I throw my brochures in the garbage! But no more. You've shown just how easy it is to rise above the junk and create a thing of beauty. Thank you so much. Patricia from NSW, Australia. Xx
Good morning nina...browsing through magazines is what I love doing, finding pretty images and I have lots of them, next week a friend is coming over and she can browse through them and we will create pages for journals we are making, love to share images so they are used...Like the magazinejournal a lot.....In dutch the word spring means jump and that is what we are doing take the jump to a new season, can't wait....Have a good week nina, love and a spring-hug lena xxxx
Good morning Lena. The weather yesterday was gorgeous and the temperatures are on the rise and we are in for a beautiful week and Easter weekend 🤞. Have a wonderful week and have a fabulous time with your friend. Love and hugs to you too 💕 xxx
Hi Nina, I love what you've done today. I often cut things out of magazines but never get the effects that I want to achieve. Your video today has taught me a lot. Thank you for sharing your brilliant ideas with us, I really appreciate it. Congratulations on your son's Graduation too. My friend's daughter recently graduated too, it makes you very proud doesn't it - and I'm not even a mother!!! I've certainly had lots of inspiration from your video today, thank you. Have a lovely week ahead. Take care, xx
Hi Valerie, glad this has given you some ideas. We are very proud of Alex’s achievements. He graduated 2 years ago, but because of Covid the ceremony couldn’t take place. It was lovely seeing him in his cap and gown, and of course we now have the graduation photography taking pride of place. Hope you have a wonderful week too 💕 x
Thank you for sharing. My very favorite material to use is trash. I make all of my journals from trash and junk mail as well as my monthly planner. I seldom buy anything other than glue and pens. When I do buy materials, it’s from charity shops. My sisters are artistic and know to save all their trash for me so I get interesting materials from them too. I really enjoyed watching your process.
So lovely and happy!!! Hope you have a happy, springy week! Here in Seattle we had 70 on Thursday and today snow is predicted! Typical crazy spring weather! Take care, thanks for another great video! 👍✌️❤️😊🌸
Thanks Melissa. It’s been like that here too. Last week we had sleet and snow and this week it’s going to be in the late 60’s here too. Bring on the sunshine 💕☀️🌸🌼🌺
I love what you've made today, Nina. I'm kicking myself for throwing such a lot of brochures and catalogues away - though I still have some left. As you may imagine, I'm off now to have a good rummage. Such an interesting video. Thank you!
What a great collage page! I love free images, I find a lot of source material in informational tourists guides in highway rest areas and hotel lobbies. I love harvesting them, now I need to actually start gluing them down! Thanks for the flip through, too.
Thanks so much Kay. It was gorgeous here yesterday, so we spent all morning in the garden and then sent out for lunch with friends. It was a lovely day. Hope you have a wonderful week 💕 xx
Enjoyed your video this morning! And your telling about Leeds, I was there about 18 years ago for a musical concert and honoring of WW II British veterans! Such a lovely place! My son and his small family lived in Kent at the time!
Oh they are so colourful, I love garden brochures I enjoy using them too. My gluebook is made from a magazine where I've folded each page in half lengthways and then I glue the images onto the pages... I have removed some pages as well so it wont get too bulky ha ha 😉🤣🤣❤️💙💛🧡💚 I love your tags too from the cover... I think it needs some gnomes or fairies in amongst the colourful trees 😁😁🌼🌳🧚♂️🧚🧚♀️
Thanks Elaine. I love using free magazines and junk mail to make pages. Occasionally I come across some absolute gems. I’ve not decided what I am going to do with the tags yet, but I agree, they definitely need a focal image 💕 xxx
Fabulous finds! Nina, you have an amazing way of looking at things. I'm so impressed by your artistic view and it's so wonderful to see you recycling/upcycling trash to treasure! Thanks for all you do! Janet 💕
WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩 WOW 🤩 Nina, I really really enjoyed watching you create these stunning and gorgeous page’s, made from something we would normally throw away. This has really really inspired me to look through magazines and junk Mail and find something I can use. I really really love ❤️ this. Thank you so much Nina. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thank you. I don’t know if you have any garden centres near you, but they usually carry these catalogues too. Tourist guides are another great free resource too 💕
Very inspiring video Nina, I am just envious that you get so many beautiful freebies in the UK! 😄. Those trees on the magazine cover are just stunning, I would have picked up two as well! Your collages are gorgeous and I love the idea of the magazine journals! Have a great week and stay safe!💕🇨🇦
You always find the most amazing images to make into such beautiful pages! These are fab because they are something most of us can find!!! Love your journal. Love the pages you created today! TFS. Have a wonderful week! 💞🙏🌹🌻
These are great! I expect it took you ages to make the pages with all the selecting and cutting etc. The end result is definitely worth your time. I've used an estate agent's brochure lately for collage, something new for me, but inspired by you! xx
Thanks Emily. It always takes me a lot longer than the the time shared in these short videos, but it’s such an enjoyable and relaxing process. What a great idea to use an estate agents brochure 💕
Ibuy very few Digi. The ink is too expensive. So I have been cutting out images from catalogues and magazines from the very beginning of my junk Journal Journey. I truly love watching you do this video. It was very affirming and inspiring
Lovely Nina. I’ve been watching your videos since before you started that book. They’ve become part of my Sunday morning routine with a cuppa and a sneaky lie-in. Thank you 🙏💕
Nina, your page is so pretty, I knew there was a reason I still have a pile of flower/seed catalogs as well as a folder full of images I have already cut out of other magazines. I will find my magazine journal as soon as this warm bundle of dog leaves my lap and see what I can put together. I hope your weather is wonderful and you enjoy your time till we meet again.🐦🐞
Thanks Debbie, I hope you enjoyed your doggy cuddle. The weather was gorgeous yesterday, albeit a bit nippy, so we spent all morning in the garden. It is getting milder throughout this week and we could reach 20 c which will be wonderful. Hope you have a good week 💕 xo
I think these are great pages Nina, I've bought 3 of these books from Hobbycraft too, now I know what I can do with them. I've got loads of Modern Garden magazines. Loads of fab images and inspiration. Never thought to fill them like this.
Wow, really loving your pages and all the pages in your book. All of them are great inspiration. For some reason in the area I live we don't get good trash mail, it's very boring and usually about funerals! Our local Town Hall used to produce a really lovely book every year, but they've stopped doing them too. Even when you go online and ask for a brochure they don't send them out anymore, it's all shop online. I am going to have to make a concerted effort to track some fodder down. Tfs xo
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia Thnx Nina, I'll check them out, I know the ones I've been too never have any. They are pretty tight with letting you have magazines round here lol. x
I really like this idea. I always really love some of the images in different books or magazines, but they have too much shine for a vintage page. This is a great way to be able to use those images. Thank you so much for sharing Nina. Lovely 💗
Hi I’ve just stumbled upon your video and it’s really inspiring. I’m thinking of making myself a little kit so I can do this sitting on the sofa when I want to do something creative but have a limited energy. Thank you so much for the idea.
Really pretty, Nina… you’ve got me clipping pictures out of magazines and even the weekly penny saver! They’re currently being collected for a future day… today… I want to paint! LOL thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration in so many ways. Have a great day! 🙂
Congratulations Alex! Nice spread,Nina. I ordered some free catalogs, since I don’t receive any in the mail. It would be fun to make some postcards for sending quick notes. I really love the graffiti piece you showed us last. It’s terrific. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great Inspiration for me today I’ve been wanting to make a journal like this with all the pictures/words I’ve cut out. I will check out your video on how you started yours which is very beautiful with what you’ve done using magazines images. It’s always exciting to see what’s new on your desk. Thanks for sharing 🥳💕
Hi Nina, I just discovered your channel and I'm loving your ideas, very inspirational. As I'm new to journalling, I was wondering how you deal with the problem of type from the back showing through your pictures? I find with thinner paper images, unless I put the image on a dark background, the print from the reverse of the page shows through. Do you ever have this problem?
Those magazine pics make lovely pages! So pretty ☮️💟
Thanks Sue, glad you like them 💕
Looks great, I don’t think I would be able to use the cut outs like you do, but wow! Great job .Thank you xx😁🌺
