Donald Duck became another comedic influence of mine. And then at the age of 9 when this show came out, Red Forman became my third comedic influence, beating Squidward Tentacles to the punch by at least a year. Red also shared some striking parallels with my late grandfather, although I never heard him cuss a day in my life and he (like Red) was also in the Navy during the Korean War.

As a kid I saw Red as an asshole who probably faked his way through the war. Now as an adult, I can relate to him.

Red Forman and Mr. Peanut butter are two sides of the same coin: life goes on, there’s nothing you can do about it, so distract yourself, and you’ll eventually die.

That deadpan delivery is what kills it! No drama-queen, "poor me", 🐂💩, just the words of a man who has accepted the World as it is. Not what he thinks it should be.
That's what makes Red a Man! This is why as young men age, they mature and realize they are more like Red than they are the teens. As I'm now in my mid-50's, _I AM Red Foreman,_ and I wouldn't change that for any reason.
