We used to go to gatlinburg years ago. The last time I went was in October of 2019. It was so crowded. It has just not enjoyable anymore for me. Shoulder to shoulder walking along the main drag. Took about 45 minutes to go from the park entrance to our hotel near the aquarium. Some may not be bothered by the crowds. I just can’t deal with it anymore.
I agree, and was just thinking the same thing I live only about three hours from Gatlinburg and I used to love to go, but it’s so commercialized and crowded. It’s just not the same pretty soon there won’t be a mountain left to see if this keeps up.

I don't know TBH... for me personally, I find that the best things in and around the area has always been what you come across that doesn't cost a dime. Just the beauty of the Smokies in the Fall is TRULY a gift that's in great abundance! As far as how I pronounce pecan.... it's A,B,C & D depending on just what pops out 🤣! Since this could be our last trip, most likely our last long trip there because of our need to move here, we are grateful to be coming again in the fall….we are planning to see a couple of things we have not seen & then see the things we love as much as possible; the leaves, Dollywood fall & Christmas displays, & of course & most especially: the bears of Cades Cove!! We are meeting a few friends there that we have met over the years….really nice folks, two of which are a couple that live in Townsend & go there almost every day😮!! Counting our Blessings🙏🏻

We are hoping to make it there in a few weeks from Florida to see the fall leaves and weather. On a side note, have you ever been to Joe and Pops Sub Shoppe? Tried it when we visited Gatlinburg a few months back, what a gem!
I sure would love to get up there during the fall. But we are going back to Epcot right after Thanksgiving with my oldest daughter and son in law. We will come up next year.

wondering if there are retail stores in that area, such as department stores that sell everything other than Walmart? I remember the gorgeous Polly Bergen department store in Gatlinburg it was several stories and nice shopping. bet you don't remember that store !
I am coming down to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg in 10 days and I’m bringing my dog for the first time. Could you tell me what are some pet friendly things to do?
We try to mention on any attraction or restaurant we cover if dogs are allowed. We don't have a comprehensive video on that topic but hope to make one someday!
Can you check what appears to be a new distillery alone the side road of smoky mountain knife works. It is either new or maybe a distillery that went out of business. I would be interested to find out if it is which distillery it will be.
It is down the little side road along side Smoky Mountain knife works. Behind the lodge pan place. Part of the building is occupied by what looks like axe throwing the other end says distillery on the building.

Good video but it's a shame that they've allowed Gatlinburg and , to a lesser extent, pigeon forge to be ruined. Since you're wearing a rays hat maybe you'll notice that both towns now look just like the areas around Disney in Kissimmee, FL. The traffic on both towns is insane and, with a new exit coming to pigeon forge, it's only going to get worse. Anyway, your content does exactly what you intend for it to do and it's really well put together
We did. We could have drove down the road to make a video about it this AM but would have added no value by doing so. I know theme parks are not big fans of highlighting accidents and would prefer to respect that.
It’s sad to me - in time my sweet town - will become just as over crowed as both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge - the way their trying to become like the other towns here - terrible - Sad
@AdventureIsOutThere yeh, but nobody can enjoy it when the area is overcrowded, this area is too big for its britches and will be its own worse enemy. I've already seen many complaints from visitors about overcrowding, no parking, etc. Those things will make the smart people look elsewhere for a relaxing vacation. We will get the leftovers.

We go often on the weekdays apart from car shows & holidays and typically don't have issues with crowds.

JAN-FEB is the slowest. Christmas-New Years is the busiest. Any other weekday when kids are in school and there is no car show is not bad!

We were just recently there at the end of September and we noticed the stairs to the water were blocked off by the old mill. Why is that?
They have determined it’s not safe so for liability protection put the sign up.

I looked the other day and am not sure exactly what you are referring to. Do you mean the distillery past Soaky Mountain on the right?

If you don’t eat at the old mill while there, you done messed up big time.
What's new is too many people, the most visited park in the country is just way overcrowded, parking is difficult and expensive, go somewhere else
