Ahh the memories!! My late dad had 3 of these for cabbing in the 80’s and 90’s. He bought an 89 f reg and we drove to Clacton for a day out, he got over 500,000 miles in all of them. Bulletproof.
My dad had an E reg zx turbo red with a rubber boot spoiler. Back then, i never knew what a zx turbo was, but i knew it was special because of the twin exhausts.
That’s a lovely car you have there. Back in 1991, I bought an 89 GS in a sort of metallic leaf green with light brown interior. It was the 5 door, 1.8, manual. Wish I still had it. Enjoy your for a long time.
My Grandfather had one in 1990. He purchased it from a family friend who had it from new in 1987 on a D plate.... Great Cars and seriously under rated even in their day against GTi's. Great car,,, Good to see.
The passion and nostalgia is palpable and it's fabulous to see you share childhood memories that resonate with us all. My Dad has a Cavalier and Roopa Panesars Mum had the Bluebird in red similar to yours. Naturally I loved the Vauxhall lol. Great days and a stunning restoration. Very well shot and edited too !
I had a Nissan Bluebird Diesel as company car.,remember those really harsh Uk winter's, my Nissan was only vehicle which started on my street absolute monster reliability
That is a absolute stunning looking bluebird you have there, not going make out that I know anything about them etc. but I do love the old retro Japanese cars, maybe IL see it at a car show next year if I get the chance to go any.👍🔥
Absolutely beautiful in red with that stance. I owned a D-plate Turbo SR (same thing as a ZX), and a red facelift saloon 1.8 GS (my first car). I'm definitely going to buy another Bluebird one day (maybe soon). Great video, quality camera work and editing and Kav's a natural presenter. Cheers!
Yes, when I started driving these were everywhere, and were probably 80% taxis. They were practically road wallpaper, but now they really appeal to me. Kind of a Japanese Ford Granada, big three-box saloon where other marques were getting aa lot curvier. Great looking machine.
Wow, such a nostalgic car. I used to own the non-turbo model. Just that the car was ruined by my close family which I could not revive it to good state and just letting it go for good.
Love it. I grew up with Nissan's my dad sold them at the time. Same engine as the Silvia turbo of course. Shame it isn't the executive model. I'm jealous
What a brilliant video and the nostalgia was so accurately expressed. Like so many, we also had a Bluebird when I was little. Although towards the end of its life, it was pushed far more than it drove lol. Wonderful memories. Thank you.
Super cool! There is this little old lady driving around town in her white on blue interior Nissan Stanza (as we called them in the US) XE in San Diego CA where I used to live. I enjoyed seeing it still on the road
Wow, I had the exact same car I traded it for a nearly new, Nissan Sylvia turbo the reg on that was F800 VVV. GREAT cars, both of them..miss them now and wish I still had them, both cars were red which was a great colour for them. Lovely car mate, probably the best in the UK.
Aww Kav that's lovely! I'm the same age as you and into Japanese cars. At the time I knew and loved the S12 Silvia and the Cherry Turbo but these passed me by, despite owning two RWD Bluebirds.
Love it. A good friend had a SGX in exactly the same colour D655ELA. He kept saying my girlfriend wants to drive it... And I was like don't do it ... A week later it was involved in an accident with her driving it and the car almost written off. We both rebuilt the front end and got the car back on the road. Such a strong design .... A great looking car too still love them ...the dash the steering wheel ... Thanks for reviving the memories.
Glad to see some Bluebird love. Had a 1.6 LX saloon as my first car and it'll always be a special memory, especially the way the dashboard lit up at night. These were once ubiquitous on UK roads, but haven't seen one in probably the last 15 years.
Jaaks bro, smashed it once again..down memory lane, what a car meri jaan and loving your t shirt 1974 what a awesome year when we were both born ❤ 50 years of joy for our parents, ALHUMDULLIAH. GOD bless.
Earlier this year I saw a blue bird in cream immaculate just like that I was too busy to take a picture hopefully I come across it again I love immaculate old car 🇱🇨🇲🇸🇬🇧
Love this, my father had an F Reg bluebird ZX Turbo in the same color back in the 90's. It was pretty quick when the turbo spins up. I rode really well.
I remember my late father owned a 1989 white Nissan Bluebird Executive 1.8 Turbo Saloon from new. An amazing car back then when I was a kid, brings memories amazing car.
Had a white bluebird zx turbo executive in the late 90's on a F reg i think. It belonged to a friend of mine and I swapped my E reg mk2 Golf for it. It had beige leathers, same wheels as the Silvia turbo, adjustable suspension from inside the car, K&N filter, blow off valve, stainless exhaust and some other bits......loved it! 💪🏽😍
Gosh this hits me so hard cause in the Trinidad and Tobago the B12 Sunny/Stanza *WAS* a big thing also the 810 Bluebird is *VERY* Popular in Japan/Philippines/New Zealand and Trinbaygo that's RWD of course we usually put the SR20det so seeing this NOT an SSS or ARX is nice ❤ from 🇹🇹🤜🏽🤛🏽
I had a Bluebird -90 in early 2000s. It got 105hp CA20E so 2 liter twinspark multipoint injection, so 2 sparkplugs per cylinder, total of 8. It was so good to drive... very comfort ride. But it was badly rusted and I haven't got the money to repair it so got another car. I still somehow miss it.
Love the box shape of the bluebird. A good mate had his dads… for 3 months. He span it in the ice and put it through the saw mill gates at longleat. That was also a turbo (diesel). Good days❤
I worked at a nissan dealership from 88-90, I remember these as a brand new car, I was so impressed with them,I bought a hatchback face-lifted one in the year 2004 absolutely loved it. Great video 👍
Man, that looks absolutely MINT mate! I don't remember seeing many THIS good back in the mid 90s when I was looking at getting one. I always liked that weird intake looking thing by the rear lights, it had some kinda cool and interesting design features for the time.
I love the bluebird my dad had a hand painted blue diesel one when all my friends had Volvo estates I learned to drive in it when I was 6 on the farm ❤❤❤
Yes I remember well when these came to the uk and they drove so well, don’t see them here in New Zealand which is a shame., fitted many windscreens in these back in the day.
I remember my brother having one of these in grey colour with a Blapunkt equaliser system and subwoofers in the back. Oh, and that smell of a vanilla forest tree airfreshner. 😂
Looks lovely , there was a two tone silver and dark blue hatch bluebird turbo where I live in Bournemouth that I stopped seeing about 2005 and haven’t seen one since
They have aged really well. That was just after Nissan took over the Datsun name. Even the base model GL had power steering and electric front windows. Great car back then. ❤
My late father bought a brand new one but I remember it having a sticker kit from Nissan along the bottom of the doors and it was ordered in two tone color way red over grey it was admired by many. He also had a 180b sss bluebird and a Mazda 929 estate for his cash and carry run. Great times
Nice! I was gonna get one of these as my first Hot Hatch, my mate had the Silvia Turbo so had me intetested. I ended up being a bit boring and going for a 1.8ltr Astra GTE as I much prefered it's looks and later got the GTE 16v (which was EPIC!)
A group of friends and I bought one of these and made it into drag car. In red, just like this. Awesome car, never missed a beat, even with all the stupid things we did to it. Great memories. Love the video.
I’ve been waiting for this video for a while now so glad you posted it. What an absolute minter and you restored it as well. Looks better than it would out the factory and you’ve kept it well Brother. Smashed it with the explanation of sitting in the back looking at the orange dash and listening to old tunes. Reminded me of myself 😃😃
Thats a cool car. Remember these. Its funny how the straight boxy lines look so cool. And that paint work looks really good.. .. I thought it had been lowered, Had a. Alpine cd player similar the one in the video in a golf vr6 I had about 15 years ago. .. Best sounding cd player I even had... 👍
I had a white executive one, leather interior. It had the zx Turbo. I had the boost turned up, and it had 180hp on the rolling road. It was very quick for its time.
Wow very well restored. My dad had one brand new D plate as well. Handed over to me when I 17 with only 30k+ miles on it. It was rated to 180bhp. I do miss it and watching this has bought back so many memories. Even the 4 spoke steering wheel felt special haha. Did prefer the indicators on the right hand side to. 2 other changes made was the grill painted to match the red body and a full custom stainless steel exhaust system from manifold.
I'm glad this got some memories going....the exhaust i have is from the turbo back...I've left the rest alone...you are correct in saying that you can squeeze more bhp from these with not alot of money :-)
Happy memorries, I used to polish it every weekend same red colour. Took it to Holand and it never let us down. I didn't know much about boosting these engines back in 1989 but if I had one today it would be a diffrent story. Paaji bahut badiya!!!
My dad had a bluebird LX, i learnt to drive in a fiesta but took my test in the bluebird as my instructor double booked me. Great car, electric sunroof too!
I turned 50 back in september, Iv'e been noticing loads of those 1974 t shirts popping up on my social media 🤣. I was more a Sierra man during this era, as my dad owned three of them in the 80s going into the 90s, but still loved these bluebirds. You have this one looking fantastic, the interior is beautiful. I also loved Cavaliers, had couple in the family between my dad and myself, becoming very rare now. And I know exactly what you mean about certain spec, options, lights and stuff, I still get triggered big time 🤣.
My friend and boss of a taxi company had one in Leeds Nissan blue bird Z X in black and silver logo on side skirts Z X TURBO in 1994 those were the days cars from Japan were imported for Uk market
We had an absolutely beautiful black nissan bluebird turbo zx, it was amazing. I just wish i had passed my driving test sooner so i couldve driven it before it was involved in a crash.. 😢
Loved it. My uncle had one, not a tubo but a bluebird, and I remember him driving to cricket games (he played) on the weekends in the summer. Good memories of these simple cars. My dad wouldn't touch a Japanese car, he was a German fan through and through!
The World War 2 generation didn't buy Japanese cars (or goods in general) because, I assume, of the treatment of British prisoners. It was actually quite controversial to buy Japanese.
Ahh the memories! I still regret getting rid of my U11 Turbo (badged just 1.8 Turbo). Like the clean looks of yours, but have to be honest and say it looks better with the spongy rear spoiler on the boot lid. I hope you can find one soon to complete this absolute beauty! Thanks for doing this little video, the 80s Nissans don't get enough love. And why we never got the SSX....????? Those pesky Japanese keep all the best for themselves! Cheers!
My dad used a Bluebird for a Taxi back in the day and put well over 300,000 miles on it. What a car and great video.
На таком железе мертвом вы только и можете ехать.
When I left school at 16 I went to work for AFG Nissan, my dad actually bought one of these in white with ZX Turbo logs down the sides, great car👌
Thank you
My first company car was a Bluebird Turbo. I was 19 and remember racing all over the country in it. It never let me down. Great car
Ahh not bad for a 19 year old! Fond memories I hope!
@kavbhamra4750 I didn't get my first company car till I was 44 years old. A tu4bo company car for racing in at 19 sounds like an amazing job.
Never forgot test driving one of these when they came out late “88 , great cars , quick back in that time def.
Ahh the memories!! My late dad had 3 of these for cabbing in the 80’s and 90’s. He bought an 89 f reg and we drove to Clacton for a day out, he got over 500,000 miles in all of them. Bulletproof.
My dad had a Bluebird. It had electric windows. That was amazing technology at the time! 🤣
Yeah the rev counter etc got me well excited when we had one!
Yeah we had a white one the executive version. Loves the car, was ahead of its time lol
@@adilpuk that must have had leather interior!
Best car we ever had. Was brillaint in every way.
Beautiful time machine
My dad had an E reg zx turbo red with a rubber boot spoiler. Back then, i never knew what a zx turbo was, but i knew it was special because of the twin exhausts.
There used to be a couple of these rocking around Wembley in the early 90's - lowered and sitting on Azev A rims. Great memories!
Reliving our youth… great words… great vid, thanks for doing… keep up the great work 😀
Thanks!
My Dad had a Nissan Sylvia 1.8 Turbo.. And she was at the time a beast very fun car to be driven in as a boy... The memorable year's of the 90s
That’s a lovely car you have there. Back in 1991, I bought an 89 GS in a sort of metallic leaf green with light brown interior. It was the 5 door, 1.8, manual. Wish I still had it. Enjoy your for a long time.
Yes the GS had power steering rev counter electric windows etc
I still have mine in very good condition and it's a red one. Very reliable.

I saw a Nissan Bluebird TRX advert in the late 1980's. It was the most beautiful car to me.
These look so much better than the USA spec STANZA that had huge bumpers and most came with hubcaps
I had a Nissan Bluebird Diesel as company car.,remember those really harsh Uk winter's, my Nissan was only vehicle which started on my street absolute monster reliability
All the Asians and Africans had these cars in London during the 80's. Awesome cars.
Brilliant video, brings back some awesome memories.
Lol true say!!
