Costa Rica is the closest place to paradise on earth!
My trip to Costa Rica last year was, hands down, the most amazing vacation I’ve ever been on. I can’t wait to go back!
👍🏽 it’s a very special place
@@AlexanderAyling It sure is! We also stayed at the Tabacón Resort and it was nothing short of magical. Zip-lining in La Fortuna was another highlight of our trip...I highly recommend it! Thanks for posting your video...it brought back great memories of my trip 😊
Costa Rica is incredible! Definitly one of my favorite trips of all times! The Caribbean coast is a must go, as well as the rest of the country! Anyone than can go and spend two or three days in Tortoguero and Cahuita, each, should definitly go! Loved it so much
Thanks for sharing Inês! My next trip to CR is definitely going to include the Caribbean side!
@@AlexanderAylingCaribbean of Costa Rica has another flavor.. you have to try Rice and Beans, which is Caribbean version of Casado
Pura Vida 🤙🏼
Man, I've been dreaming about going there ever since your previous Costa Rica video. This "itinerary" format is very helpful. I wouldn't mind more videos like this in the future. Keep being awesome, Alex and Carrie!
Much appreciate Chris! Which destination would you like next?
@@AlexanderAyling You honestly can't go wrong with any destination, but I'd have to choose New Zealand. I think you've seen enough of it to put together a mind-blowing itinerary for people like me who have never been 🤗
Sounds good Chris!
@@AlexanderAyling well now I feel like you're moving there just for me, hahaha! So stoked for you and Carrie.
I love Costa Rica! From the surfing to the waterfall hikes!
This video is INCREDIBLE! Dreaming of going back!!!
Yes please! Can we just soak in the hot springs forever 😂
Qué bueno que les gusta tanto mi país. A mi me falta muuuucho por conocerlo.
Carmen Calderon Del Valle nosotros tambien!! Hay que volver pronto!

Great video- very knowledgeable!
Just wanted to say this was the top video we used in planning our trip. We had a great time during our 5 weeks. Lots of videos to post now!
Super helpful for mapping out key areas to visit throughout the country. I appreciate you mentioning areas you feel you could spend the entire trip if need be. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it Amber- hope you subscribe and check out my other videos!
Really useful info, thanks!
Thank you for sharing! Look’s like an amazing place to visit. Can’t wait to go someday!
This is a great video to explain every little thing I needed to know in detail esp about renting the car, thank you so much for making this 💗
The Guanacasta province is beautiful. I fell in love with the Pura Vida vibe. We stayed in Playa Negra for 3weeks at an Air BNB. Amazing surf and beaches... And the sunsets 🌅. You are spot on with all of the great tips. 💯%
Can't wait to travel again and explore new places.
❤️🇨🇦
Yes!! Playa Negra is so chill. Love that spot
I haven't even finished watching your video but I can't thank you enough I booked airfare then realized I didn't have a solid plan just knew of Jaco but didn't want to stay there my full 7 days I can tell I'm going to follow some of your recommendations thank you so much!
Costa Rica is absolutely amazing. I remember my trip fondly. The weather, the food, the welcoming people, the nature, the wildlife... Also a very peaceful country (I believe is the only one in the world without an army?)
You are correct!! One of the few countries that chooses not to have a standing army. Hope you enjoy the video. Let me know which place you like the most. Pura Vida 🤙🏼
the food??? After 5 days I couldnt eat anymore Casado and Pinto. I think it isnt even good.... haha food isnt a reason to travel to costa rica
@@lucasp.9684 well they have variety and even customized dishes. You just have to ask for it.
@@danielgarita6462 Nah I tried many things but I dont like their food. I loved Costa Rica, but the food?? Nah. Im italian and I love good food and this wasnt it
@@lucasp.9684 well I now understand a bit better. You are most likely used to Italian culinary standards and it is true that Costa Rican food isn’t such a great thing. However, it is not exactly bad for most of people, but yeah I agree it isn’t good either.
You basically did my 14 day trip reversed, I really enjoyed the cabins nestled in the trees and interacting with the animals there was a reserve that did re release and animal conservation that i going in had zero clue on but was quite the experience. Im a pet and critter kinda guy but it was amazing to see toucans rehabbed from the wild and other floral and fauna.
If you go to Costa Rica, visit limón, puerto viejo, and MANZANILLA!!
I really love your video! We will definitely use your itinerary as a guide on our trip!! We are so excited! 🤩
I really enjoyed this video! We stayed near Arenal Volcano at the famous Tabacon resort for 4 days and flew a scenic flight to quepos and stayed at Makanda by the Sea near Manuel Antonio. It was the best mix of relaxing and adventure for our honeymoon. We loved it so much we’re celebrating our two year anniversary there! I’m so excited to go back to this beautiful country!!
That sounds amazing! I’m looking to do something similar in the near future, could you post your Itinerary?!
Very, very well done. Heading to Costa Rica September to October, 2021. I think I will watch it again!
I remember discovering that waterfall in Vergel in 1992 just by hiking the puntamala River up. What a magical moment. Nowadays you can just drive up to it.
"you'll fly from the USA for 3-6 hours" me, flying from switzerland, for 13h 🤡
Me, move from Rome to live in US NY to have been able to go in CR ahahah😅
This gave some really great tips/ideas! I love the idea of staying in a beach apartment, seemed really cozy!
Thanks Kaylee! The Surf Inn is so nice!
Nice video! This itinerary is just perfect! I feel proud to call Costa Rica, my home! :)
Wow, have never been to Costa Rica, but ready to go after this video! Great tips!
Dope, really like your in-depth and straight-to-the-point style
Thanks Blake 🤙🏼
You help me every time I travel. Thank you !!
Beautiful scenery! Thank you very much!
Magnifient vidéo. Soooo dying to go back. Gracias !
I agree with the San Jose and Jaco comments from Alex. Head to the less crowded beaches. I can't wait to go back after COVID. Pura Vida!
Great video, as a Costa Rican it is great to see the love you have for my country. As an avid hiker, my experiences of the Costa Rican countryside and mountains are great, you can find small towns, forests, agricultural fields and life, great food and coffee and architectural heritage in relatively short distances. San José downtown has lost most of its heritage since the 50s, and was previously a very attractive city, however there are areas, like the axis from Barrio Escalante down Barrio Aranjuez, Barrio Otoya and Barrio Amón, the area around the Paseo de las Damas and Nacional, España and Morazán parks, and from Nacional park to the Supreme Court and the northern part of Barrio Luján which still have beautiful architecture. I have been to Bahía Drake, but haven't been able to visit Puerto Jiménez. I can say that Bahía Drake is paradise: the hike from that to San Josecito beach is amazing and it is a great base for guided tours to visit Caño Island and sectors of Corcovado National Park as San Pedrillo and Sirena, where you can spot a lot wildlife very easily. For me, the most scenic way to arrive at Bahía Drake is arriving to Sierpe (which allows to see the 1930-1940s architecture of Palmar Sur and visiting the World Heritage Site of the Diquís culture at Finca 6) and going on a boat from there to Drake. The boat ride back from Bahía Drake to Sierpe was just after sunrise and the light was more than ideal for photography in the Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland, the biggest in the country (even more than Tortuguero or Palo Verde).
Thank you for sharing your local tips Esteban! Quiero regresar a Costa Rica ya! Es invierno aqui en Nueva Zealandia y hace frio!
@@AlexanderAyling ¡Con mucho gusto, Alex! Espero que pronto puedas, más que los procesos de vacunación avanzan bastante. Estamos en medio de una estación lluviosa un poco desigual: hay días sumamente lluviosos y luego otros súper secos. Espero puedas seguir visitando y conociendo lugares nuevos.
Gracias Esteban! Quédate cerca de tu paraguas jaja
Thank you for sharing!
Gracias por tus vídeos mostrando las bellezas de mi país!
De nada!! Hecho de menos Costa Rica
Been 3 times. Just got back from another month. Man, these vlogs are well done. Sick job.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Excellent informative video! Thank you.
Awsome movie Alex - great job, thank you :))
Costa Rica is a fabulous destination,. It’s very diverse so it’s best to travel around as much as possible.
I really loved the blog, my wife and I got married in Dominical. We have been at all different places in Costa and domincal was our favorite. It’s a great small town with good waves. I surfed every day by myself. Also great restaurants and not a bunch of people. 👍🏻🏄♂️🤙
Dude.....breathtaking video. You’ve done this country justice. My mom is from there and I have spent a lot of time there. Time to go back....home. (One thing, in Spanish, the “h” is basically silent). Keep up the excellent work!!! 💓
And you even make Gallo pinto?!?! Be still my heart. That’s too cute. My husband is a chef. I need to teach him how to make it too!! I can’t wait to take him to CR And go to a Mc Donald’s for the McPinto. Always makes me laugh.
I'm costa rican and I know my country is more expensive than other countries of the area but I promise you won't regret. Try not to go to San Jose, but if you want, don't spend more than one day there. Enjoy my beautiful Costa Rica! Thank Alex!!
Couldn’t agree with you more Roberto!! Still my favorite country in Latin America
I'm from costa rica, and I love to find these videos talking good about our beautiful country :DD
Yeah cause y’all are mostly known for prostitution.
Love and miss my beautiful Country, great video.
Thank you Marjorie! I miss your beautiful country too. Pura Vida 🤙🏼
Hi Alex! Love the video! I would love to visit Costa Rica, all Central America really, thank you for the video, really good. Cheers from Brazil 😃
Muito obrigado Glenda! I met a lot of Brazilians when I was at Pavones, they like to surf :)

Wow. So nice to dream of things like this to escape from this stupid Covid. Great vid!
I’m from Costa Rica and me and my girlfriend always enjoy your videos!
I would’ve love you to cover more from Guanacaste and Limon. For us that’s where the most beautiful beaches are!
PURA VIDA 🇨🇷
Pura Vida Pablo! I need to come back and explore Guanacaste more and visit Limon. Next time for sure. How are things in CR?
AlexTheVagabond you are no going to regret it 👊🏻 and the weather is crazy as usual haha, right now is full sunshine but maybe in a couple of hours it will be pouring rain, COVID wise speaking... we are not doing great, but is not critical. Thanks for asking and keep up the good work!
Guanacaste ❤️❤️ and Limon if you like central and south pacific your mind is going to blow when you see those plases
Hey Pablo, I'm interesting in visiting Costa Rica after the epidemic. Do you recommend any other must see locations or fun things to do? Thanks!
Pablo Jimenez my mom is from Costa Rica. I lived there for a little growing up and spent every summer there. I LOVE Guanacaste. Flamingo is one of my favorite beaches...Conchal too. What a gorgeous place to be from.
I wish more travel videos were so helpful. Subscribed!
Cheers Emily! Thank you. Many more to see on my channel 🙏🏼
I love the extra details .
Well done! The only exception that I would have is characterizing the Osa Peninsula as having some sketchy people. I have been to almost every town in Costa Rica, and have lived in Heredia (next to San Jose) as well as near Puerto Jimenez, and I can say with confidence that the Osa Peninsula is one of the least sketchy places in Costa Rica. If you want to see sketchy, go to the Caribbean side or hang out in Tamarindo, Jaco or San Jose after dark.
Great videos! Very helpful, thanks!
Thanks Iria 🙏🏼
Thanks, great video!
Great vid buddy !
Thanks Mike! New video just got published, check it out!
Great video and narration Alex.

Alex, great footage and insightful video! Travel is what excites me most, and what motivates me on my financial journey. The natural beauty of Costa Rica really seems amazing (provided you stay off Isle Nublar), and it looks like you made the most of your trip! It's always fun finding fellow UA-camrs with a passion for travel. very beautiful, thanks for the video
My pleasure. Thanks for watching
Awesome thank you Mr. Alex Vagabound I visited Costa Rica summer of 2019 for a week in Guanacasta province it was nice definately a good place
we're headed there in a week! We are super excited as its our first time. not driving, were just staying at a resort in playa, Guanacaste province for 7 nights, as we aren't yet familiar with the country. if we love it well drive next time! thanks for the video!
I am in a similar position. Can you tell me where you stayed and how it went? I have some travel credits to use up with Southwest Vacations. Most of the hotel options are either an airport hotel or all inclusive in Guanacaste. Never been to Costa Rica so I am not sure what to do. We can extend the trip a bit and stay somewhere not on the list, I am sure. Just trying to learn.
amazing
nice and very relatable

I've backpacked Costa Rica a few times for a month or so at a time and my personal favorite on Pacific side is Santa Teresa which is a surf town where cars are not allowed so you get around via scooter or ATV. On the Caribbean side I'd suggest Puerto Viejo. Pura Vida 🤙
Thanks for sharing Danny! I need to get over and explore more of the Caribbean side
