Star Citizen 3.20 PTU - Critical Threat Ambush Using Ares (Buffed?)

The ares is a lot easier to use in the 3.20 PTU compared to the previous versions, but im not exactly sure what they changed. I know the inferno got the spread buffs for its weapon but the Ion got nothing as far as I can see. I do remember CIG talking about a slight aim assist buff and maybe that is in play here, but I cant find any patch note or change log regarding aim assist.
