Perfect little viv setup for a spotted. Very nice.
Gotta love carpet pythons thanks!
Very cute to see that little girl care so much about her snake. Such a great setup, well done man
Thanks Patrick!

I love watching these build videos.. I always start off , not doubting you, but unsure of how your vision will come together. But by the end of the video I am always impressed with the end result.. a perfect balance of being aesthetically pleasing , natural and also catering for the animals every need and comfort.. I'm sure both owner and occupant l ove it!
Thanks so much! I’m glad I got there in the end ;)
This was awesome and I love the end where you have the footage of the snake acting like a snake.
EB Morelia- thanks Eric! That’s my favourite part and just the way it should be in my opinion. Jessie’s mum Jacky has said that the snake seems like it’s so comfortable in its new home.
Love to see this level of care. Wish more people followed channels like this instead of crap pettubers
@brian barczyk
You're an artist bro! Absolutely brilliant!!!
Antony Thomas thanks!
The vertical branches secured from the ceiling - why did I not think of that? I appreciate the ideas, t/y.
Im in the middle of building a 2x3x2 ft enclosure for my corn snake and was trying to figure out how to waterproof the bottom. I was about to go out and by tile and grout so thanks for the tarp idea
Awesome build! Wish I could do something similar for my spotted
Umbra Reptiles I’m sure you can! I believe in you :)
Awesome build mate! Very helpful, thanks for sharing with the community.
I have a few follow ups if youre still checking comments. I'm building a larger enclosure for my now adult spotted python (120 x 60 x 120)
Can you please share how you treat larger pieces of wood that won't fit in the oven (if at all)? Any wood or leaves to avoid in Australia? Heard eucalyptus and pine are a no go because of their oil
What substrate did you use in this build?
Hi mate. Larger pieces of wood I sometimes would use a snake mite spray over it as it kills most bugs. Or I may leave it wrapped in black plastic in the sun on a driveway to cook.
Most build I use eucy mulch and gum leaves. Kinda everywhere here in Aus so hard for the animals to avoid. Never had an issue with them. Hope this helps!
Thanks, very helpful. Off I go to put it all together
Congrats on 1k subs
Michael Bird thanks mate!
When are you Gina do a thank you for 1 k subs vid? Or stream or if you won’t will u doa thank you for -- subs?
Also do you have a het or hyper bts
Michael Bird I’ll most likely have a chat about the matter on my next livestream that will air for all subscribers on the 30/8/20. I don’t own any eastern blue tongues of any variety any more sorry.
Have been looking into putting an enclosure together and getting a little spotted python for my first snake and this video was awesome for some ideas! The misso hates snakes and is always at me to get some plants so the foliage should cancel out the hate I get for buying a snake hahaha
Tyran Stephenson hopefully that gets her over the line for you!
@@BeachesScalyBeasts I reckon the second she sees a little python she'll change her mind, cute little buggers haha
Awesome man! Just listened to your episode on mpr. You crushed it.
Thanks heaps! I feel privileged to have been able to go on and talk to the fellas!
simple yet affective i dont how you do it but your a genious
seanmc haha thanks!
Nice.
Thanks 😊
That’s awesome. Looks great!
Love your new intro mate! Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Again, a great video, and awesome set up!! Keep them coming 👌
Darren Murphy thanks!
How do you clean when she poos in amongst all those branches (have you a good short cut effective method)? Can you have underterrarium heating pads with those kind of terras ?
Just spot clean as needed. If a little bit is missed the clean up crew fix it up. Usually overhead heating is better.
Sweet setup!
I love this! Great work as always
Thank you!
Good as mate, loves it!
Cheers!
That’s awesome mate. 🤙🏻
i loved it
I’m glad :)
now I wanna build a bio active tank. nice work
Do it!
@@BeachesScalyBeasts yeah it’s gonna happen. Will start with my coastal carpet. Then who knows lol. Any tips to start with??
@@aussiewombat888 my only tip is watch a lot of videos and see what you’d like to try. I have heaps of tips throughout my channel to get you started :)
@@BeachesScalyBeasts thanks mate. You are definitely an inspiration. Keep up the good work and keep it real.
Hey mate cool build. Wanted to ask where you get your springtail from? I'm right into bio builds but in struggling to find anywhere to purchase them in Australia
I got mine originally from a friend. You can actually harvest them from most gardens to start a colony. I’m unaware of anyone selling them online but worth asking around other hobbyists in your area.
Awesome set up! Love the content!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Hey mate, wondering how you got your wiring connected to the outside without dismantling the enclosure?
I just drilled smaller holes for the disconnected wires to slide through from memory.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts I was more thinking of getting the T5 globe wires into the enclosure without a too big a hole - I’ve got the issue where I want to change out my current T5 for a new LumenIZE system.
Great video keep up the good work
Thanks so much!
starting my first bioactive enclosure for my children’s python and struggling to find the best suited light for her. do you have any recommendations?
Most decent LEDs in the 6500k range are usually sufficient depending on the plants you’ll want to grow.
Are you on the Northern Beaches?
I used to be!
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Where are you now?
Awsome 👌👌
Awesome video luke, How do you clean your timber for terrarium use?
EJ Holmes thanks mate. If needed I’ll use mite sprays and f10. I also bake pieces in the sun for days to draw out any bugs.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Thanks Luke
Just wondering, how do you 'spotclean' in these sorts of enclosures? Don't hate pls, I'm trying to learn.
When you spot clean it’s just picking up any obvious poo or waste.
Hello could you pls make some more spotted python videos
Potentially in the future however I don’t own spotteds.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts okay thank you
Do you culture your slater’s from the wild?
Just answered on your other comment 😊
Just wondering, is there a reason why you didn't decide to cover the inner sides with coir as well to match the back?
And how do you go about "cleaning" and maintaining something like this?
@@rrusty_spoon there’s no particular reason why I didn’t do the sides to be honest.
As far as cleaning goes, you just spot clean waste. Any little ‘left overs’ are what the clean up crew is for. Other maintenance includes watering and trimming plants if needed.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts I'm a plant person that's just starting to cross over into reptiles so I'm curious about the plants and how they receive their nutrients (since I would assume typical fertilizer is a no go).. Do you fertilize at all? I'm leaning toward maybe worm castings? I would think that would be safe...
@@rrusty_spoon worm castings and tea are perfect. Anything organic is generally fine.
How do you ever do a full clean with Lysol on a setup like this?
Setups like this you don’t tend to clean to that sort of extreme as it can damage the plants and clean up crew.
What are you using for substrate?
Eucy mulch (eucalyptus mulch)
hi there i dont suppose you could write the name of the 3 plants for me as i would very much like to use them for my set up. many thanks
No worries. Parlour palm, pothos, philodendron sp.
I would say philodendron, pothos, and parlour palm. Just my speculations
Doesnt the back carpet get moldy with plant moisture?
It’ll dry pretty quick provided the plants aren’t overwatered. And as long as the springtails keep populating they should destroy any mould.
What are those tall plants called
Parlour palms
How long should i leave wood from outside in boiling water for it to be safe?
2-3 hours
where did u get the tank
The owner had already picked up the tank second hand.
I want to buy some real Aussie leaf litter for my Children’s python. Any ideas? Cheers from the US. And Merry Christmas!
Chris I’m not sure where’d you’d source Australian native leaves in the us. Maybe if you can buy eucalyptus trees or gums you can plant one and harvest leaves as needed?
What are the T5 lights. We’re do you get them
You can buy them off eBay. Search t5 plant grow light.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Cheers mate. these good for lizards also?
@@donbriggs6687 fine for lizards however they don’t produce UVB.
@@BeachesScalyBeasts Thats what I thought cheers
What, attack?
I personally know Jessie as I used to be her babysitter. I know she loved little Harmony and I felt heartbroken when I heard the news about harmony finding a new home. Jessie is still a close friend and she really appreciated it, so I'm saying thank you on her behalf
She’s a great kid. I can only imagine her grief moving her on.
This is beautiful! how do you clean these tanks when they do their business as you have plants in there?
I would take out any bug particles and let the cleaning bugs clean the rest up.
