Cadillac XT5 DTC P0128 Engine Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature

I only replaced coolant temperature sensor. Thirteen dollar part on a 2018 xt5. Took off upper and lower intake and air intake. Took an easy hour and vehicle runs fine. I didn’t do thermostat just sensor.

The thermostat was unavailable during Covid times. The sensor worked for several weeks. Then it stopped working again. I bought the OEM thermostat and another sensor. Had to do the job twice. It’s fixed for several months now. Don’t half ass the job like I did.! Thanks..

I had my thermostat on a 2018 XT5 replaced last week. The sales clerk then showed me a photo of a fuel injector and said I also needed service. It sounded a bit fishy when I asked him to send me the photo - he refused. When replacing a thermostat would the fuel injectors be open for viewing by a technician? Thanks.

some techs remove the fuel injectors to gain access to the thermostat and some other techs use their skills and can replace the thermostat without touching the injectors

@@WissamAbbas theres a chance that the seal on the pipe might not seal correctly.
