I had to shoot above my head . I was a taller player back in the day as well very disappointing
I remember a year ago when I was a trash shooter it always looked like it was gonna go in but not be never did until shot mechanic gave 1 tip keep ur arms tucked in I went from a 32% shooter from 3 to 42% and 62% inside the 3 to a 76% drastically improved thank u
His problem is he's not pacing himself like Lonzo ball did. Trae is taking shots he normally takes in collage. Here's the thing, Trae is an extremely good shooter and at the next level it gets harder so he should just take normal regular 3 pointers instead of his usual long contested ones then work his way up to his comfortablity in shooting
I would have been one of those coaches who would "ruin" Trae's shot by asking him to cock the wrist early and move the V arrangement of arm and forearm to more of "U" arrangement. IThe believe the V arrangement to be a holdout from youths wanting the extra leverage to shoot 3s and results in shots being flat, arc-less. But I have a kid usimg that arrangement who manages to get a nice arc on his ball. So I'm half convinced to let him krep the arrangement. The video is truncated at points. Can it be fixed and reloaded? Appreciate your work.
What you do is rotate your wrist, or drag it to the center of the ball. But Steph doesn't rotate to the complete middle so he uses a guide hand thumb flick. Hope this helps
Here are the reasons why you should not get your coach to teach you how to play the game of basketball unless your coach is a trainer or was a player. 1. They force you to shoot to quickly like there's a rule where a player has to get off a shot with 0.3 seconds left and if they don't then they will say: YoU nEEd To GeT yOuR sHoT uP qUiCker. 2. They have no idea where your hands should be when you shoot and they have no idea how a player should do their signature moves. And 3. Most of your coaches have never played on a basketball team before so most of what they say they know nothing about. And all of those 3 reasons are examples of when one of my coaches 3-4 years ago kept telling me to get my shot off quicker and telling me to practice shooting with him and most of the time I didn't do it because my jumpshot was already quick enough and so then he decides to start me on the bench in some games and he took me off the floor in close 4th quarter games and in most of those games we lost because he didn't put me back on the floor or leave me on the floor and so then after he did all of that I ran him off my team in the next Off-season then he was being delusional by making up excuses like Oh yOu CaN't WiN wItHoUt PlAyInG aS a TeAm and almost 1 year ago now he said that if I play selfish then he's sitting my ass on the bench and so then I called him a casual who knows nothing about basketball and so because of All of that drama that's going on I'm officially leaving my current team after this season to play for another team who actually plays intense basketball.
Anthony Bennett i think its more he is buying into his own hype so he has some pretty bad shot selection, there is a difference between confidence and arrogance on the basketball court smart shot selection is a big part of early success by taking good shots he will build more consistence and more winning basketball, its cool if he can make 30+ feet away but its not very effective basketball if it takes him 7 tries to make 1.
Want to see NEW content on this channel. This video was unique but most of your videos are repetitive, meaning you repeat the same secrets over and over again - like tilt your feet and such. No hate though, this channel helped me a lot. I shoot 70% from the 3 because of you.
I also believe this channel might be struggling with views rather than earlier on, it would be great if you could meet up with ILB and do a 1 vs 1, that could help the channel. Again, no hate, just a suggestion.
Yo coach I‘ve got a question to your Devin Booker video bc I want to copy his shooting form. I just wanted to know if u do that Zig Zag form with your body and your upper body has to point towards the ground how do I manage to still see the basket? I’d really appreciate an answer
Come on, low set point is a problem, shooting faster is just a way to make up for it. Trae Young is already struggling in the summer league. It is wrong to tell people you don't have to change your set point, every player should try to have a higher set point, especially if you are a big man who shoot in the post.
@@Phillesfan8 No, it doesn't age a single second. Low set point is a problem and will always be. Trae can take shot from half court, and getting his shot off pnr which he can just hide behind the screen and take shot from deep. That's why it works for him. For any other player that doesn't have infinite range, and isn't the primary ball handler, they will struggle.
I've got a problem, i am a little guard but with long arms and big hands , can anyone tell me if its better a 1 or a 2 motion shot (I am more confortable with a two motion shot (hang shot) but in now NBA most guards shot with a 1 motion shot) Sorry about the english , i dont speak it Please , i need answers Thanks
my best form is when I shoot I thumb the ball and uses my index finger and shoot from my eye or eyebrow idek I mean it works but I won't a perfect form bc mines is ugly
Trey Young is a little bad a shooting in Atlanta Hawks. I think the only way to fix his shot is you help him coach, a are an amazing shooter all the video I see you shooting, you miss a single shot. So I think you should like visit him if you can, try to help him with his shot when he play in the NBA.

Eyrthon Cottereau Trae put the pressure on himself. He did all that big boy talking about he's a better shooter than Steph. Which he has failed to show.
Eyrthon Cottereau obviously, hopefully he'll find his rhythm and/or make better shot selections. If not then Atl made a bad decision trading Luka for Trae
Eyrthon Cottereau okafor came at the wrong era and the wrong time. He was a beast in college, but the very next year, the Sixers got Joel Embiid, who was everything that Jahlil but better. And Okafor came right into the start of the 3pt shot era, which literally got rid of midrange Pick and Roll and posting up. If he came into the NBA 10 years ago, he would’ve been a guaranteed HOF
Hi Hi All he had to say was steph is one of the greatest shooters of all time, and I know I'm going to go down as one of the greatest shooters as well. The way he went about it was very cocky and arrogant. If he was more humble with it.Ppl would probably give him some more slack.
