    I would like to see a video showing how to add accessory lighting the correct way, including looms and disconnects to make maintenance easy.

    Nothing grinds my gears more than seeing this wiring nightmare under the seat on any bike. Keep them coming Max...

    I was searching for a goldwing 4 years ago, finally settled on a 2013 with 3k kms on it. I looked at probably 20 different bikes and avoided any that looked more than 10% from stock... some people go way over board with such a great machine imo.. not a fan of add ons that don't look stock... rolling Christmas trees imo is yucky... my 2 cents
    Great job again Max!
    Can't wait for my full Monty upgrade!

      Traxxion, yeah, I was lucky to find it and was a very fair price as well!... love this machine!..
      I have 50k kms on it now, about 31k miles, still going strong!

    I bought 2002 Goldwing last september had 2 owners and 101,000 miles on it looked just like the ones in you pictures 2 sets of leds front and rear cameras the front one always falling off hitting front fenders a small fuse box just laying by the battery no battery hold down another round positive with few more wires with relay a cirus radio but no radio but wiring,thru all that junk away looks stock again. He would not let me test ride it went down driveway had no rear brakes, rear shock preloader did not work i have taking the line off added oil and got it somewhat working starts pumping now at 10 need to try to add more oil again makes a clanking noise over bumps i was going to one of your shops in california but retired on ss and cant really afford it right now. i was a subaru and honda tech for thirty years aways try to fix it myself, i sure would love to have you guys work on it kind of rides like a log truck, i have watched a lot of your videos and learned a lot from you guys if you watch one of my videos maybe you can tell me what's wrong with it thank you max and your techs with all you awesome videos. Rick

      I just rebuilt my whole preload system.
      It wouldn't work at all
      I added oil and it ran out the bottom. I thought it was a busted hose which I ordered from Traxxion but once I got it apart the hose was fine. The O rings were just rotten.
      I got those from Traxxion too. But they were normal rings. The originals were square rings.
      It works now, hope it holds.
      It wasn't as bad a job as everyone makes it out to be.
      I found a take off shock and spring from a dealer in Ohio. It was brand new. $120 So I replaced that too. Went ahead and did the air filter as long as I was that deep.
      Also Honda will not sell parts for that preload system. They will only sell the whole system. Motor/reservoir, hose, preload spring compressor and shock/ spring.
      It was a used bike and did have the spaghetti bowl under the seat. It's all gone now.

      The stock suspension is infamously terrible... but it's really expensive to replace it. Putting "newer" stock pieces on won't help. A Traxxion Fork Spring Kit and some new 20wt oil will make a BIG help for short money.

    I have a 2018 Tour. The only accessories I’ve added is a brake light modulator to make the brake light flash when I use the brakes. My OCD couldn’t handle a “rats nest” like you showed.

    YT videos of home-made accessory fuse boxes crack me up, as do a couple of highly subcribed Goldwing vloggers who've published videos of their accessory wiring that look pretty much like your photos. At best it's a short waiting to happen, at worst, it's a fire. I've run my bits and bobs through a PDM60 and, like you Max, I keep it all tidy with cable trunking.

      It's just peace of mind, and the only way to do it. I just feel bad for guys who don't know what they are getting. They get their bike back, the seat is on, and the lights are on, so they think "Great!" and drive off....

    I bought my low mileage late model Wing used with over $7k in LED accessories already installed. Its loaded. Under the seat is absolute spaghetti, but proper components were used like fuse block, etc. I went through it and redid it to make sure it was solid and had service loops allowing repositioning of the wiring as needed to remove the fuel tank etc. if needed, but it's still a lot of wiring connections and appears unsightly compared to stock wiring obviously. The bike has been through the fuel pump recall, and also the bolt recall. The dealer never mentioned it. The bolt recall was done from below and had no issue. Any accessory added to a vehicle adds complexity and failure points, and is a potential hazard, and certainly doesn't make service any easier. I certainly don't have to worry about my bike being very safe and visible on the road...

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  6 днів тому

      You say they did the bolt recall without removing the fuel tank?

    • @madogblue
      @madogblue 6 днів тому

      @Traxxion That is my understanding. I have read online that there is a new method many dealers are using that streamlines the bolt recalls process considerably. I asked the dealer on two separate occasions if they needed to remove the fuel tank and they said no, they would access from below.

    Good on that dealership for actually accommodating that disaster to tackle the warranty work. Any more you'd think dealerships would just turn that mess away... and say no thank you. I've resisted putting any lightning on my wing just because of how tight everything is on the wing and how much stuff has to be removed to work on anything. I would maybe consider lighting if all the different companies would've used the same damn wiring harnesses. Why they thought they needed proprietary wiring for a light that just needs two wires is over my head.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  7 днів тому

      Two companies have lighting blocks now that are pretty much plug and play and you can buy adapter pigtails if you don't have all matching brands. If your lighting products are going to be mostly Goldstrike, then their lighting distribution block is a good choice. If you have lots of brands then Electrical Connection makes nice box with adapters for all the main brands.
      The good news is, none of it is cut and splice like all of the products for the 2001-17 bike was. They are real nightmares. The 2018+ is all plug and play waterproof connections.

    • @bigk7788
      @bigk7788 7 днів тому +1

      @Traxxion ideally you'd buy all the same brands but if you didn't adding adapters is just one more thing to stuff under the seat. Goldstrike block is sick though, kind of genius.
