I wish we'd had more scenes like this. Would have been great to see this Kitty taking Eric to task but lovingly in season 7 for his lack of direction

What I love is if Kitty asked Hyde to go shopping with her and to see a movie, he would 100% agree. He might’ve ragged on Eric, but Kitty is very much his mom too!

I would go too. She's a funny and sweet woman, we would have a blast. I take my 82 year old grandmother out twice a month and we always have a great time.

Debra Jo & Topher had a special, rare onscreen chemistry, and we don't talk about that enough. Her teasing him in the car and them smiling at each other is unbelievably cute. And they truly do seem similar in some ways.
So Red actually does have a range of emotions, not always angry.

Annoyance- whenever Kelso opened his mouth or there were two or more of Eric’s friends in the kitchen besides Hyde
Irritation- whenever Eric couldn’t do something ‘manly’ or ‘mature’ in his eyes/ forgets a chore
Anger- usually about his personal principles, or the kids being dope heads
Furious- catching them smoking in the house, Eric sneaking out after being grounded, finding out his daughter is marrying Fez
He has a soft spot for kitty Eric and Hyde. Everyone else even Laurie (who never earned his respect) can bug off for all he cares.
I love how much Kitty loves Eric, the fact that she got emotional just by him spending the evening with her, a proper mom and son relationship
All jokes aside, nobody does love you like your mom. If you have a mom who loves you and you don't cherish her, you're making a huge mistake.

This shows that Eric is the perfect combination of Red and Kitty. He has this fun lovable side Kitty has and that little bit of cynicism and quick wit from his father. He is outgoing and intelligent but also a bit silly and an introvert. Very well written character.
Hyde was the loving kid that Red and Kitty wanted and needed, he really pulled the family together.

Its important to spend time with your mom, especially if she loves you. Im 35 and my dad passed away a few years ago and I always try to make time for her, few weeks ago we had sushi together, last Saturday I took her to the poppy festival and we had lunch and maybe too many glasses of wine, it was fun and was happy that she enjoyed herself. She was never the same after my dad passed and I try my best to make sure she's happy and not alone. You only have 1 mom, and if she loves you, make it count.

Kitty was one of the best characters on that show. I was their ages in the late 70's, so I can relate to what they did. Kitty kind of reminds me of my own mother!

I loved this episode! I have 2 sons now and the oldest is a teen. We enjoy talking about many common interests: athletics, movies, even video games! I feel really blessed that we can still connect and goof around. Kitty and Eric’s relationship was always sweet to watch on screen. I am very glad to have a similar situation with my kids. It isn’t always perfect, but it is very special. It does take work but it’s very worth it. One of the best parts of that 70s Show it’s that it did not shy away from the reality of parents actually PARENTING their teens, regardless of the circumstances or crazy situations they got into. Red and Kitty did love their kids and worked very hard to provide for them.
Imagine being a guy stopping to yell at a son and his mother in a public restaurant for having a balanced relationship. Lol

I remember that episode. When Kitty found out about the engagement ring I believe. Bob got the same jacket too. That was funny.
and when Red makes Hyde wear that sweater Kitty made him for his birthday, the blue one. That was a great one too.

I try to go to the movie theaters once a month with my mom and dad to watch a random movie (I am in my mid 20s) and I think it is fun hanging with them as an adult bc I get to see them as not only my parents but also like people.

Just here to reminisce, my mother passed away 7 years ago. To this day I miss her terribly......."no-one loves you like your mom" This broke me.

I love this show much more than Friends and the other friends type sitcoms because it had soul, style, originality, good slapstick and characters were just absurd enough to be lovable and funny. Apart from all the episodes with Randy all of them were very enjoyable. I think it is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time with Seinfeld.

The family might have some disfunction but I love their dynamics. Especially how much Red really loves Kitty, she is one of the few who is allowed to express her frustrations to him and he actually cares. And I think Eric needed that time to get to know more about his mom than to limit her as just his mom yet welcome the fact that she too is a human being. Hyde might be sarcastic in nearly any conversation he has, but even he appreciates how much the Forman’s stepped in to help him.
Kitty meanwhile is just the glue to the whole family, and it’s so sweet how much she gets to be looked after when she does a lot for everyone.
I don't understand why that guy thought Eric out with his mom was a joke. Hanging out with mom is a treasure.
