    Cradleboards should make a comeback👍. I wonder what she'll think when she looks back at these vids. Thanks for sharing.

      They definitely havent gone anywhere in my family and my community! Just yesterday I seen a few other cradleboards at a basketball game! My cousins live in other locations too where they have beautiful cradleboard styles slightly different from ours. My grandma said theres a way to have the board with straps to fit behind the back, I havent seen that done anywhere in awhile in my community. We love our babies! Thanks for watching again :)

    This was a very awesome video I enjoyed it and learned a couple things. First I didn't know that Hawaiians did cradle boards. Second the shade thing makes sense about having it there for individual dreams and thoughts for the child for which it was made. Interesting.

    Thank you for sharing❤️ I'm sami and love your native spirit😎 We have something similar in our culture, but made for colder climate. It's called "gietka" in north sami or "komse" in norwegian. Made out of pinewood with birch "shade" coverd by reindeer/caribou hide. I was researching our gietka when I desided to check out other indigenous peoples cribs. I'm glad i did 😊

    Hi, I find this Hupe / Cradleboard very practical. The one thing I find little critical is, when the baby is packed inside, also it´s arms are bounded under the blaket and it no more can move. On the one side it is secured, on the other side it doesn´t more maybe for long time and the arm´s musckles cannot grow. How do you think about my arguments?

    Hello!i am from grrece and i study nursery teacher and i have one research for the transportation of babies in different civilizations .is it still use for transportation or swing?👶💗

    • @OnNDNtime
      @OnNDNtime  3 роки тому +2

      I know back then a sling of some sort was used to carry the baby on your back but that's not too popular anymore. Today it is moreso used to comfort the baby and convenience for when they fall asleep (keep them undisturbed and on their backs).
