The sound I used for "Rain" was created after this video. It's the quacking bass at the end of each bar. The main bass also comes from this instrument, but from the PLG150-AN board.

Hi JayB. I bought just s80 and want to upgrade to EXTV 1.61. The manual is written "S80 must be connected to a computer via MIDI in order to perform this procedure." What kind of cable (wire) use ?? How to connect the S80 to a computer to update the software? Sorry for styling (google translator). Thanks for the answer. Regards
I used to have have an s80 but got rid of it. This makes me miss it. Do you know did yamaha ever fix the arp sync bug that had the arp playing a 32nd note too fast?
BRIAN Balducci There has been a firmware update that fixed the arp delay bug. Never had problems syncing the arp since then. Link's on my page as well.
very nice sound design. does the S80 have specific piano waves to give the pianos a more acoustic tone/AW2 type sound? I'm trying to copy some of your patches on my FS1R or at least the layers minus piano. can't make an acoustic piano on pure fm

I wouls sugget you to download SysexLibrarian. Set-up the midi-out port in the l iste box. Drag and drop the sysex file from yourf finder to the Sysex Librarian. And launch the transfer..
I'm afraid they aren't. To be honest, I know nothing about the S03. This popped up on my screen out of nowhere a couple of years ago. Never saw this on an exhibition or a music shop. I wonder if it was available in Germany at all.

The CS6x / S80 sound set is unfortunately discontinued. I sold my S80 four years ago. However, the AN1x is still here, but at the moment I don't feel the need for new sounds. Not too much going on in the Trance scene right now.

It is still used in 2021 ! I use the CS6R, really really good, and not only for one style.

Are you created only for the synthesis of s80 (AWM2)?
No use of PLG150-AN here. Only AWM2 synthesis. I've got another sound set for the PLG board. See other vid in my channel for that.

You can try converting them 1:1, however the filter settings are a bit different. And of course the waveforms have different numbers.

+Pawel Sobieski A USB-MIDI-Interface is a good choice. Roland has a nice one in stock that's not too expensive. But don't take the 10$ no-name one.

I don't know how similar the two engines are, but there is a chance you could reprogram these sounds 1:1 on the EX5 if you look at the S80 editor.

Not directly via SysEx. You have to use the editor to copy the sounds to the INT bank.
