To those watching, first off, thank you. This is a passion project a team of about 12 people who did this in their free time over the course of about 8 months. We did our very best to make sure we made something fans of Cyberpunk, as well as, sci-fi in general would enjoy. We didn't have the best budget, but dammit we had a vision and we tried our hardest to achieve it! From, script, to costumes, to VFX, editing and the score (soundtrack) we made it all with out human hands! So whether you love this, or it isn't your cup of tea, grateful for you watching and we've love to hear your thoughts no matter what! Appreciate you being here chooms! ~Cam
I like the film very much! But the anti-AI sentiment you're promoting seems hypocritical given that the bullet time effect looks like it made use of After Effects' RotoBrush tool, which is AI powered. It has the signature edge wiggle that does not appear if more traditional rotoscope techniques are used. Given that the characters in Night City are often altering their biology with technology I think its thematically fitting to use machine-learning techniques to supplement your hard work. I think its fine to use the tools that help you get the work done efficiently. But any time you involve a computer in the filmmaking process, you run the risk of AI being involved. Things aren't always so black and white that "AI" is bad and "human" is good. We need more nuance in the discussion around the use of technology in filmmaking. While RotoBrush isn't Generative AI specifically, Adobe has been one of the least ethical companies lately when it comes to training their software on peoples work, and by using it, your film likely helped improve their AI model.
Man if a bunch of fans can put this much passion behind only 7 minutes. Studios should have no problem doing live action right with the amount of money they have.
