You're wrong here. In this particular case for V? This IS the least harmful way to go out. Choosing anything but suicide results in the deaths of dozens of others at the minimum, even in the "best" ending where you go on a one-man suicide mission. This ending with female V and in a relationship with Judy is the most efd up. Picture it, Judy already lost one friend to suicide and then the one good thing that came out of it, her relationship with V ends up the same way, just messed up. Her VA did a masterful job at the end there.
TBH I'm thinking about this ending. Even if you do suicide run alone, Alt Cunningham might be the end of humanity. She stated that Mikoshi is a soul prison, after destroying it, all of the prisoner will merge with her. Alt spent half a century beyond Black Wall, who knows what she has become and will become.
God, never did this ending but this ending makes more sense than you think, especially when it's explained by V themself. It just hits - with everyones reaction to V's suicide; Viktor being stoic as to not break down, Judy letting it all out to the point she herself can't handle it, Misty feeling sad but accepting because you went out your own way with no one to dictate your actions but yourself, and Panam.. jesus. Judy hurts to listen to, she's lost so much and you throughout the game was a pillar that kept her up, and to see our favorite techy breakdown like that to the point of not even finishing the message just hurts. Panam, sure people may think its a bit harsh, but its just who Panam is. She feels betrayed after all you've been through, and I doubt a girl like her would ever say something sad. This game is just.. wow, shame that it was a mess when it first released.
The body has to be in good enough condition to bring them back. V got lucky enough to get shot in a spot that didn’t do enough damage to his brain that the biochip brought him back with Johnny. But the suicide ending ontop of the damage the body was already taking from the biochip would’ve done too much for the chip to work its miracles. It’s like those videos of guys restoring rusty guns. You can also restore so much. And if it’s too far gone then it’ll never functions against
I need to stop myself from doing repeat playthroughs so I've been choosing this as an ending pretty regularly (whenever I've come back to the game I do 3 playthroughs, one per life path, I choose this on the 3rd), makes me feel like I've disappointed my friends/made them sad and that they need time to recover before they see me again
how much? jack shit. honestly Vik and Misty were the only one that actually gave a shit about you. Not too sure about Panam though, because there are speculations that she died, it's why Mitch was the one who called.
@@lem0nad3zPanama probably went off the deep end. You need to remember nobody knows your in coma in that end you literally just disappeared for 2 years.
@@lem0nad3z That ending takes place two years after this one does. Two years is a long time; most people would realistically have moved on by then, and those that don't would end up spiralling into self-destruction. It's not that V didn't mean anything to them, it's that they already lived through the grief and heartache we can see here. Losing their friend or SO may hurt for a while, but life moves on without V and eventually so must they. This ending is maybe a week after they realized V was dead. Maybe. It really depends on how long it took for someone who knew them to realize something was wrong with them, track their body down, and spread the word to their friends. They haven't had much time to process the loss, to get control of their emotions. In fact that's likely what these calls were supposed to be, if what Misty is saying to Vik is any indication.
@ you forgot that V single-handedly helped rescuing River’s nephew and help him with investigating the Mayor’s death. Them and Johnny helped pull Kerry out of depression and suicide, rejuvenating his career with Us Crack. Helped Panam recovering her car and merch, helped saving Saul’s life, helped getting the Panzer and helped saving the lives of the Aldecaldo clan. Helped Judy with her own venture. Literally with all of the companions, V put their life on the line. It’s the least they can do to not forget V the way they did.
@@lem0nad3z Moving on and forgetting someone is not the same. It's not like they said "oh never contact me again I donm't care about you anymore" (except Panam but thats in character for her) You can't just expect them to drop everything and go see you immediatley. Judy tells you to come hang out if your ever in the area, Kerry wants to talk but is in the middle of a concert. River is kinda just being a dick but thats normal for him
This is the only ending I've never done. I think you get the same calls if you die during the 'Don't Fear the Reaper' ending. This is the first time I saw the part with V and Johnny. My ending … ended up with people of night city, friends , even family.. in anger of me leaving from night city with not a single word being said or anything. Everyone was disappointed.. almost felt like I actually died. PanAms text messages reminded me of a girl I used to date. I would never text or call when I would go out.. essentially a bad BF. This brought me back to that world. One of the greatest games I’ve ever played.
Its meant to be an anti self harm PSA. You might hate it, but to other people it has helped them in some way. It is a very sad ending because it shows just how real it all is. And that is what it is trying to do, and it succeeds.
I really do like Viktors ending I was tearing up but I was legitimately crying when you wake up from the coma and call everyone only to find out they left you
this is the very first ending i got and it unironically made me not play the game for a few days just due to how both v and johnny interacted in the final cutscene its a powerful scene that can move a lot of people (and it should)
I dont go crazy about Judy but in this scene she trully shines with talent, it is so gutwrenching and intense her emotions, really good job with the character.
Keanu is one of the best actors ever, from Matrix to Armored Core. Also, i see this ending as some kind of of advise from CDPR: "Suicide is not bad, it's horrible. You end your pain but give it to others who care for you. There's always another way, but this is not the way".
It's interesting this is the only ending without an achievement or a reward for completing the game. It really is the worst ending, although that could be up for debate
I guess this ending was really just meant to be used as a message to hopefully reachout to people in need, cause man them voicemails all really hit and do a good job at showing how those actions effect the loved ones around you, even if you're not aware.
@bbmoney86 yeah the voicemails were really good at showing the different perspectives of the tragedy, weirdly enough it got me thinking about what impact we have on the people in our lives. Nice pfp too
i do believe is the canon ending because all your other endings are a massive let down and not really worth it because you save your life but at what cost ya know
Damn this hits hard, but I would never do that, yes, with Panam is incredible but hardbreaking. If I'm going to do this, I'll do it gun and blade at hand, taking Arasaka to hell with me.
The ending I will never take, even if it means I don't ever get to 100% At least in the Devil ending there may have been a chance for a cure some time in the future (if you take the Arasaka deal to be Soulkilled) The Tower ending I have not taken yet, but this playthrough I will get it. Quiet life has to be better than no life.
I went into this thinking it would be similar to Witcher 3 but somehow it hit even deeper than that masterpiece. Say what you will about the gameplay side of things; CDPR can tell one damn good story. Like… _my god_
Worst Ending ever, even if johnny gives the go ahead doesn't mean that's what he wanted. u basically betray him for what he done for u and just put it all to the garbage
I'd say don't fear the reaper is the best ending, V fulfilled his and Johnny's dream. V became a legend and johnny crippled arasaka once and for all, no one dies on V's behalf as well hell they even become the new owner of the afterlife. V wanted to become a legend, killing themselves after all that went down is realistically the worst ending in the game.

This is not the worst ending - this is the heaviest ending.
And some people, just cannot carry that weight...
The thing is, Johnny takes Vs body after death, so a friend lets another friend go to peace, and then continue the fighting all alone.
i believe he made sure to also shoot the biochip when shooting himself to make he and johnny both die
I think it was too damaged to bring back a dead body
None of this hits me too hard. Play the ending where you wake up from a coma. You see just how much you meant to everyone.
how much? jack shit. honestly Vik and Misty were the only one that actually gave a shit about you.
It's sad to think of how hard you fight all game to stay alive only to give up in the end. I can't help but feel bad for the people who find themselves at that crossroad in real life.
Literally the least amount of collateral damage in any ending. Unless there is one with only one death.
Mathematically speaking, the most amount of life is preserved through this ending.
Damn the Judy part hits hard.
It's that shudder in her voice after saying "but still, V" Shatters my heart every time I hear it.
Poor Judy
the only two people she let get close to her
both took the easy way out and let her down.
proving what she already knew about night-city
I hate this ending.
CDPR will make an alternative endings that everyone will love or hate just like Witcher 3
@@Nang-xn7nhI don't think so buddy the only 2 endings i like are nomad one and the sun
Its meant to be an anti self harm PSA. You might hate it, but to other people it has helped them in some way. It is a very sad ending because it shows just how real it all is. And that is what it is trying to do, and it succeeds.
No one would choose this ending other than he wanted to post a video about it.
@@Kaleb._ Is there a source for this? Like have CDPR said explicitly that's why it's there?
"Leaving this world is not as scary as it sounds"
I really do like Viktors ending I was tearing up but I was legitimately crying when you wake up from the coma and call everyone only to find out they left you
judy's call genuinely broke my heart. it hits way too hard
Seriously! I straight up ugly cried when I first heard her call.
this is the very first ending i got and it unironically made me not play the game for a few days just due to how both v and johnny interacted in the final cutscene
its a powerful scene that can move a lot of people (and it should)
Goddammit. I JUST stopped crying.
Well here we go again 😢
I dont go crazy about Judy but in this scene she trully shines with talent, it is so gutwrenching and intense her emotions, really good job with the character.
Keanu is one of the best actors ever, from Matrix to Armored Core.
Also, i see this ending as some kind of of advise from CDPR: "Suicide is not bad, it's horrible. You end your pain but give it to others who care for you. There's always another way, but this is not the way".
To be honest, I would kill to get a serie with actual Keanu retracing the exact story of Cyberpunk.
Nice pfp too
I did the PL ending to survive and DAMN almost cried in Johnny's goodbye
I hope Male V's voice actor gets more work in video games. i loved him in this roll and want more of him.
Its that E3 2018 cyberpunk 2077 male V
This ending just broke my heart... Everyone is aware that V just offed themselves.. And yet they still talk to V
Judy's VA is amazing damn
i do believe is the canon ending because all your other endings are a massive let down and not really worth it because you save your life but at what cost ya know
Don't fear the Reaper.
I need this V formula stat, choomba
Damn this hits hard, but I would never do that, yes, with Panam is incredible but hardbreaking. If I'm going to do this, I'll do it gun and blade at hand, taking Arasaka to hell with me.
And mfs really try and say that male V didn't give as good of a performance as fem V. Hell, they try to say his performance wasn't any good at all
Of course this is the first thing to pop up in my fyp…
It is the end of The World as we know it...
... and I feel fine.
The ending I will never take, even if it means I don't ever get to 100%
At least in the Devil ending there may have been a chance for a cure some time in the future (if you take the Arasaka deal to be Soulkilled)
The Tower ending I have not taken yet, but this playthrough I will get it. Quiet life has to be better than no life.
Not sure about acting. But definitely good writing ✍️.. Cyberpunk 2077 had a great staff on this whole game
I went into this thinking it would be similar to Witcher 3 but somehow it hit even deeper than that masterpiece. Say what you will about the gameplay side of things; CDPR can tell one damn good story. Like… _my god_
I have over 1000 hours playing this game and I still cry every playthrough. 😭
Worst Ending ever, even if johnny gives the go ahead doesn't mean that's what he wanted. u basically betray him for what he done for u and just put it all to the garbage
this game absolutely destroyed me
I fucking hate this ending so much
Why are young Keanu and old Keanu considering suicede?
Is the 3rd person a new update thing? Or is that a mod?
No, it been there since the beginning. It only happens once in each ending.
why does your V look like a younger keanu reeves
Damnit I just got over the kirito shit for Christmas now this
There are no “good” endings to this game
Each is terrible in their own way
This one is the most realistically reasonable one though
i disagree, theres only one good one and that's the aldecaldo ending, its the only way to end the game with everyone more or less happy.
@@Stigums I'd say is comparable to euthanasia in advanced stages of cancer
I'd say don't fear the reaper is the best ending, V fulfilled his and Johnny's dream. V became a legend and johnny crippled arasaka once and for all, no one dies on V's behalf as well hell they even become the new owner of the afterlife. V wanted to become a legend, killing themselves after all that went down is realistically the worst ending in the game.
@chrishansen7004 the issue is that all the characters stay in night city and are all visibly unhappy
on my first playtrought i got this ending and i didnt understood wth was happening
How? It’s pretty obvious after the first ten seconds.
If Witcher 4 has a bumby launch, I'm sure CDPR will arrange another really overrated anime about it in order to turn people's opinions around.
Finally someone giving Male V some love haha
Only ignorant with this title never played any other game than gta, tw3 and cp77.
TT's TWD, MGS2, Fallout NV, RDR, Mass Effect trilogy, DA Origins, WD...
Almost like if they had real actors and screenwriters working on the game, right? 😉
5:37 I don't think I like Panam anymore...
She’s like this in pretty much every ending except the one totally devoted to her. I have no idea why people like her
Worst ending
Selling your souls to arasaka is worse
Kills me that they opted for all the 1st person conversation scenes when we could have had ton of beautiful scenes like this. They rushed through the first person after changing it at the last minute and it wasn't worth it.
Somehow this felt like the best possible ending for everyone involved
Play this scene with female V. You will find that conversations become much more dramatic and you will feel much sadder in the end...
Wrong. Female v shows way too much emotion all the time. But when male v is sad ACTUALLY sad it really hits
@@Luxan-yf4rvNeither of you are wrong, tbh. Your viewings of the vocal performances are entirely subjective. For whatever reason in games like this fans feel the need to tear down one performance to uplift another.
@@Vargon9 I mean they said "you would feel much sadder in the end" that's literally wrong. It didn't happen to me. Sooo yeah.
@Luxan-yf4rv And you also said that Female V shows too much emotion, which I never really got the impression of myself. Him saying you "will" feel these things is a bit silly, lol, but it is something that's going to be true for some people. Just like how your viewing of Fem V's performance is going to be true for some others, too. Like I said, it's entirely subjective.
@Vargon9 yeah but technically what I called wrong. Is wrong. But the other stuff is subjective yes. But yknow I thought most people would agree with me on that because I ain't the first to say that.
This is a bad ending, idc about your “I see it this way, I see it that way” this route, the easy route, it’s for cowards, just like real life you end up hurting everybody that once surrrounded you.
Male and Female Vs actors are awful. I said what i said. Male Vs voice actor sounded better in the reveal CG trailer so whoever gave him the direction to Batman it up was dumb. Female V sounds forcefully "cool".
In your opinion...
Which is wrong.
@ 😂 in my opinion which is subjective 😂 oh no did I hurt your feewings?
@@Calypso694 Hardly. You did however, make yourself look like an idiot with this ridiculous statement about the voice actors, which no one who actually loves the game would agree with... and that's not an opinion it's a fact.
@@DanAltieri no bud that’s still an opinion nice try though 👍
@Calypso694 And there you are being wrong. Again. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not with the Male V voice. Dude sounds like some tryhard action hero even when he's supposed to be vulnerable.
For me the best ending is "the sun" for jhonny, for V, for Jackie 🗿
Am i the only person who actually hates this game. Bought it day 1 and was sold a broken piece of shit and no matter how much they fix it the gameplay is still horrible
