Thanks Peter! Good, solid, inspirational tips. I do 3 of 5. About prints: I stopped printing photos myself. Although there are many good printers you can buy, I got fed up with the hassle of keeping the right quality of paper and the right size in stock, and the same goes for ink supplies. And then I haven’t even mentioned getting the actual printouts looking good. So I started asking myself if I really want to spend time and money on being a good printer or a good photographer? instead , I do have my best photos printed by a professional service (Crimson in Stockholm). Great service and very convenient. Two other tips: make one photo book per year with your best photos of the year. There are many good on demand photo book services out there. Then put the book as a coffee table book in your living room or office. And finally, I occasionally give friends and relatives a professionally printed and framed photo as a gift, for example as an anniversary present or the like. Very appreciated
A couple of months ago, I set myself a challenge to post 1 photo a day (using instagram/threads) - only partly to see what people think, but mainly to 'trick' myself to keep taking photos during the winter months as I have a bad habit of just not taking the camera out when the weather is bad!
About hints what to do. I write photography diary. Like what I learned today. What ideas I had today etc. For example yesterday I tried polarizer filter. Rather basic thing but I wrote about that in my diary. Why do diary? To reflect your skills, mark down good locations and whatever you want. Perhaps write note about tjis overly long comment. You choose.
Hi Peter, I would like to see you do a review of the printer and your thoughts on the quality of the prints, the cost of paper and ink, how it handles color vs. black and white and other useful pros and cons. Thanks!
Great advice, Peter! I do print images, in a specific context: Every year, I put together a calendar of photos from a beach/barrier island that all my friends and family are familiar with. We share a sense of wonder about this beautiful and diverse environment, which I strive to capture in 14 photos every year. It motivates me to get out and make the photos, and to edit them for display. This year, I also had a book printed (one copy, just for me) of my favorite photos from walks in the woods over the last 12 months, done up in an antique sepia style. Putting it together helped me to focus on a particular point of view and emotional state that I experience in the woods and wanted to convey. I was reminded of the experience of seeing my writing in college writing journals. The audience is tiny, but there's something about being in print that helps to see the plus and minus in your work. As always, I'm grateful for your insights into the creative process.
Hi Peter, interesting video with lots ideas. Lately I started to print some pictures, and the most I like I hang on the wall, and even I already know I don't have any chance I start to apply to some photography competition. And yes please make a video about the little canon camera, It is on my radar for quite a long time, your opinion will be helpful.
Thanks for this helpful video, Peter! I make greeting cards and send them to friends for various occasions, and I try to keep track of which cards I've already sent to which friends (but don't always remember to do this). Sometimes I personalize the cards with messages on the front like "Happy Birthday, Joanne!" I enjoy choosing the best paper for each card. Here in the States, I can get letter format paper (8.5x11 inches) and make two cards on each sheet. I use an inexpensive paper cutter with a scorer to make a sharp fold. Envelopes are available at office supply stores. A2 invitation size. I buy paper from Red River Papers; they have a huge variety and can send you a sampler pack. I print on an Epson XP 15000, which, unfortunately sometimes damages the paper and causes waste.
I wonder if foto app will be better than Vero app. I actually think it might be. Provided they won't mess up launch. At least foto doesn't have other medias in the mix. Rather quiet place currently, due being in beta.
It is still in beta and you are right not that active. I think they are into something, it is very promising for photographers. It only about photography. They also have a good roadmap for the future.
I would like you to make a video about your printer. Been thinking about one of these small ones. Used to have a big Epson, but it dried up and became unusable. Ask at your local library is a good tip. I did it once and they were very happy to help out.
@@ForsgardPeter I have to print something every week or so just to keep it working. My walls and closets are pretty full!! I will print some Fall Color shots pretty soon. I like to hold up a new print on Facebook every once in a while to sell some. I have some clients for restorations and that kind of thing.
Thanks Peter!

The idea of a photobook at least once a yera is a good one!
I make photobooks and leave them in the common area for guests to enjoy.

A great but a challenging project! Good luck and hope you succeed keeping that up!

I will think about a video about the printer.
@@ForsgardPeter thanks
Print images? Yes. I make digital negatives and print them using historic processes.

Great way to use your photos.
