Hi Stephen!! I recently found your channel and wanted to let you know that I think you are a brave, strong, handsome, intelligent young man! I have a niece who is diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Watching your videos has helped me to put some things into perspective so, THANK YOU for that ! I wish you nothing but the very best in your journey to living a happy and fulfilling life. Your Dad is so proud of you, it’s written all over his face. It really is a beautiful thing to witness. You have a wonderful support system. I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason and as much as this channel helps you, I believe your message of strength, hope and courage helps so many people out there. Your honesty and determination helps others to see that it is possible to live with schizophrenia. I see you moving on to do great things Stephen, and I am here for it!!!! I LOVE your channel you are doing an amazing job, keep it up. Thank you so much for the education. And “I hope YOU are having a wonderful day” ❣️
I got admitted and am going to this week to Resnick. What you said really aligned with my past admissions there and I’m glad im not the only one who’s been there TvT
I’m 72 but I had a similar experience when I was 20. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I knew myself it wasn’t schizophrenia but of course nobody believes you. I was really bipolar but even with all the tests they didn’t figure it out then. They gave me “zombie “ medication and I could barely function - especially at the beginning when they had me on Thorazine. I couldn’t return for my senior year of college out of state and 1000 miles away. I was well enough to take a few classes at a nearby college and the following semester I was able to finish my senior year- but I barely made it through on the drugs I had to take. I, too, saw things on the locked mental ward that haunt you. EST was being used a lot and I was scared to death they would make me have it. It gave me a sense what jail was like at least being in a locked space. I also had crafts. I’m a musician so I played a lot of piano there. I won’t go on much more but - I never had a correct diagnosis til I was in my 30’s and got on lithium. I have survived even though the illness has caused many problems to me and my family, including my wife and daughter. I wouldn’t see doctors between 20 and 30 because of the wrong drugs prescribed and how they didn’t help. Even though mental health is generally a life sentence, at least the care and medication has way improved since the 70’s. Im glad you seem to have a positive outlook and are able to carry on a normal life. Thanks for making the videos. Even they bring back bad memories, it helped me remember I have had a good and rewarding life in spite of the illness. I pray you will experience the same.
I believe I watch your videos over and over I'm happy that you are better now and I wish you all the best bright future ahead keep up the good work my prayer go out to you and your family's
