Hey crystal! I have a few tips, you can go into canter without constantly pressing the speed up button, you can do this by holding one of the left or right arrows above the speed up button (I hope this makes sense)

hey it says in the pink circle the sex, a lot of the ones you called he are actually a she and vice versa. the ones with a circle with a perpendicular line is female, and the ones with an arrow are males
