Wow I am blown away by the simplicity and beauty of this way of life. My family and I are slowly moving toward a life like this. We plan on purchasing around 10 acres in the next year or two!
Yeah, she's actually pulling harder than I like in this video. I've since put her in the furrow (right side, looking from behind), and she's much happier now. I think she felt claustrophobic being in the middle. They pull much more evenly now.
Had not included donkeys when thinking of draft animals. I believed they were only bred to be pets now, not strong enough for working. Wow. Ok, scratch those giant horses off my list...donkeys eat less!
Donkeys do not necessarily need grain, however I spoil mine with some sweet feed. They are perhaps the most maintenance free of the hooves animals. They live longer and are relatively healthy.
it's homemade. I have some notes on my blog for people wanting to make their own. anarchyacres.blogspot.com/2020/11/walking-plow-for-miniature-donkeys.html

Bravooooo sănătate maximă și succese în viața de toate zilele.
What a sweet gentle hand this man has with his donkeys. You can see they love him and their work.
Now that's a fine example if appropriate technology. Size the traction power to the land holding.

The middle donkey is the only one actually pulling, the ones on the sides are just walking around 😂

What breed of donkeys are they?
I think you would say these are Sicilian, but I’m not really sure. They are a large mini donkeys.
Where do you get your harnesses for the dimkeys?
I make the collars myself and use whatever harness parts I can find or make.
