Paying more for gen 1 pokemon seems understandable. But paying 15+ for a maushold IR is a bit stupid. A lot of those new pokemon will be forgotten when the new generation hits. Also, it's not like they are never gonna make another umbreon, charizard, pikachu, Greninja card etc. Seems mostly fomo to me.
The new Pokemon are this generations charmander. My daughter is 6 and loves sprigattio. Couldn’t give a Rats ass about any of the older mons. Fidoh, alcremie, all new paldea ones. These are made for children at the end of the day and today’s children will enjoy what they grow up with in the show. In this case it’s gen 8/9. in my case it was gen 2/3.
I'm several "cheaper" cards off completing 151, maybe like £400 worth.. £100 worth with trading in valuable duplicates, I do worry there is no stopping the train, it all depends on the new box prices. The promos are very cheap cards and are going to absolutely tank the second it is out, so then it comes down to pack price. I am hoping the set is around £60 retail but if they come in at £80 it might just be fuel to the fire, people also waiting for it to snap up singles cheaper (like me) might also add more fuel and singles climb even higher.. think I'm going to wait and see, but if its over £60 I'm snap buying whatever I need that day I think

@@Senpaitcg Sure. But do you see a 6 year old pay for single cards? Adults do most of the buying of singles. And they are more into the older pokemon.
No but 6 year old get older in most cases. Some become adults even.

The cheapest will be 79.99. Expect to pay more to actually get one.
Gravity Mountain hyper rare is so underrated. It’s going for about $12. I’m buying as many as I can.
Love your style, content and helpful information. Thx ✌
